  iMovie does not copy or duplicate. No idea why? I press the option in projects, and nothing happens.

  It only happens in big movies (20 GB of files). Small films seem ok. There is no wheel of progress in the upper right and the players (tried more than one) have enough space.

  It's as if the computer does not take into account my request.

  I could just backup in other words files ('show in finder' and copy it manually), but think that there must be a solution to this.

  I'm running OS X 10.11.6 on a MacBook Pro for 6 months. I would use my Logitech HD Webcam C310 (USB) to import images from a film 8 mm 60 years projector to iMovie, but iMovie does not recognize the camera. FaceTime, however, DOES not recognize the camera, and it appears also in system information. But no matter what I do (restart iMovie, disconnect and reconnect the camera, restart the machine), iMovie displays only the camera, which he calls the "FaceTime HD camera."   I have a Logitech C920 webcam, and it is not recognized by iMovie.  It is recognized by Quicktime Player and Photo Booth applications and with one of these, you can save a movie that you can then import into iMovie.

  Although having desinstalled 10.1.1 Imovie which did not work anylonger since this new version 10.1.1 and reinstalled a 10.1 previous who has worked in Imovie is not more usable. I can't create any project or the whole movie. Who could help me on this topic. Who knows if Apple working to fix this bug. It come from the new version of OX S El Capitan 10.11.3. ? I don't know what to do...

  10.1.1 iMovie works very well under El Capitan 10.11.3 for most people.  updates for iMovie often make changes to the project and not the formats of database event making it impossible the use of the library with an earlier version, however, I don't think that was the case with 10.1.1.  Exactly, what problems you had with 10.1.1?

  iMovie for Mac does not open Costco DVD converts VHS movies at home. I don't know that I was able to do what a few years with an older version of iMovie. There is a limitation with iMovie? DVD of Costco is just a bunch of old family VHS home movies.

  iMovie, current or previous version, is not about DVD, which is a way for the end user.   iDVD is the application designed to work with the DVD, and there are several other design programs that do the same.  However, you can play your DVD on your computer or on a DVD player.

  To get your DVD movies to work with iMovie, you can open the content of the packaging of the DVD to reveal the VOB (video object) files and convert them to a format compatible with iMovie, such as MP4.  In recent years, I did, but I think that you insert the DVD into the disc drive of your computer and then right click on the DVD icon that appears on your desktop to reveal the VOB files you can drag - copy on your desktop.  There are conversion programs videacute, like the free download Handbrake, which can then convert VOB files.    Someone who has done more recently can weigh in here with more information.

• time of transition iMovie does not change

  I read the questions posted on iMovie and the change of the time of transition.   I google the topic and read the messages and watched youtube videos.    BUT - I STILL CAN'T iMovie to edit the duration of transitions.   My clips definitely have more than enough time for them to handle 2-3 second transition but no matter what I do the transition goes back to 1 second.          Maybe someone has a suggestion for me?

  iMovie can be inconsistent at times about the time of transition. Supposedly in 10.1.2 you can double-click on the transition and a window will appear where you can set the time. I found it does not always take. Another way that seems to work is to make a selection in the browser before you add the clip to the timeline, leaving a few seconds on each end of the clamp. One who still works for me is to use the precision Editor. Right-click on the transition and the select precision Editor. In the editor, you can adjust the time of transition.

  This is a bug widely reported with iMovie versions 8 or 9 ('09 or 11) under El Capitan.  Only iMovie 10.1.1 works 100% on El Capitan.

• BUG theatre iMovie does not work since the Sierra

  A clean installed on my iMac end 2013. Since iMovie Theater connecting to iCloud does not work. Spinning Beachball. iCloud in the iMovie Theater tab symbol is not white.   Maybe after the upgrade, you must re - connect to iCloud.   You could try to go to Apple system/preferences/iCloud and see.

  Launch iMovie by holding down the option key and see if you can create a new library. If Yes, then add clips to the timeline and see if iMovie works ok.

• iMovie does not refresh

  I just upgraded my iMac yesterday at the El Capitan software and everything himself renewed except for my iMovie who slept in the same version (9.0.9).   My computer starts booting fine, the HP logo appears and it goes to a black screen with a white '_' blinking at the top left of the screen. It's normal, except that now it is stuck on this screen, unlike before where it would be displayed only for a few seconds.
