Import contacts from my husband as a distinct group?

I would like to import contacts iPhone of my husband in my contacts but keep them in another "group. I have a current Mac mini to run El Capitan 10.11.6 and would synchronize them to my iPad and iPhone 6 running 9.3.3. It has basically the same system, backup in iCloud. I tried to export my contacts on my desk and the choices are Vcard or "Archive". It seems that it will work as Vcards. Am I looking at this correctly or suggestions on how to do differently or better?

Thank you!

Hi PatKoenig,

Please use the Apple Support communities to post your question. If you want to import contacts to your Mac, but make a separate group, the way you proceed to do is fine. I however create the new group on the device first, and then import the contacts on the new group you created. You can also use the links below to help you in your task.

Contacts (El Capitan): Import contacts

Contacts (El Capitan): Create a group of Contacts

You have to continue to import exactly how you were. This will have your contacts imported in no time.

Have a great day.

It seems that you can only import Contacts from a SIM or Facebook card. I guess that means that you can't import or synchronize the Contacts of Gmail. Is this correct?

Currently, it is not possible on the ZTE Open. We are working to make this possible. In the meantime, you can check the updates.

Please check the updates by following these instructions:

Note: Updates downloads only on Wi - fi to avoid data usage fees.

    1. Open the settings application by pressing on the

      icon.

    2. Press the button of device information.
    3. Press the Check button.
    4. A notification is displayed in the bar notice if an update is available.
    5. Swipe down the notification bar to get the utility tray and install updates.

  • Is it possible to import contacts from outlook into Jabber?

    Hello

I would like to know if there is a way to import contacts from Outlook to Jabber?

I know there is a way to import using the xml file, but how can I import contacts from outlook to the xml model?

    Thank you

    Gilad Darshan

It is possible to export your Outlook contacts as XML using a tool called "OutlookAddressBookView" from Nirsoft.

The problem is that the tool does not export the contacts in a Jabber-readable XML format. You would have to edit the XML file to make it readable by Jabber. This process would be laborious but feasible using the find/replace function in any text editor.

Jabber requires the XML files to be in this format: http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/voice_ip_comm/vxc/english/vxme/9-3 _...

How to import contacts from Yahoo BB contacts? I can't believe that it is not possible... Can anyone help?

    Philippe

    Philip, you are welcome.

I would recommend first to import this file in to your Yahoo contacts on Yahoo mobile web page where are your contacts. These contacts would then sync over to your BlackBerry address book. This is the simplest method.

Alternatively, you can use a version prior to the BlackBerry Desktop Software v6.1 or lower, to import a CSV file into your BlackBerry.

  • When you import contacts from the sim data are all put under the wrong labels. Is there a way to avoid / repeat this

The data on my phone is an example: it took my familyname as my name as a phonenr. And my phone number as an email address. So far I've found the manual update as a solution. It would be less painful to set on a desk somehow...

In my case, it did not recognize same contacts on my SIM card.

If you have contacts in vcard format, with export/backup to memory card on an old phone, or under sync your desktop and exported from there, you can use vcardin on the market to import vcards from a memory card.

The phone still has tons of problems/bugs related to contacts; You cannot batch delete, for example. Many of these issues are already fixed in newer versions of Firefox OS, and others are included in the road map.

For now, this solution took my 800 + contacts more or less correctly loaded.

  • Import contacts from Outlook Express to Windows Live Mail

I just bought a new Dell computer and it has Windows 7.  My old computer has Windows XP.  Can I import my list of contacts from Outlook Express to Windows Live Mail and, if so, how can I go about it?

I selected files, folders and search under the heading Windows as I couldn't see Windows Live Mail in the list of topics.

    Thank you.

Open the address book in OE and file | Export | Address book (wab) and save it to the desktop. Copy it to a flash drive. Place it on the desktop or another location on the computer using WLMail.

For WLMail 2009: Open list of Contacts in WLMail, (go |) Contacts in the Menu bar) and the file | Import | Address book (wab) Windows and the point where you saved it.

For WLMail 2011: Switch to the contacts window (click on the book icon to the address at the foot of the folders pane, or press Ctrl-3). Click on the import button, select address book (wab) Windows and point on where it was saved.

Note: If you use a CD or a DVD instead of a flash drive, after placing on the new machine you must remove the read-only attribute in the properties before you import.

  • import contacts from gmail from csv file

I can't get the file import function in address book to work.

I have my gmail and Outlook 2003 account csv files but after spending hours trying to map the fields later, I settled for a very limited subset of the coordinates: each contact display when I select 'Next', but when I click 'OK', it always adds a secondary address book, with 0 contacts.

I waded through a lot of forum posts and tried to export a Vcard to Outlook 2003 file (it does not option); I removed most of the columns of the csv files and moved them around to avoid the horrible way as the 'Move Up' and 'Down' other shift keys, already reset fields - apparently at random; and even if I limit the importation of any name and primary e-mail address of the import program always produces an address book under zero contact.
