iMovie crashes while editing video clip
Hello
Whenever I try to edit a video clip in the library on imovie, just put my cursor over them to view the clip causes my imovie crashing. It's a lenghy-er clip, long of only 6 min. except that everything works fine. I have imovie and the latest OS. Any suggestion would be great, thanks.
iMovie crashes while I have it change. Any ideas on how to solve this problem?
"If the accident happens when you change a particular clip then remove and re-import the clip. If it happens on several clips then I copy all the items in the timeline panel, create a new project and paste there the clips. If it persists in the new project try to open iMovie, hold down the command and option and delete the preferences. "(Jim Wanamaker - June 8, 2016)

10.1.1 iMovie crashes while editing
Hello!
I tried to edit my AVCHD (103 clips, 30 minutes) video clips and iMovie crashes all the time. The error message on the Console is "iMovie: error AVF: ability to Perf check failed: 0xe00002bc"and something like"..". otherwise taken iMovie causing excessive Awakenings... »
What can I do?
I did this kind of work with iMovie several times without crashing.
My operating system is Yosemite 10.10.5
This error seems to be similar to the 50 error and a mistake is made. This indicates in general media corruption or it could be a corruption of transition/title. Not easy to solve, you can extend the chronology and scan slowly clips to see if something strange happens. Another approach is to fork the project, remove half of it and see if that will export. Continue to iterate this process until you find the corruption. Not funny, but I've not seen any other suggestions.

iMovie 10.1.2 falls down during editing of a film, usually by doing something like adding a title or a transition. Failed attempts to restart. Try to reboot with the option key + command allow you to remove preferences. Then either receive an error indicating that the graphics card is incompatible or the application block requiring a force quite. Restart or stop the iMac translates the suspended system requiring a manual stop holding down the Start button. Restart in Safe Mode and then the normal startup will allow iMovie to load. But after a few minutes of work with the program, it crashes and scenario again. I use El Capitan 10.5.11 on an iMac of 2013. I deleted the iMovie app and reloaded it, no change. Someone has an idea for a fix?
What are the specifications of your clips you want to change? Try to create a new user and see if FCPX is behaving.

iMovie crashes while I have it change. Any ideas on how to solve this problem? It may be a file corrupted in the movie, but I still wouldn't be able to delete it in iMovie because it crashes. I'm pretty well stuck unless one of you could help out. I would really appreciate it.
I tried also to edit a very old video and no crashes here so I don't know if it is a corrupt file. I don't know how to access.
If the failure occurs when you change a particular clip then remove it and re-import that clip. If it happens on several clips then I copy all the items in the timeline panel, create a new project and paste there the clips. Passage to the SSD for late 2008 MacBook for editing video: Samsung 850EVO or Pro?
Hello
There are a lot of things out there on the upgrade the bowels of SSD and I narrowed my choice to Samsung 850 Evo or Pro, but there are some details that I found not covered elsewhere. The idea is to give to my MacBook Pro a few years in addition to be able to edit HD video (currently, it slows to a halt). I'm also upgrading to 8 GB of RAM.
My questions are: both the EVO 850 and 850 Pro actually work in my model, old as it is?
I would notice the difference between the two while editing video, taking into account the difference and compatibility issues/limitations of price? (Limits of SATA would effectively slow the levels of the EVO Pro?)
If/when I get ahead, it is advisable to keep my entire modification on a with the main files external HARD drive, or should I keep makes it / cache on the SSD drive?
Here are my specs:
MacBook Pro (15 inch, late 2008)
2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor
4 GB 1067 MHz DDR3 memory
Macintosh HD boot disk
NVIDIA GeForce 9400 M 256 MB graphics card
Running OS X El Capitan 10.11.5.
Please keep in mind, I am a techno-idiot and 90% of the above words I learned again in the last two days!
Thanks in anticipation,
Graeme.

Yes.

Probably not. You willing MBP of SATA2 connectivity and the full potential of each SSD not happen.

It's your choice. If the capacity of SSDS is quite large, personally, I like to keep all data on a single disc, but maybe it's not convenient.
Ciao.

Cannot change a video Clip with the pen tool
Hello
I imported video and audio clips to the first, but I can't edit video clips with the pen tool. No line appears on the clip in the timeline panel. However, the audio clips are great and I can use the tool pen on those. Why no line does not appear on the video clips? How to make it stand?
Hey Lee,
do not understand what you mean. On video clips in the past the line seems just when I put the video files in the timeline. I don't see them now, how can I get this line back so that I can manually disappear with the pen tool?
With the extended track, go into the settings menu to display timeline (the key) and select "See the video keyframe."
I hope this helps.
Thank you
Kevin

First step: changing video clips before using them in a longer video?
I'm an absolute beginner. I bought the first Elements 7 and I bought the first Bible and read that.
My question is, first appears to be software designed to help you create a video show by joining photos, audio clips and video clips. Is there a step before this, however, namely editing the clips they come out your camera?
I have been using PhotoShop for years, and in general when I take a picture I open it in PhotoShop and adjust the saturation, brightness, sharpness, perhaps white balance, rotation, if necessary, etc.
Is there another piece of software designed to help make this kind of basic changes to a single video clip? For example, if the clip came out too dark, is it possible to clear the air?
I would appreciate the answers really, and if there is a book or an article that you might suggest about editing video clips I would be recognizing the recommendation!
Stephen,
If you talk about making adjustments in the process of import - similar to the bridge or Lightroom - so I don't think that there is a first equivalent. I could be wrong, but I don't think that first will do, it won't be WinDV or Scenealyzer (other popular tools of import).
However, once you have your captured clip and in a project to create, you can do ALL KINDS of settings. For example, if you right-click on a clip and do appear the properties panel, the 'Image' control has settings for brightness, contrast, hue and Saturation. You can apply to the entire element, or use keyframes to apply different settings.
By clicking on the 'effects' brings up even more options... Gaussian blur, channel mixer, B & W, many many others... You can even make masks in Photoshop.
So in other words, you cannot make these changes through the ingestion of your material (as you can in Photoshop/LR), but once you get the first video will do much the same things as Photoshop.

This is a new and improved feature in iMovie. You must hold down the 'R' key while clicking on the part of the item you want. By default, the full clip will be added to the time line.

IMovie 10 can be used to edit videos of 2 hours?
I live in a community band events for others to view later. Until now, the volunteer writers have used iMovie 6, because this version, say, is the most recent who can edit videos of 2 hours.
I would switch to iMovie 10, which is what I have on my new iMac.
Someone got experience with iMovie allows you to change this kind of long videos of 10? Any tips?
I would just try, but I have to learn iMovie first, never having used it before, and I won't unless she goes to work where I need!
Thank you.
iMac El Capitan
iMovie 10.1.1
There is no limit to the duration of a video project in iMovie 10. You just ned to have sufficient memory on your computer. It may be wise to break up a long project in shorter projects easier to manage, which can be joined together when the editing is complete.
A big differencein iMovie 10 from previous versions is that you can't remove pieces of imported video clips - you can of course use the parts in a project, but the iMovie library still contains the complete imported clips. If this will give problems of space you trim away the unwanted images for example using Quicktime player before its import in iMovie.

How iMovie organizing imported video clips
I just imported quite a few video clips (c. 400) to a folder in my office in iMovie. Most of the clips are pretty short - maybe less than a minute.
I went in the screen of media project and began to watch the clips. I noticed that it doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to the way they are arranged.
Can someone tell me if iMovie organize or sort the clips imported somehow? Thank you.
You can sort the imported clips you want in iMovie 10.1.2. Use the "View menu > sort clips by. command.

Edit 'videos' in iMovie on iOS
Hi, just trying to do something as simple as editing a video in iMovie on iOS, the video source has been imported through iTunes which is a video made using photos on my Mac which is then exported to a video format in 1080 p. Open the videos on the iPad app and it is classified under 'videos' parts very well. However try to modify the said video in iMovie, it can't import and don't even see. I guess simply put my question should be how the hell import a video into my iOS device I can then edit in iMovie for iOS.
Copy the finished film in your app Photos - or - save on iCloud drive - or - he dumped from your Mac to your iPad. You should then be able to access in the media browser in iMovie iOS (as long as they are in a compatible format).

After days of the creation of a filmmaker 'project' I 'saved project' one last time, then reopen and publish a movie. All my video Clips (phtotos) now appear in the Audio editing / music along the bottom with only a video clip standing in line of the video of this 'slide show' of 90 minutes. Is it possible to move these clips to which they belong without having to recreate the whole project?
What happens if you try to read the project in Movie Maker?
Looks like your project .mswmm file is corrupt (starting
Perhaps more than the best approach). The project can be as far
too big and too complex to publish (save) with success as a
video file.I suggest that you create several small projects
and publish (save), each of them in the. WMV video format
and then re-import the collection. To combine WMV files
in a single movie. You can also import collection. Clips WMV to DVD
Manufacturer and each clip, would have become a scene (chapter)
on the DVD.The following article is maybe worth a visit:

my pc crashed... then repaired... now I can't read my video clips from my camcorder from Toshiba?
It would be useful to know what camcorder from toshiba.
Memory, are all quite small pocket, recording cameras a card and HD, probably using mpeg4.
Your cam will have come with a cd with the right codec on it to allow you to play your files on the pc, you will need to reinstall this software. -
