iMac9, 1 & large SSD not compatible?

Tried upgrading the iMac9, 1 (early 2009) with a Sandisk Ulta II 960 GB SSD. It is a SATA III SSD. Finished with a white screen on startup. Absolutely boot with this hard drive (internal or external). I have test the background and even SSD installed in a late 2009 iMac10, 1 that starts very well. Then I put a 240GB Kingston (also SATA III) in the 9.1 and it starts fine. Verify that the reporting system and reported SATA interface that negotiated 3 GB to 1.5 GB. The speed improvement was always phenomenal as the SSD was El Cap top and all operations starting from were fast enough.

I remember OWC having 3Gb SSD (and a quick search on OWC for a compatible SSD with the imac9, 1 confirmed they recommend 3 GB).

What have been the experiences of the other iMac9, 1 owners who have done this kind of upgrade? What large SSD (960 GB/1 TB) have worked for you?

Thank you!

Barry

The question may be that it is SanDisk, which doesn't always work well on Macs. I suggest you return it and get a refund. Open no more on an 3 G SSD from OWC . No additional expenses for a 6G SSD points then you will get the best performance. Now, it is also conceivable that your model can not simply support SSD that big. I do not know. OWC makes SSDS as large for older iMac like yours.

I would also suggest trying an OCZ SSD. In my view, that Vertex models supported 3G as will be the most recent. Amazon usually has good deals on SSD OCZ.

Now, just so I don't forget anything. Partition you the new SSD for the GUID and Mac OS Extended journaled format. The DSS came that way. How did you put OS X on this drive, and what version of Mac OS X you have installed.

  • How can I determine which Intel SSD is compatible with my MacBook PRo mid-2012?

I have a MacBook Pro 13 inch Mid 2012 (not retina) and I need to upgrade my hard drive to an SSD. I've seen several like Intel s 540 and 750 series and a Crucial MX SSD. However, I am trying to identify the one which would be compatible and the best alternative for my upgrade. I appreciate the help. Thank you.

    SSD:

    MX200 essential 500 GB SATA 6 GB/s 2.5 "

    Intel SSD 540 s series 480GB 2.5 "SATA 6 Gb/s, 16nm, TLC

    Intel SSD 750 series (400 GB 1/2 height PCle 3.0, 20nm, MLC)

Your Mac has a SATA interface, so the PCIe model is not compatible, I would choose most of the three.

  • I continue to receive requests to upgrade to Firefox 25, but then he said that it is not compatible with Kapersky. Other issues. How can I talk with a real person?

I keep getting windows pop up on my screen to update, but it still says that it is not compatible with Kapersky, I just update. Makes me nervous. In addition, belongs to Adobe of Mozilla? I can't seem to update that. However, it seems like if I can't download the videos at all and a large number of photos. I'm not computer savvy, and it's frustrating trying to navigate through it all.

You need to update Firefox 25.0.1. The real Kapersky Antivirus does not work in Firefox so it will still work, the only thing that will be disabled will be especially useless Firefox Add-on e kapersky. Remaining on older versions of Firefox actually leave you vulnerable to security problems.

Adobe is not a part of Mozilla. You can go to http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/ to install Flash (don't include other software)

  • HP Pavilion ZD7000 hard drive expandable to SSD? Compatible?

I'm looking to upgrade a HP Pavilion ZD7000 (P/N: DN730AV) for Windows 7 Home Premium, including equipment upgrades memory to 2 GB of storage, and I would add an SSD.

    Two questions:

Q: a solid state drive is not compatible to this brand and model of laptop?

Q: If so, the BIOS would require upgrading to support the SSD drive?

    Thank you!

There are several problems with you try to run Windows 7 on this 10 year old material. The video (nVidia Geforce FX5200 GB) card will not support Aero desktop effects and is known to be buggy in Windows 7 with all the drivers from nVidia available. Second, the hard drive is EIDE, not SATA, so there is no available AHCI mode. AHCI is the only way to get excellent performance of an SSD. There are EIDE SSD. And they do not provide a performance increase, but nothing like what you get with modern machines with native SATA (AHCI) support.  It can use 2 GB of RAM which is memory DDR333. It is a single core Pentium 4 processor, and frankly, there are many cell phones on the market with as much computing power.

128 GB PATA (EIDE) SSD for $175

    64 GB for $80

The problem with the SSD isn't the BIOS, but the basic material. Here is the service manual you'll need if you decide to go forward. The laptop is great and pretty easy to disassemble. It could be upgraded to a 3.4 ghz Pentium 4 very easily for a little money if you have a slower processor installed. This would to some extent.

  • HP iq 504: what SSD is compatible with my PC?

Hi, someone told me upgrade my HDD for SSDrive will boost the performance of my computer. I think of buying an SSD for my computer, I have an all in one computer HP IQ 504, its has been slow but still doesn't work and can work normally when optimzied. My question is, am not really sure that SSD is compatible with my computer and I don't have that a budget of $300, is there a good SSDrive I could buy for $100 - $ 300? How do I know if its compatible with my PC? This is the computer I use at the moment: http://support.hp.com/us-en/product/HP-TouchSmart-Desktop-PC-series/3733137/model/3752238 is an all ine one pc, I bought 6-7 years ago and now I have window 10 operating system installed on it. Thanks for any helpful answer!

See pages 12-22 of the manual here:

    Repair manuals

Your computer uses full size 3.5 inch wide disc as with a desktop computer. SSD are 2.5 inches wide and thinner. You will need to get a 3.5 inch to 2.5 inch adapter and an SSD. But any current SSD model works perfectly and your budget is a lot to get a good. A 500 or 512 GB SSD is now less than $200. I have remommend Samsung 850 Evo of the SSD line.

Find the setup.exe on your disk, right-click, choose Properties, and then click the Compatibility tab.  Replace the XP SP2 compatibility.  Run the Setup.exe again and it should work for you.

  • SSD not work / be detected - error Windows installation on laptop HP Dv6-1149wm

Well, well, I tried three different nine ssd: 1 kingston v300 120 GB SSD, 2 840 120 GB ssd samsung, and 3 an another kingston v300 120 GB SSD. Tried in this order.

The Kingston-discs Are not detected by the bios no error or nothing, nada. When it is attached to another computer running windows drives are detected properly. nothing wrong with that.

The Samsung player- It was the second drive I tried. It has been detected by the bios but diagnosis gave me the '303' fast error. When you install windows via USB, it asked me to drivers before proceeding. When installing from a cd, I could get to the point where I see the drive listed. I would get errors when I would try to partition or format. Not even partition the drive via the command prompt by using diskpart worked. It returns an error indicating an incorrect setting or something like that (Note I could partition the drive here but not format NTFS).  I could manually partition on another system completely. Formatting/partitioning via another system has allowed me to completely enter the installation up to the point where it says "installation of features" then it gives me an error saying that it was impossible to define the local system - or something like that. In addition to that I also tried to install windows on the other system that was working fine but would not transfer to the laptop. I also tried the previos on the ssd drive cloning, but when booting the computer gave me a disc read error.

My personal desktop (OCZ Vertex 4 128 GB) drive- it has worked. Diagnosis of computer picked up fine and did not point out the mistakes. The only thing is that I tried to install windows on it because I already had a facility there.

My thoughts– my best guess is that there is a kind of incompatibility with the drives firmware and the BIOS of the computer. The Bios (Insyde h20 F.21) is very limiting in a first time, too easy to use, and not much to do here, second he has not seen an update since 2011. Seems to me that the SSD technology may be advancing faster that HP can follow their updates (this of course assuming it's the BIOS that is at fault)

I am open to suggestions for ideas, basically anything that can help me at this point. I spent many hours on it and I turned empty.

In the end, I ended up putting 4 vertex in there. For some reason, the mobo refuses to recognize the kingston ssd. The samsung, I can't say with certainty because it detected well, but wrong on everything. Must have been a bad disc. It's weird that the manual says it does not accept the ssd because many old machines still accept DSS. Any ways long story short the the kingstons were not compatible, probably faulty samsung, the ozc was the only one that worked perfectly.

  • What type of SSD is compatible with 791G

What type of M.2 SSD is compatible for 791 G PCI - express and sata III?

SATA III. PCI express is not in the socket.

  • Acer R7 - 571 level disk cache to large SSD to the boot drive and keep the traditional HARD drive.

Is it possible to replace the drive 24 GB of cache in the R7-571 with a larger SSD (say 128 GB and 256Go) to use as the startup disk and keep the traditional disc for storage on the other?

I saw the references to individuals 'redevelopment' of SSD, but normally they keep the 24GB disk cache and upgrade their traditional 500 GB drive?
If it is possible to replace the disk cache of 24GO, it seems silly to keep it and throw a perfectly good car. Seems would not be much point in having the disk cache if your main player is an SSD.

Yes, I put a 128 GB Plextor M5M in my mSATA port. Make sure that you first create a USB recovery, then open the R7 and replace 24GO with your new mSATA disk drive.

Make sure that your new mSATA, not ordinary SATA SSD!

  • video monitor error is not compatible with this game - which can change in the settings on my netbook to run this game

How can I change the settings to run a game on my netbook Windows xp... video monitor error is not compatible with this game.

    Hello

Unfortunately, most netbooks do not have the resolution of the screen (or the graphics hardware) necessary to run graphics intensive games. Your best bet would be to run the game on a more powerful machine with a larger screen, or alternatively, as last resort try connecting an external monitor.

    Hello malaglinskom,

In addition to what Azam offered, you may try the following:

If you are running Windows 7 Professional or Ultimate version, install Windows Virtual PC and Windows XP mode (http://www.microsoft.com/windows/virtual-pc/default.aspx) and run your software in Windows XP.

If you run Windows 7 Home Premium, try VirtualBox (www.virtualbox.org) or VMware Player (www.vmware.com), or any other software virtualization part 3rd and install a separate copy of Windows XP (family or professional edition) for this purpose. You can find the virtualization software free that will run on Windows 7 Home Premium.

    Hope this information helps.

  • Fable the Lost Chapters for XP is not compatible with Win7 - is there a way to fix it?

I just bought the XP game edition and expects a lot of fun on my new 17 in. Inspiron R with all the trimmings, only to be told that the FtLC for XP is not compatible with Win7.

The problem is that the graphics are like seeing double, literally two principals semi-molten you close them; they never completely merge, and most things, except the bottom, are very blurry.  I already have bad eyesight; I want a clean game.

I have tried to adjust the game to play in the uncluttered window, but it remains only purified until the credits have finished the race.  Then, the game returns to the full screen, wide and I think it's the wide screen that is the cause of the problem; the credits are great!

At Ms. really bring out a game duded up before Fable 4 only to have it be unplayable on pc with the newest Windows operating system?  Or is it possible to work things so the game is playable in fact and you can use a bow without guessing where is the target?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you.

By chance, I reinstalled the game (that I hadn't played for a long time) on Windows 7 x 64 a few weeks ago. Guess what? It works without too much fiddling.

Maybe it's that you will get a screen that says "incompatibilities with this version of Windows" every time you start (just click it away), and most likely, you will encounter an inactive 'fable.exe' process that must be completed before starting the game a second time (happens only once per Windows session). The second start focus also slowed down as the first, but after a while, the game will go up.

Things to do during the installation: run 'setup' as an administrator (do not use the 'autorun' option) with the following compatibility setttings 'XP SP3', 'disable visual themes', "Disable desktop layout" (this avoids some flickering). Start the game with the same settings. If you are given a choice of setting up your video card (the game is not identify him because it uses a completely outdated XML list of video cards caves), select "primary, no LNP. Resolution of 1024 x 768 x 32 is fine.

Note that the game dimensionnera full screen, even if your screen size is larger than 1024 x 768, but it will keep the old 4:3 picture format, you will have black borders on both sides of the screen.

  • Halo: IT says that it is not compatible, even though it was working before

I deleted my Halo: Combat Evolved pc Windows Game 7 by accident. I tried to re - install, but she telling me it's not compatible. How is this possible if I installed and played on this same laptop before? It begins installing then stops at 17% and said 'Microsoft games Autorun/Setup has stopped working' only option is to close the program. Then I do. Then he said: it CAN not compatible. I got tired of all the compatibility options and still get the same thing. I do not understand how I installed and was able to play it a day but when I try and do again all of a sudden it is not compatible. I didn't even look for the game on the Microsoft Web site, and it says it is compatible with windows 7. Can someone help me please?

Removing software will lead to complications given that likely registry entries
Install who want to link to the removal, and Windows is perhaps coming
with an error message bogus because it's all just confused about what has
    that's happened with the game.
First of all try to do a system restore to a time before you delete the game.

Another option, depending on how long it has been, and how much written
you did on the space, the game was installed to, is to use a data recovery software that United Nations-is your deletions (I'm assuming that your BIN is not large enough to hold the game. If the game is in the SANDBOX, you can
just restore from there. Done deal).

If this cannot be done your will have to play in the registry and remove all entries for the game.
Back up the registry before deleting all entries well. It is not always easy to find the registry entries, but are common places
HKEY_CURRENT_USER-SOFTWARE and find the name of the game or the Publisher (look in the Wow6432Node folder so)

or HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE-SOFTWARE (there is more chance of finding
Games in the Wow6432Node folder in this part of the registry).

Also delete any folder in your.
The user-My Documents or user------AppData Local or Raoming.
(you can save backup files for the reinstallation).
Once that the removal of all traces of the original installation, you should be able to reinstall it.

I did not have Halo and did not follow the many threads related, but a search of this site should find some discussion and perhaps help.

The right column of this page has a column of related topics, and the link below goes into detail about the general issue of your error - message

  • PSD-file is not compatible

Open a psd file in Photoshop CC 2015, the program responds by saying that the file is not compatible. I made the file CC2014 or CC2015 and then worked on it in CS6. Now it does not work on two programs

Changes with each new version of Photoshop PSD file format, so it is built into the functionality of compatibility built in for when you save should you want to go back and use earlier versions. It was not many changes between PS2014 and PS2015 but CS6 is old and there are differences.  It seems that if you have which off preference saving mode of compatibility and openness to CS6 corrupt the file. .

To activate the dialog box above go to preferences under Edit and change there.

If your file is large PSD files can be repaired with a tool like repair PSD of Phoenix, but you'll probably lose something.

    Hope that helps
