Import a .wab file in thunderbird.

All I want to do is import my Outlook 2003 since my old Dell laptop (XP SP3) addresses to my new laptop HP G61 (Win7). I copied the file .wab on a memory stick and that's as much as I can get. I don't see any option in firefox to import the .wab file. IT REALLY SHOULD NOT BE MADE SO HARD TO DO.

If you have Outlook on the same computer:
Tools > import > address book click Next
Select: outlook, click Next

You may need to map the fields.

Otherwise:
You must export the address book in the .csv file.

then Tools > import > address book click Next
Select: text file (Ldif... tab... CSV, txt) and click Next.

If the above is not possible, then you must convert the .wab to a .csv file.

Hi all, how can I import and export MBOX files in Thunderbird?

I tried to install the add-on "ImportExportTools" but it seems that it is no longer recognized by Thunderbird, not the most recent generation.

That this is the case, is no longer seems to be any official method of handling the files MBOX via Thunderbird, which is odd, given that Thunderbird itself announces that it is method of storage of email records is also MBOX files. It seems obvious that Thunderbird should natively support a file format import and export it is used internally

  • How to import a dbx file unique to Windows Live Mail?

I imported my files of dbx to Outlook Express 6 for WLM (Windows 7) last month, but a valuable record has been lost due to corruption. Now, I discovered a forgotten dbx backup that I'm desperate to add to WLM7, but it does not recognize the dbx file. All the advice I have read, says that you can import all OE6 files and folders at once, and that it does not recognize simple records. There is no work around for this? I'm desperate to import this file, but do not want to lose all my other imported files making.

    Help, please!

The reason why you can not get imported WLMail dbx files is because Folders.dbx must be included in the backup. Manually recover dbx files in OE, you can export them.

1: How to restore individual dbx files
    http://www.oehelp.com/backup.aspx#imp1

2: transfer of data from Outlook Express to Windows Live Mail

    For Messages:

In Outlook Express, compact you files first.

Click Outlook Express at the top of the the folder tree so no folders are open. Then: File | Work offline (or double-click on work online in the status bar). File | Folder | Compact all folders. Don't touch anything until the compacting is completed.

    Compress your OE folders:
    http://www.insideoe.com/files/maintain.htm#compact

Copy the * ENTIRE * OE message store folder to a flash drive. (Folders.dbx should be included). Place it on the desktop or another location on the computer using WLMail.

V-2009: open WLMail and: file | Import | Messages | Microsoft Outlook Express 6, and the point where it was saved.

V-2011/2012: Menu button. Import Messages. Microsoft Outlook Express 6, and the point where it was saved.

    Location of OE message store:

In OE: Tools | Options | Maintenance | Store folder will reveal the location of your Outlook Express files. Note the location and navigate on it in Explorer Windows or, copy and paste in start | Run.

In Windows XP the OE User (DBX and WAB) are by default marked as hidden. To view these files in Windows Explorer, you must enable Show hidden files and folders under start | Control Panel | Folder Options icon | Opinion, or in Windows Explorer. Tools | Folder options | View.

Note: If any DBX file is over 300 MB, return to OE and move some messages from the folder related to a new user created folder and compact down the size of the file.

  • Importing a library file (adding) corrupts the content.

When importing (adding) a file of Aperture library to my main library, a lot of mistakes is introduced, including a link to the (masters) badly referenced original. If others have reported this? How do you work around?

I saw a similar problem after testing cleaning applications such as CleanMyMac.Did you try similar request?

But if an Aperture library has a slight alteration, it can worsen after importation from another library.

You could fix the two libraries before trying to merge them by importing.  See the manual page on how to repair the library: action = 10% 26tasks http://documentation.apple.com/en/aperture/usermanual/index.html#chapter=27%26se = true

In any case, I would like to make a backup copy of these two libraries before trying to merge libraries.

If the referenced original links are apparently wrong, you might want to rebuild the thumbnails:

Select the images with the bad link and use the command ' Photos > generate thumbnails "to recreate the thumbnails.

There is NO "import" under the "file" menu function

    How to import bookmarks?

I use Windows XP and Firefox 7.0 beta.

Import bookmarks in bookmarks (library) Manager

    • Bookmarks > show all bookmarks
  • cannot choose "Import" in the file menu - not highlighted

try to import bookmarks from IE - on the file menu of Firefox choose "Import" is not highlighted and can not be selected - why? Maybe it's a mistake to base on my part from somewhere.

Try their import via the bookmarks Organizer.

    1. From the menus, choose "Bookmarks", then on "organize bookmarks...". "to open the bookmarks Organizer (also known as the name of the library)
    2. In the library, select "Import and backup" then "Import HTML.

This gives you the ability to import from Internet Explorer?

If it isn't, export favorites in Internet Explorer to a HTML file, and then import the HTML file in Firefox. This process is described in the article importing Internet Explorer Favorites from another computer .

  • import of backup files .dat in 6.2.2 point Office Windows 8.1

I just upgraded my PC Windows 8 (BIG mistake) and he decided to delete all my PALM data files.  I thought THAT I had everything backed up, but the only files I backed up was called a "address.dat" and the new Palm (6.2.2) software is not allowing me to import that.   The 'aba' only backup file I have is from 2005 and that won't do me any good.

Anyone know how I can import the .dat file in my address book?

    Thank you!

    Mark

Hello and welcome to the HP support community!

Only way I know to import data is to install Palm Desktop 4.x on the computer you have now (delete 6.2.2 first - you can't have both installed at the same time!), to create the same account of HotSync name as before and then replace the file address.dat for Palm Desktop user with your saved version.

See if the data returns.  If so, you can export correctly in order to have an update of the aba file version.

NOTE: Palm Desktop 4.x will work on Win8 with the Aceeca drivers installed.  Quick installation is not working properly.  Version 6.2.2 adds "install the tool" which works similar to quick setup, but works fine on 64 bit systems.
