iMessage inactive account

The Message app does not work on my MacBook Pro. I tried looking for the community but have not found a resolution. I have a MacBook Pro (retina, mid-2012) running OS X El Capitan 10.11.4.

Message has worked with Yosemite, but stopped working after the installation of El Capitan. More specifically, when I go into Preferences-> accounts I get a my iTunes account which is grayed out and said (inactive) iMessage. In the real application of the Messages, I am unable to send or receive messages.

I use the same account on iPhone and iPad iTunes and these work with beautiful Messages.

Thank you

John

Hello

The iMessages it takes in Messages and Apple ID.

Most people use the same as the one they use to iCloud in system preferences.

However, they may be different because there is no option to activate the ID iCloud BOF Messages, FaceTime or iTunes, the App Store (or game Center)

Internet accounts in system preferences will show Jabber, AIM and Yahoo account which may be activated in Messages for the cat.

I assume you mean this preferences

The "Enable this account" box IS visible (I assume that you have not until now and he's waiting for a password)

IF you use 2 verification step, you must create a password for the specific Application for Messages.

    Hello

I logged of iMessage on my computer so that my mother wouldn't get a bunch of text notifications while she uses it for the week. Unfortunately, now I can't log in. I've been reading around but could not find a solution to my problem because I am totally unable to select my iMessage address in the left panel. It is grayed out and snap / cmnd + del / the - key while doing nothing (the + button gives me the opportunity to add a new aol/google/yahoo account instead of imessage, not help), so there is no way to add or remove a number or something like that.

    Help, please!

    1. Please log off or restart the computer. Try again.

    Hello

The first picture is the default Action, and I suspect that it is for the second.

If you would like the first to appear empty then delete com.apple.ids.service.com.apple.madrid.plist

For access to this has you need to use a Finder window an Access then th go Menu while pressing the ALT key, and then click the library that appears.

Go to preferences and find the file and delete it (drag it to the trash).

I don't know what .plist holds the Apple ID used in the part of the iCloud or system preferences.

  • Preferences of messages will not open; inactive account - El Capitan

Messages is not connected to my iCloud on my MacBook Pro (OS x 10.11.5).) I can't access Messages/preferences currently, but the last time I have, it says my iCloud account is inactive. The messages (and iCloud) work very well on other devices.

I tried a few solutions that I found these boards, such as the safe boot mode, then restart. signing and to iCloud on multiple devices; go to ~/Library/Preferences and remove several .plist files. All to nothing does not.

When I try to access Messages/preferences, the Console records the following:

  • Update iMessage 'dormant' account from El Capitan (MBP9, 1).

    Hi all

Recently, I was unable to use my Macbook Pro 9.1 El Capitan 10.11.4 running Messages. I noticed that the issue arose at the same time I've updated to the latest version of El Capitan. I see that a lot of people seem to have this problem, but no one seems to have found a solution yet.

However, my problem seems slightly different from some of the other posts here.

Essentially, most of the troubleshooting steps I found up to now say to log on to the account of iMessage and then insert it again. I am unable to do it though, because when I go into my account preferences, that's what I see:

As you can see, none of my account information fills. I am also unable to delete the account and add once again, by clicking on the "-" button with the selected iMessage account does nothing.

I have so far to solve this:

    1 reset the NVRAM/PRAM memory.

    2 reset the SMC.

    3. started in the boot without danger and attempted to sign on the account.

    4. offline and then back in iCloud (start-up and normal startup).

5 deleted my iCloud "Internet accounts" account and then re - he added.

    6. I also saw some advice and told him to remove some of the .plists in the ~/Library/Preferences folder (can not remember exactly which ones that patients have check the post I'm referencing), but none of this seems to help. Doesn't completely remove those files, I copied them on my desk, removed from the Preferences folder, and then when I saw that nothing changed I restored the plist files to their previous location in the Preferences folder.

Another interesting point is that, when even if the Macbook with the question appears under the "Devices" heading in the menu iCloud, the Macbook does not appear in the "Devices" heading if (on my iPhone) I go to settings > Messages > text Message Forwarding. Here, I see my iPad and my iMac, but my Macbook is mysteriously absent. In addition, Facetime works fine on the Macbook Pro in question, and iMessaging works on all other apple devices that I admit, so the problem is only the iMessage on my Macbook Pro.

I'd be super grateful for any advice someone can provide, since it gets pretty boring. I never realized how many times I have used on my Macbook Messages until I could no longer!

    Hello

At the time when this device is not connected to iMessages it will not display elsewhere.

If the Apple is not used on the iPhone (not likely anything you post) other people don't be "registered with iMessages" when using the Apple ID to connect to you.

If you go to the account of Hello can activate you it?

IF you do it seems to start the iMessages a gear?

If you have removed com.apple.ids.service.com.apple.madrid.plist then you will need to re - enter the Apple ID and then accept the pop ups on what is the use of the iPhone.

Although there are links between the iCloud server and the iMessages one to check the password (as there are in all applications and Services) makes no difference whether or not you are connected to iCloud.

In system preferences > iCloud there is not the option for Messages (FaceTime or iTunes and the App Store or developers Login If you have one).  It lets you not even use the name here for GOAL (@mac.com @me.com and @icloud.com s ID can be used and pseudonyms AIM)

Recently, I've disabled an account of people (I'm an admin) because they no longer have to use the features that come with an active account.  But now, when they receive a document that requires their signature, EEG, an error message indicating that they need access to their account in order to see and sign the agreement.  Why what happened?  Since the person signing a document is not required to have an account.

    Hello Frankd17,

By default, a signatory has no need to have an E-Sign account in order to sign the document, and if they did not, it must be active. If you wish, we can remove the disabled your account users and convert them unharmed (and active) so they esign documents. You can me EchoSign Inbox email address. • iMessage didn't activate account iCloud on Mini, ok on iPhone and iPad

To from the topic March 7, 2016 (approximate, not exact date), unable to activate iCloud account on iMessage (version 9.2) on a Mac Mini, OS 10.11.3.  He has worked well with iCloud account active prior to this date.  Since the update OS 10.11.4 and problem persists. During an attempt to "activate" iCloud account in Messages, I asks me to connect with my Apple ID.  The name is displayed correctly, the password was entered correctly, then the password appears to be being accepted, the icon of iMessage in "accounts" screen turned on continuously for about 15 seconds, then a message: "could not sign on iMessage.  An error occurred during activation.  Try Again. "On the Panel to the screen in red, is a message"an error has occurred during authentication. "Messages has 3 other accounts currently activated;  using Jabber, Google Talk and Hello.

    Action taken:

    • I changed the name of the Apple ID account on all 3 devices, disconnected and signed again.  iPhone and iPad work very well and are synchronized;  iCloud on the Mini works for calendar and Contacts, but not Messages.
    • In the Messages, I turned off accounts Jabber, Google Talk, Hello and tried to activate iCloud, failed, same result.
    • I've disabled and turned off the Messages on iPhone and iPad, restarted both devices, turned on and Messages helped once again, with the same result, no resolution.
    • I've updated the operating system on the Mini to the most recent 10.11.4, restarted and no resolution.  Calendar and Contacts are synchronized between Mini, iPhone, iPad, but not Messages.

    Any suggestions?

  • iMessage syncs with the iPhone

iMessage to sync between my iPhone and a MacBook Pro, but is no longer do.  I followed the "fixes" proposed in different threads here and elsewhere.  Here is some information on my devices:

MacBook Pro running v - 10.11.2 El Capitan

    iPhone 5 v - 9.2

On my Mac, when I open iMessage, contacts each have the word "Offline" under their names.  Contact selected in the field 'To' his name in a red background, and whenever I try to send a message, I get a "Not submitted" notification  When I open iMessage preferences > accounts - there are two accounts listed: my iCloud / account iMessage Apple and Hello.  Both are 'greyed out' and is not accessible when I click on them.  My iCloud / Apple iMessage account says "(inactive).

In system preferences > iCloud - I am connected to iCloud

I followed exactly the steps of the sequence suggested by the two GregCAust and brenden dv to this thread of transmission of text Message confirm code will not be displayed in Mac without success.  I repeated the steps proposed in each several times.

On my iPhone, when I go to settings > Messages - disable iMessage then turn it back on, once it activates and presents the "Text Message Forwarding" option, after you click on the button Activate, I get the message "Text Message Forwarding" where do I enter the code that appears on my Mac but code never appears on my Mac.

However, when I activate iMessage on my iPhone, I get the following message on my Mac: "your Apple ID and phone number are now used on a new iPhone iMessage. .  If you recently signed in "iPhone" you can ignore this notification. "After you click OK in this message, and then trying to activate forwarding Message text again, I still don't no notification of a code displayed on my Mac.  When I try to send another message in iMessage on my Mac, I always get an undelivered notification and SMS message bubble is green.

I hope someone can help.  Thank you

  • I can't log out of my Imessage

Hi there, there are a few pieces to this issue

A few years back, I have connected my iphone to my ACCT to apple 5. I recently got a 6 new s the Iphone and everything, even the parameters transferred from my old iphone 5. Due to the new phone and the previous settings, I can click is no longer on icloud, imessage, facetime etc because they are "grayed out" and therefore can not connect my phone number to my imessage mac account.

I hope this makes sense so far.

So what I'm trying to understand here is that either:

-How can I "non-gris" these settings (how can I switch on and off since its "locked" imessage)

-How can I connect my phone number to my mac if I can't log on to my account on my iphone 6s imessage

First try to reset the new iPhone. If that doesn't resolve it, go to settings > iCloud and sign your account, reset again, and then sign in iCloud.

If she is still upward, restore iPhone and charge it the most recent backup (sign in iCloud if prompted).  This erases the data, but get it back you by loading the backup.

If she is always upward, restore again but do not load a backup because it may be damaged.  This is a last resort because you have to start over with all your account settings, the settings preferences and you will lose data such as text and call history, data app, etc.

  • iMessages - out of 'Available' on 'Offline '.

In iMessages > Preferences I think I chose to stay as being available at all times, open the application start upward, toward the top of the icon in the menu BUT when I go out iMessage to go to the post office or elsewhere to check, it says that my status is "offline" with the 'available' with a green dot next to it (does that mean only available remains open to messages?)

What are 'offline' in iMessages?  We expect a new baby in the family and annoying that iMessage could go Offline without my knowledge.  Help, please. Thank you for your time and your consideration.

Trail and error found a way where the iMessage > didn't help.  What I have learned which is not mention in 'Help' for this application is that if only the Hello [iMessages > Preferences > accounts] is operational is this "burst available in Offline" can't.  Second, we learned that it is on the enabled and show Hello icon (bottom left of screen iMessages when selected in the accounts) a secondary time clicked and chose on this 'available' pop-up window can be chosen - and remains locked in and functional as the chosen option.  Is at least my experience in settling the issue, presented so far.

  • How can I block all iMessages to my Apple ID

I tried to find an answer to this, and it seems that the answers all seem to be related, but not the same...

There a long time (about 4 years ago) I used to have an iPhone. I am no more (positioned on a phone non - IOS), but the same ID Apple I used then is what I use on my Mac and my iPad. However, my contacts who have iPhones see I still have an Apple ID and that she sometimes send me an iMessage. They report that they start to type my name and my Apple ID appears. When they do, the message is delivered to my Mac and my iPad, but obviously not on my phone, so I sometimes don't get for hours. What my contacts were really doing was to send me an SMS or an MMS on my phone.

Is there a way I can simply remove my all imessages Apple account so that my contacts no longer see the possibility to send me an iMessage? Being so turn off Apple of my account services (like from my iPad FaceTime, for example)?

    Thanks for your help.
