• dv2500 screen flashes and freezes and the white bars (oh my)

  Have a dv2500, (or dv2530ea if you want really specific). The screen flickers and freezes of once power is on. I also get random horizontal white bars. When the screen freezes happening slowly in white. A small amount of pressure to parts of the monitor case can return to the normal screen that will it stay like that without maintaining a constant pressure can be difficult.

  It is out of warranty.

  This can be corrected? Should I open up? Just a bad connection somewhere maybe?

  -All right, so just in case where any googling leads anyone here I thought I should give the solution, (I have found elsewhere ¬). The problem got worse, anyway. The screen shot for this fade to white mixed with white lines problem to have color of the horizontal lines. The colored lines seemed corrospond to what should be displayed on a single line of the display. Unfortunately, this single line has been posted on all lines of the screen, which gives these horizontal lines. And not intermittently, constantly. Fixable by applying pressure to the screen, but it means to have a screen of work I could not take my hand off the monitor case, not an ideal scenario by a stretch.

  Anyway, it turns out the circuits at the rear of the Panel led made a bad contact somewhere. There was something communicating with display circuit which should not have been in contact with led back panel, give me my damaged screen. To resolve this issue, open the window of degonder the display panel and find the offending area. I did it by applying pressure in specific areas and slide the paper behind the circuit on the rear panel (this obligatory sheet of aluminum at the top of the screen, which was not a problem of lifting, it's just paper). With the bad identified contact area, I could get some plain paper business cards and stuff (quietly) between the plate and the rear panel. Solve the problem. One to the down and dirty round, but very effective and - I believe - very stable one.

• Airport Extreme connected to TIVO: why I can not change Type firewall for IPv4.  Field displays IPv6 and is grayed out so I can't change.

  TIVO requires certain ports to be unblocked.  So I try to add the ports requiring TIVO.  But when you try to add the default Type of firewall IPv6 Port Mapping ports and I can't change the value of the IPv4 Port Mapping because the input field is grayed out and no is not accessible.  With Port IPv6 mapping I enter values in all areas except for the IPv6 address because I do not know what value to enter.  I think the button 'save' ' is not available to hit because the IPv6 address field is empty or not valid.  Note: my router Mode is ' Off (Bridge Mode).  Same questions if my router DHCP Mode.

  I changed my router Mode DHCP and NAT, then on the Type of firewall on the default page add ports, IPv4 Port Mapping and I could add ports but with this setting, I couldn't connect to internet in my Airport Extreme: my status remains orange light flashing.

  I use Comcast and my Airport Extreme is connected to my Comcast router using ethernet.

  I use my Airport Extreme as a router (wired and WIRELESS) and as a backup device.

  My TIVO is connected to my Airport Extreme using ethernet.

  Golden in the networking rule. ....... Never try to configure port mapping when you have two devices on the same network the two acting as a router.

  Unfortunately, this is exactly what you're trying to do.

  You have three options:

  (1) run the Comcast router "as what" and configure the port on the device of Comcast mapping... .the airPort Extreme must be configured in Bridge Mode when you do this.

  (2) lance to the AirPort Extreme router Mode of DHCP and NAT and configure the ports on the airport map... the peripheral Comcast must be configured to operate as a simple modem in Bridge Mode when you do this. 

  
  

  (3) lance to the AirPort Extreme router Mode of DHCP and NAT and configure the ports on the airport map... swap Comcast modem/router you have now for a simple modem (it will have only a single Ethernet port).

  In other words, either the Comcast is defined as the router and AirPort Extreme is in Bridge Mode... or... the AiPort Extreme is configured as a router and Comcast must be configured in Bridge Mode.

  If you choose Option 1, then we can not help you on a matter of Comcast router. In bridged Mode, the AirPort Extreme requires no configuration.

  If you choose Option 2 or Option 3, then we the following port values that the Tivo device needs:

  Public or UDP ports

  Public TCP

  UDP private

  Private TCP

  In addition, you need to find the MAC address for the TIVO.  It is a long code that looks something like this, for example:

  A1: B2: C3: D4: E5: F6

  A link to the Tivo instructions for port mapping would also be very useful.  I have done this with a TIVO in the past, but is for some years.

  Hi, it seems that my race tool does not work in Flash CC.  Options to create something other than a continuous line or STROKE are grayed out, so no dotted line, no line of rags etc..  It is the same that I use the Rectangle tool and try to change the line around him, or if I use the online tool.  I can't just to create a continuous line, no other options?  Is there a solution to this please?

• Headphone issues and options grayed out reading preferences

  The basic problem is that when I play music via iTunes, if I plug my headphones, it covers only playback through the computer speakers, not headphones.
  If I closed iTunes, plug in the earphones, THEN restart iTunes and play music, it will come through the headphones, but if I unplug, it is paused and not restart, even if I plug the headphones insert it again.
  Although I can change speakers headphones by stopping iTunes and restarting, I'm often trailing long playlists, it is not practical to do so.
  Other advice, it seems that I have to change the "audio playback" setting using "Session of Windows Audio' 'Direct Sound', or something similar, HOWEVER, when I go in Edition > Preferences > reading, the box is grayed out, and I can't change it.

  Any advice on how I can do so I can change the option, or any other fixes for the problem of helmet? Thank you very much

  Direct Sound is the vastly superior choice if you have several outputs such as speakers and headphones and now if have to stop iTunes whenever I output to the speaker.

• Hosts and vCenter grayed out?

  IM Foglight v7 running in trial mode.

  I added 2 systems vCenter. A 5.0 vCenter and a 5.5.

  I've added both in Foglight using a service with VMware admin rights account.

  5.5 system comes quickly and everyting monitors we nice.

  The system 5.0 is added and then hosts, etc data warehouses are grayed out. No idea what I'm missing here? Is there a limit on trial key to single vCenter?

  If everything was normal, and for some reason goes wrong, I suspect that the settings of Photoshop file has been corrupted.

  Hold Cmd-Opt-shift and run Photoshop. Click Yes to delete the settings file and let Photoshop finishes loading. Let me know if this helps.

  I know I have used CMYK and adjustments because I upgraded to CC2015, but now it is grayed out. When I upgraded, I noticed that I was getting the black boxes, which disappeared when I zoomed in and out, but still annoying. I found a fix for this, but change my treatment of graphics settings in preferences. Then my perspective string is grayed out, so I went to normal and that fixed, but now no matter what I do, CMYK is grayed out. I can convert to CMYK using an action that I put in place, but I would still like to use my settings.

  It is in fact a false alarm, I had a ton of doc. Open in PS and restarted PS and Modes are back. I would have thought to do this first.

  Well good if you found the solution and sure, depending on the RAM and how loaded your MAC is, some functions may be set aside. Sometimes my PS and 3D in order not to feel alone

  I recently installed HPDM 4.5 SP5 on one of our servers with the intention to create and deploy an image WES7 T510 light clients. I copied an image directly from one of the configured thin clients my company but when I import the image into HPDM it shows as grayed out.  Trying to capture an image of the device directly through HPDM always fails.

  The master repository seems to work very well as any test all return successfully.

  The log files indicate that your master repository regulator was not well configured. The master repository control cannot connect to DM server...

  Please check

  1. parameters of the Controller.conf repository - defaults to... \HP device Manager\MasterRepositoryController\Controller.conf

  2. the value in the dialog box editor repository - tools-> management-> repository repository master Double click

  Make sure that the above two values are point in the same direction.

  For example, C:\Inetpub\Ftproot configured as root FTP server

  Your ReposPath in controller.conf value C:\Inetpub\Ftproot

  You must enter anything in the path of the FTP protocol settings field in the repository Editor dialog box.

  You can send me the controller.conf shot and the screen of the dialog editor repository for troubleshooting.

  Just FYI: 'Test' button will check only the port and Protocol for the device target, it does not check the accuracy of the path. This is something that we will strengthen in the future version.

  On photoshop cs5, I have problems with the gray tab Image crop tool. Also, the icon is hidden in the tools Panel. Did someone having this same problem in CS5?

  For harvest of command in the menu of the image to work, you either have a selection active or

  The crop in the toolbox tool is different from the command crop in the image menu.

  You can either use the crop tool in the Toolbox to crop an image or make a selection

  with the Rectangle tool and then use the command crop in the image menu.

• Black wired xbox 360 controller for windows flashes and freezes games

  I installed the xbox 360 accessories 1.2, I plugged my black Xbox 360 wired controller for windows on the computer. I let it install its drivers. The ring of light continues to blink all the time, no matter how many times I have uninstalled and reinstalled the program and drivers, it continues to Flash, I even looked for updates for the drivers. When I start a game it also works very well unless I have pull triggers or go at my card or try to pick a lock. (the game is skyrim) It freezes whenever I have try them and I unplug the controller and it thaws and if I plug it back in, it does the same thing again. I tested the controller on a real xbox 360 (works fine), but it doesn't seem to work on my pc. Any help please, but serious answers only.

  I tried to install the version of Flash 10.1.85 all day; so far, I succumbed.

  No matter if I try to install it from the web or if I use the "install_flash_player.exe" Installer, I get the same results at Pentecost: when the time comes to actually install Flash, the Burgundy/black installation box appears, BUT! : the [INSTALL] button is gray and the ONLY button that is active is {QUIT].  So, the installation of the reader never even begins.

  My setup of all facilities attempts always log looks like this:

  I undertook all the remedies offered by the Adobe installation issues page.  I used the uninstall many times utility to make sure that I don't have an old Flash - or remnants of an old Flash - installation on my box anywhere.  I downloaded and ran the "reset_fp10.cmd' with the 'subinacl' Windows Resource Kit tool until I'm blue in the face.  I created "exceptional" in the Windows Firewall for the Installer "install_flash_player.exe" and active, he.  The ToolTip properties 'install' tells me that the installer contains the version 10.1.r85.  I'M the administrator of this machine.  JavaScript has worked in all.  The ADobe site is not blocked by any program, I have to my knowledge.  I had my anti-virus (MSE) program turned OFF throughout all of my efforts to get a Flash installation.

  I have NOTHING seems to get the installer to actually launch and begin the installation of the Flash.

  I've been using macromedia Flash since Adobe first published the thing years; and I have, over the years, made several facilities and updates the Flash Player; and I've just never met a condition as absolutely bizarre than that.  The actual install button is just DEAD.  In other words, "is not."

  NOTE: I indeed took the Adobe web utility to activate the Flash privacy features when I had my previous version of Flash still installed.

  What in the world could block this installation to even begin?

  Y at - there someone who can tell me how to get the actiually 'install' to start.

  It takes effect after the next time you exit and restart Firefox.
