  I use Thunderbird for several years and a year and a half ago moved my TB *.default folder to a folder in Dropbox so that my email would synchronize no matter if I used my "daily driver" iMac, or backup PC running XP.   Although the PC gets started on every two weeks on average, I have to use Thunderbird on this, since I have upheld that it functioned normally by above - until now. The folders pane is selected in the drop-down menu, and I've exhausted all options possible view and still can not all records (XP is completely up-to-date, end of support by way of derogation and I keep the antivirus updated PC and run on a regular basis.) Given that the PC is barely used, I very rarely found no problem with it.)

  When I open the error Console I see errors in the following lines: 784, 131, 250, 287, 2432, 287 and 300. I tried to copy and paste here, but it does not work (is there a way to save the error report in a text file?)

  It would be really nice to solve this problem so that I can use Thunderbird on my PC until I can get my iMac fixed. Any help will be greatly appreciated!

  I have just removed & re-installed TB, edited profiles.ini properly, and now everything is fine! Probably should have try this 1st (20/20 with hindsight and all that...)

I use Yahoo mail for junk and spam of the screen, empty the trash from Yahoo, then open the remaining notes with Windows Mail after the release of Yahoo. This has just begun.

  It is not clear if you use a POP3 server or an IMAP account - it sounds as if it were an IMAP.  I don't know how messages get tossed into the trash from Yahoo rather than be removed.  You could try to remove the account, closing and reopening of Winmail opener and then adding the new account.  This resolve sometimes strange questions.  Also check interference antivirus (see www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3).

  It may be a hidden file.  Make sure you have these active under control panel | Folder options | View.
   
  And go to start | Run and type (or copy and paste):
   
  "C:\program files\outlook express\msimn.exe".

  1. The error message indicates a corrupt Inbox.
  2. Messages if even received any at least in the second ID, in tools | Accounts, you also have the first account ID listed. First fix the Inbox.
   
   
  Error number: 0x800C0133 = a corrupt Inbox.
   
  Move any message you want to save to a local folder that you create. Then, remove the problem of Inbox as follows.
   
  Tools | Options | Maintenance | Store folder will reveal the location of your Outlook Express files. Note the location and navigate on it in Explorer Windows or, copy and paste in start | Run.
   
  In Windows XP, Win2K & Win2K3 the OE user files (DBX and WAB) are by default marked as hidden. To view these files in Windows Explorer, you must enable Show hidden files and folders under start | Control Panel | Folder options | View.
   
  With OE closed, find the box of Inbox.dbx and delete it. Another will be created automatically when you open OE.
   
   
  To avoid this in the future:
   
  Do not archive mail in the receipt or sent items box. Create your own user-defined folders and move messages you want to put in them. Empty the deleted items folder daily. Although the dbx files have a theoretical capacity of 2 GB, I recommend all a 300 MB max for less risk of corruption.
   
  After you're done, followed by compacting your folders manually while working * off * and do it often.
   
  Click Outlook Express at the top of the the folder tree so no folders are open. Then: File | Work offline (or double-click on work online in the status bar). File | Folder | Compact all folders. Don't touch anything until the compacting is completed.
   
  Disable analysis in your e-mail anti-virus program. It is a redundant layer of protection that devours the processors and causes a multitude of problems such as time-outs and account setting changes.   I use Thunderbird 24.4.0 to download my mail via the POP3 service. My messages are deleted on the server when I erase it in Thunderbird.   I think the problem might be the option "when I delete them. That tells Thunderbird to reach out and the cops messages on the server when you delete them in Thunderbird. Instead, check the box to leave messages on the server and clear the check boxes under that.

  I've updated to FF 3.6 FF 8 and for some reason, the upgrade of profile fine except for cookies has wiped.

  I have a copy of the cookies.sqllite of 3.6 and I tried to paste it back in my new directory profile but with no luck - no cookie does not appear in the browser. For some reason any in options, it is stuck on Firefox will be: don't forget history (although this option is technically very good) even if I try to customize the options.

  You still see (ever) history to remember selected if all the history settings are the default.

  I think a lot of that has to do with laws in countries that are not currently supported. All countries have their own laws when it comes to things such as subscriptions online etc. I don't think there's a technical reason any that some countries have been omitted. From my understanding it really comes down to work within the laws of the country. I am not a lawyer and certainly do not know the laws, but it's just what I heard.

  Is it in fact received twice by the recipient, or is there just two copies appearing in the "sent" folder? If it's a Gmail or Hotmail /outlook.com account, it is not necessary to check the setting to have a copy in the "sent" folder (settings of the tools/accounts /AccountName/Copies & records), since both services are already automatically. The same may be true for the other email providers.
