iMovie 10.1.2 Photo alignment

I'm trying to align my photos on the left side of the preview screen. In this way, I'll be able to easily add text to the right. How to achieve this?

Thank you very much for the help!

Align your photos to left is to use the split function on a black background (or whatever color), with text superimposed on the background.  Scrolling title can be adapted to write the text and then you can take a screenshot of it for a static effect, import the screen shot in your project and then superimpose your photo, above, then split screen by selecting the text overlay function (the button that looks like to the overlap of the places in the toolbar at the top of your screen).

  • iMovie can't see photos optimised and stored in iCloud

    Hello

Apparently if you chose "Optimize Mac storage" in the preferences of Photos, and you use iCloud library, then apps like iMovie and Final Cut Pro will not see your photos at all. Sometimes you can see some pictures at random, unless some reason OS mechanism optimization flying over, but you will have trouble to get your recent photos.

The only way to import necessary photos is to export (file-> export) in Photos app.

At this point I don't know if cela a feature or bug, but I'm sure it's less easy to use and I can hardly find a reason to do so.

    Maybe I'm missing something?

    Can someone please confirm this?

    Kind regards

It's not a bug, but how it works.  To use one of the photos in another application or project in Photos full size version must be downloaded beforehand.

  • Why iMovie does not recognize photos in projects?

Why iMovie09 does not recognize photos in projects?

I made a new projects and adds several still images. Photos are displayed in the project field, but right the screen remains black.

I checked one of my old projects with still frames that will work perfectly, but it has the same problem - the photos do not appear on the screen more.

Is there something that can be done? I also noticed that I can't get iPhoto to iMovie to add photos, not more, and Photo Booth is available.

An iMovie11 upgrade would solve the problem? I do not have doen that, due to the large amount of results negative comments on iMovie 11 receipt.

This is a bug widely reported with iMovie versions 8 or 9 ('09 or 11) under El Capitan.  Only iMovie 10.1.1 works 100% on El Capitan.

  • Top paintings photo alignment

    Hey there...

I recently started working with InDesign, and I have a question about images placed above a table.

I'm looking for an easy way to align the pictures placed directly above the columns in a table.  I don't know if there is a way to do it and I'm not super well-known, but I'm looking for shortcuts or processes.

I have a table with columns and I have images placed above each column.  I can't align the images proportionally above each column.  InDesign will help me to align the images with the same space between them, but this is still not the columns.  Am I doing this wrong, there at - it an easier way?

Thanks for the advice, help or points in the right direction.

InDesign CC has a graphic called newish cells feature.

Place your cursor in a cell, and then choose table > convert graphic image. This adds a graphic image in the cell, to the same size. If you resize the columns or rows the frame will follow you.

You can change the image regardless of the structure to keep the image inset on all four sides.

  • Photos library forgotten intermittently in iMovie

    Hey everybody!

I'm helping a friend with his computer which is having a weird problem where iMovie forget intermittently the computer's default photo library.

I searched the forums and feel a little Google-Fu to no results. Hoping that someone here has heard of him and can help.

    Hardware specifications:

    iMac 21.5 "(retina 4K, end of 2015)"

    3.3 Intel Core i7, 16GB, Iris Pro graphic 6200

    10.11.5 OSX

    Photos Version: 1.5 (370.42.0)

    Version of iMovie: 10.1.2

    Symptom of failure:

When you open iMovie library of Photos may not appear in the sidebar called "libraries."

Friend is then unable to take pictures from Photos to slide directly into the timeline without doing it manually by moving pictures on the desktop, then in iMovie.

    Temporary difficulties (though not ideal):

Opening and closing iMovie has 50-75% likely to appear at the library.

    Notes:

    1. a friend has a large library of Photos (600 GB and more) of his travels and compiles pictures and videos to family and friends.

    2. due to the huge amount of space needed for ALL of its data/backups (not only the pictures), she was sold and configure a Lacie 5big network RAID (20 to total)

    3. the iMac internal 2 TB HDD software account and installed OSX. Its Home folder is located in the 5Big and OSX heading towards it.

    4. the question is extremely intermittent, opening and closing of the application while the photo library is present can remove next time, iMovie is open.

    Things I've tried:

-Creation of a new library of Photos (empty) adding like 20 pictures and then defines it as the default library in preferences. (Question persists)

-Updated all updates of software available.

-Re-install OSX 10.11 and then upgrade to 10.11.5 again.

-Checked to make sure that 5Big is not put the discs "to sleep" after a while, removing the connection to OSX. (It is not)

-Check all the cables and connections to make sure that the drive is connected properly and safely.

-Machine closed down, started 5Big first, he gave 10-15 seconds to establish and then lit iMac to see if OSX has had enough time to 'find' the iMovie library.

-Make sure that the Photos (the application) is closed before opening iMovie, tried also with Photos open before you open iMovie. (Issue still present in both scenarios)

I guess something is in conflict with OSX and RAID 5Big... but I have no idea where to start looking.

Help, please! Please and thank you!

    Aaron.

  • Can't see the photos from the Photos App in iMovie

    Hello

I came home from vacation and wanted to do quick video for my friends.
Open iMovie, clicked on the photo library and was expecting to see my recent photos (at least). However, there were a few random photos year and months old, some of them I have deleted enough of course, don't know how they ended up there.

I tried to reconnect photos iCloud and resynchronize, however anything.

Any ideas what to do? Of course broke him "it works"

    Thanks in advance

Looks like your problem is with Photos not iMovie. You can see your photos in the photos app? Using iCloud photo library? If yes then maybe you need to wait for iCloud Sync photos to your Mac.

  • Importing video into Imovie Photos

    Hey,.

Since IPhoto has been replaced by pictures I can't understand how to import the video I took on my phone in uploaded photos.

    I use IMovie 10.1.2 and ElCapitan 10.11.5.

IMovie opens well and all the media I had in the past is there and usable. I can't drag Photos videos in IMovie and when I try to import in this I can't open pictures and see new videos.

I promised my girls coach I would burn the video on DVD from our last game of gold medal to show our team party end year tomorrow. '

    I'm desperate! Can anyone help?

I'd still be for in your debt!

I can see the videos in my library of Photos in iMovie, like this while watching a project:

    • Select the photo library in the sidebar with the libraries.  Wait.
    • Set the switch on 'Albums' and select one of my albums, that contains only videos:

This will allow me to drag video clips in the timeline.

Is your library of Photos stored locally or a library iCloud?  If the videos are only in iCloud, select the videos you want to use in iMovie and use "file > export > export original...". "to export your videos in a folder on the desktop.  Then add them in here to your iMovie project.

Drag / drop photos won't work, because by dragging will export just a preview of the edited version.  It reduces the quality of your videos.

Added: The menu on the left of the search box should be set to 'All' or 'Video', no pictures. Toggle it to "videos", to ensure that it is excluding videos.

And if your photo library does not at all appear in iMovie, look at the Photos > Preferences > General.  The option 'Use as system library' must be gray, to indicate that it is your library of photos of current system and other applications can access.

If you need to change this option, leave pictures and leaving iMovie after you activated.

  • iMovie and photo library

How can I open my of Foto-photoslibrary in iMovie (10.2.2 It is gray and I cannot import into iMovie.

You do not import the photo library in iMovie. iMovie automatically displays the photo library. When you say that it is grey, I assume you mean in the preferences of Photos. This means that it is the library system, which is what you want. If you don't see the photo library in the library list in iMovie try opening the pictures before you launch iMovie.

  • How to add Photos images to iMovie or iDVD

I have an iMac late 2009 with El Capitan 10.11.3 version.

I can't move images from Photos to iMovie or iDVD.   Help says iPhotos use that does not contain the photos I want to spend.  Help also said cannot move photos between iPhotos and Photos.

    George

What version of iMovie do you have? iMovie 10 shows your photo library in the media pane of the project. You can directly add pictures and videos to your film project of this component.

iDVD will probably never been updated to be able to see the photo library. Use the file menu "file > import > Image" to import photos from a folder.

  • My Apple apps will still work when I switch to El Capitan?

First of all, I apologize if it is published in an inappropriate category. I wanted to post in Mac applications, but it has been blocked.

I have a late 2009 13 "MacBook Pro. I soon will be upgrading in El Capitan (saved on a bootable disc) to Snow Leopard (do a clean install on a new SSD). I know that new versions of Safari, iMovie, Garage Band and Photos comes with El Capitan. But my old applications 2009 as iMovie HD, iDVD and others still work when I upgrade?

As for iTunes? I just checked it and it says that it is currently at version 11.4.

Are there apps that I have to buy?

I mean, I know that many people do not really care pictures from iPhoto. If I don't like a photo, can I just transfer on my current version of iPhoto to my Time Machine backup?

    Thank you for your help.

  • Video images inexplicably truncated

I use iMovie v10.1 with OSX 10.10.5. I imported the video size 640 x 480 You tube. Video clips are great in the browser, but when I move them in time for the final assembly line, I noticed that the clips were truncated to the point where the top of the heads have been cut. This was NOT the case in the browser. I tried to adjust the size of the clips without success. I also tried to change the size of the video by using a converter, but in all cases, the clips were truncated in the time line. I was unable to find adjustments within the iMovie app. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Mike

iMovie 10 works only while your clips are 4:3 in 16:9 format.   In iMovie under 'Placement of Photo' preferences, you can choose 'Fit' which don't cut something else will leave black bars on each side.

  • Adobe Photoshop 7 layer Help

How do you add an image from your computer (IE, my pictures) of an existing layer? As someone who is very new to this sort of thing, I can't find an answer anywhere.

    Thank you!

    Hi rksegal1,

Since I use your photoshop 7, you will not be able to use the command set for jpeg files.

Here's a way to get two pictures in the same document in photoshop 7:

    1. open the two files in photoshop 7 (File > Open)

    2. place the documents on the screen that you can see both of them.

    3. Select the tool move (press V on the keyboard to select the tool move)

    4. slide the tool move a document on the screen to the other.

    5. Once you have moved into the other photo photo, release the mouse button to drop.

    6. Optional: press the SHIFT key just before placing the photo in your other photo align pictures or put the photo in the center of the document.

Now you should have both you photos in the same document as you can see in the layers palette (window > layers)

The photos will be on separate layers.

You can now close the other photo if you like.

I want to create a slideshow of paintings with a musical background. My 'paintings' is as JPEGs into iPhoto, and my music track is in Garage Band or iTunes. When I go to iMovie to start a project, it shows not possible to import photos from iphoto, but only these photos taken using "photo booth".

Any suggestions would be most appreciated.

    Thank you very much.

If you click windows, and then click OK for Media you should find the iPhoto library under library.  You can then open an event and select a photo.
