iLife: System requirements - Apple Support

iMovie 10.0.1

  • OS X Mavericks
  • 2 GB of memory (4 GB recommended)

You are using an outdated version of OS X 10 iMovie does not work with.

I would update to El Capitan 10.11.4.

10.1.1 iMovie is the last update iMovie however

Mavericks 10.9 and 10.10 Yosemite were interrupted, so they are not in the App Store to download and install. The only way to get these versions of OS X is already installed on your Mac, or related to an Apple ID, you own.

How can I save a project as an 'iMovie project file' and share it with others so that they can change whatever they want in it? Using iMovie 10.1.1

Do not save as a project file option as in iMovie iPad.

Don't see anything in the events of iMovie folder.

You must share a comprehensive library, if you create a library containing only the desired project and its associated events.  Note that other people must use exactly the same version of iMovie and if you have media from your library which comes from the library from another application (for example. Photos) must be "consolidated" library.  See: http://help.apple.com/imovie/mac/10.1/#/mov882dee351

Frankly, this is not a simple thing or practice to do so.

  • What email sending of iMovie made address the video to if you share e-mail?!

Basically, I exported just my movie in iMovie theater and the option to share by e-mail but who does not send too! Have I just sent it to everyone in my contacts! ??? HELPPPPPPP?

who sends it also! Have I just sent it to everyone in my contacts! ??? HELPPPPPPP?

After clicking on "Action > Mail ', iMovie makes the video file and then open a 'new message '. This can take some time. In the "new messages" you can enter the e-mail address of the person you want to send the video.

  • How do I share a video, iMovie Theater on Flickr?

I made some home movies in iMovie and they are currently in

Theatre.  When I try to share I don't give me no option to share on Flickr, which is

where I want to share?  Help!  wasted 2 hours already!

    Thank you

iMovie is not built in sharing on Flickr. Share your project file and save it to the desktop. Use Flickr download app which is available in the App store.

  • share iMovie

I created a family movie using imovie and added a piece of music from my iTunes library. Can I share the film to social media sites, or am I limited by laws the copyright of music possible?

    Yes.

Try the instructions here > publish movie on YouTube, Facebook, Vimeo, or CNN iReport

  • 10.1.2 iMovie will not share video

I imported my MP4 videos in iMovie 10.1.2 (6, 15 minute segments), put them in a timeline.

This is for me the beachball if I try to play the video captures. So I completed the timeline and tried to share the video.

It gives me error 60, sharing on Vimeo, or writing to the disk. Closed the other apps, and done the same thing with the same result.

Closed Time machine and tried again. Same result.

Tried to export a lower resolution. Same result.

    Restarted the Mac. Same result.

She does not render something in the background, apparently.

So before that I just throw away entirely and try FCP - it is just useless, or is there something obvious that I can do?

Let her go for 3 days with no user feedback is not an acceptable answer.

It does not give any feedback during execution of the task.

    Thoughts?

Error 60 is a rendering error. Since you also see the beachball during playback iMovie is unhappy with the project. Do playing clips ok in the browser or beachball again? You said these are clips MP4 but what are the rest of the features i.e. codec and resolution? Some have reported the fixing of this problem by creating a new library copying clips on. You can also try to create a new project.

  • iMovie Export / share error

I used Mac for more than six years and created more than 100 iMovie on four different Macs.  I'm certainly not a professional, but do consider myself a novice more either.  Recently, I created three movies using iMovie.  With each one, I get the following error when I try and share/export the movie.

The operation could not be completed. (error com.apple.Compressor.CompressorKit.ErrorDomain - 1).

I have already created many films, using iMovie, on this computer.

I "moved" the project to final cut pro and received the same error message.

    :-(

Any suggestions?  I don't know where to go from here.

    Thank you

Maybe some clips are corrupt, and you can check for this, although probably not on three different movies.

I thought maybe that the clips were shot in 50 images per second that iMovie does not have 50 images per second, but I don't know if the CPF can return

Your destination drive has enough space?

I hope others will weigh in here.

  • Incapable of / the share of exports of iMovie

    Hello

I can't try to share/export iMovie (10.1.1) to a file. The process hangs at a random time or throws an error 10008.

It does not matter what video I try to export, for 2-3 months I always get the same result. As you can imagine, it's very frustrating.

  • iMovie doesn't share my film sequence by sequence

    Hello world

I'm new to iMovie. I'm running iMovie 10.1.1 when I try to share my movie, he doesn't share my film sequence by sequence (Cup-by-Cup)

It will not share the full movie only 3 clips in the whole movie 43 minutes ago. Thank you!

Sorry if this is a silly question but have you created a new project and dragged your clips in the pane of the event in the calendar of the project?

If you have, make sure that an item in the timeline is selected.  If you select an item in the case where the pane then share it will share just this clip and nothing else.  (The currently selected element will have a yellow border).

IMovie crashed when trying to share a movie at the theater.

How can I recover the film in order to share this file and to the theatre?

How to stop the background task so that I can use iMovie?

    Hello chattychatty,.

Thank you for using communities of Apple Support.

I understand that iMovie will leave whenever you launch the application after trying to share to the theatre.  To start with this issue where iMovie can not open, I would you please create an iMovie library and see if iMovie opens with this new library:

    Create a new library

    1. Choose file > open library > new.

    2. In the Save dialog box appears, type a name for the new library and navigate to the location where you want to save it.

The default location is the movies folder in your home folder.

    3. Click Save.

A new library is created at the chosen location, and an empty event with the current date is created.

iMovie (2013): work with multiple libraries

If iMovie opens in the new library, we know that there is a problem with your existing library.  The good news is that your information is not lost, since you are able to move your projects and media:

Copy or move projects, events, or the clips between the libraries, or drives

    1. Connect a hard disk that contains the library target to your computer, or copy the library target on your computer.

    2. Choose file > open library and choose an option from the submenu.

You can choose among libraries recently opened at the top of the submenu, locate an existing library on your computer, or create a new library.

    3. The selected library opens in the list of libraries, with the first selected event and its content is displayed in the browser.

    4. In the libraries list, select the event that contains the item you want to move or copy.

    5. In the browser, select the item you want to move or copy.

Note: To select multiple items, hold down the command key when you click the items that you want to select or drag a marquee around the items.

    6. Do one of the following:

      • To move items between events or libraries: drag the clip or the project to another event or a library.

      • To copy items between events or libraries: Option-do drag the clip or project to another event or library first slipping and then by pressing the Option key when you drag.

Please report back with your findings!

    Take care.

  • How can I share my iMovie with people who have windows PC

I recently did an iMove I would share with friends who have a PC instead of a Mac Windows.   The file is about 6 GB is size, and I want them to be able to watch the movie as a high resolution if possible.    How do I convert an iMovie into a format viewable windows and provide to them?   I have a MACBookPro using OS X Yosemite 10.10.5 version and my iMovie is version 10.1

Create a video DVD and send it to them?

  • Can I share files to editable iMovie project?

I'm working on a video file, and a colleague I would like to make a montage as well. Is it possible to send the project to change them, and then they send it to me? It sems like the older versions had a more accessible file, but I can not locate the (or the info on it) for the current version.

Using iMovie 10.1.2 on Yosemite, iMac 27 "4K

    Bill F, Jacksonville, FL

This somewhat difficult, but possible.  First, I would put the project and all the events he needs in a separate library, because you will need to send the library complete to your colleague and even this library is likely to exceed the limit of 5 GB of Apple MailDrop or other free file transfer services (and it will take a long time to download).  Is may be easier to view the library on a memory stick.  If you have included all media in other libraries of Apple (iTunes, Photos etc.) you will need to consolidate library (see: http://help.apple.com/imovie/mac/10.1/#/mov882dee351) so that these elements are copied in the library and not referenced to the original.  Because Apple frequently changed the format of database of library iMovie between updates (even minor ones), your colleague must use exactly the same version.  Unless the memory stick is in the format of Apple (not usual default FAT - formatted) and fast USB (3), they should copy the copy of the library with the finder on their hard drive and then copy it on the handle after the change.

Note that if your colleague will provide a part separate from the film so it would be easier for them to create it as a separate project, then combine the two projects later.

    Geoff.
