Import mail from an iMac Macbook Pro
Hi all
I need to transfer all my mail from my iMac to my Macbook Pro.
I don't have preferences or rules etc. I just need to access reference purposes.
I am aware that I can export a mailbox of the iMac, transfer the file and import it on the Macbook Pro.
I have two questions:
1. her leaving a large number of emails, totaling more than 10 000 about 8 years. This will cause a problem?
Not sure about the size of GB that I currently do not have access to the iMac.
2. I heard there may be permissions with this issues. Is there anything else I should be aware of?
Both computers are to me, but my name of Director is different I think. They are all two SNYC would be via iCloud however. (except Mail :-)
MacBook Pro, OS X Mavericks (10.9.4), 2.4 GHz Intel Core i5
iMac (27-inch late 2009), OS X (10.8.2), Nikon D90, Nikon D600 Mountain Lion
Thanks for your help.
Richard
1. There should not be a problem, but it will take a long time to load.
2. after the export of the mailbox and copying it to the Macbook Pro, do a Get Info (command - I) on the mailbox to change permissions if necessary. Then, click on the gear down and select apply to included items.

iPhone 6 s 4 K video on iMac MacBook Pro 2010/2011
If I take 4K video on my iPhone 6s and import it on my iMac MacBook Pro 2010/2011 will be playing the video and watch as she lets say a new iMac 4 / 5K? iMovie and final cut PRO supports 4K video for editing right?
It will look like at its native resolution. On your Mac, the displayed video will be reduced as a result of your visible area onscreen. That does not mean the video will look terrible, but not so good that it would have on the 4 k or 5 k.

retrieve e-mail messages are erased macbook pro
I deleted and erased hundreds of emails from my old macbook pro, because I am now using my other. What I did, however, also affected my new computer, and I've lost over 1000 emails. Is there something I can do? They went on the server also.
Looks like you have an IMAP email account. This type of account will synchronize e-mail messages between all devices. If you delete a device you remove the server as well as all other devices. You might also have a POP3 account and it was Setup deletes from the server.
You have two possible solutions:
-Restore deleted messages to a backup like Time Machine. Just be careful since then restore again, they can be deleted if an IMAP account.
-Use a twilight recovery application to try to find their

My company has closed and took my computer, my CS4 licenses has been used on this Macbook. I trashed software applications before the machine being removed.

My iMac 27 "(2011) so my wife 13 '' MacBook Pro (2011) were recently stolen after our House was robbed. My wife got a new MacBook Pro and I restored it successfully its data (selected "backup restore Time Machine" during the installation of its new MacBook Pro). However, I also got a new 15 "MacBook Pro in lieu of the iMac 27". I have, once again, selected "Restore from Time Machine backup" (selected the iMac as the backup source) when installing my new MacBook Pro. When it was finally over, I told Time Machine to inherit from the backup. Unfortunately, none of the files in the My Documents folder or the photos in my photo library have been restored. Was it a bad idea to try to use the backup of the iMac as a source for the MacBook Pro (both running El Capitan)?
is it possible that your documents are stored on another drive which was not part of the backup plan? or is the HD in the big enough MBP to inherent the old backup.
If you open the time machine with the original backup disc, you should be able to browse the content
If the files are found, you can restore by right-clicking (or CTRL + left mouse)

How to place licensed for "ADOBE DESIGN STANDARD" of iMac, Macbook Pro?
I'm currently approved for 'ADOBE DESIGN STANDARD' on an iMac. I have a new MacBook Pro and you want to use instead of the iMac. Should I get a new license key? or?
I know that I can download a copy of "eval" on the cell phone, but how to move license keys? I don't know yet I have still the license key (valid) for the iMac... can I ask another?
As long as you stay in the same general platform (PC vs Mac), you don't need to change the license. You are allowed to have two facilities activated with your license, so you should be able to install on your new computer without having to worry about the other oldest at all (unless you never want to release the second activation for yet another machine). As you said, you can download the trial version and use the serial number of your purchase to activate it to use fully.
If you registered your software with Adobe, the serial number should be available through your Adobe account online. If you don't enter it then you at least will understand why it is profitable to do so.
IF you end up needing to solve problems with the activation of the product on the new machine, you will need to communicate directly with the Support from Adobe. Here are some links to help get in touch:

Copy and save photos from Iphoto on Macbook Pro photos
I spent hours trying to work on this simple operation, but nothing helped.
Only start just using Photos, Iphoto, etc. of cloud so jargon is a little confused and I'm a newbie to how it all works, despite searches it seems to be no simple explanation.
I think I'm the handle, but I am aware that if I uploaded my pictures from the camera to my Ipad and it goes into the Photo Album, backed up in the cloud - that if I delete it the iPad I have not these photos anywhere else and the card of the camera has been cleared.
I just want to save all the pictures that are now on my Ipad to travel (not on my camera more), backed up in the cloud — but nowhere else. I want to be able to save copies of the size of all these photos and keep them on my Macbook Pro or backup on an external hard drive.
How can I do this? I don't want them to end up in the Photos on my Macbook - I want just store them as a backup in images or use an external usb key to save. Why is it so difficult? Surely if there was the option of backup on an external hard drive, it would be much easier to use. I am afraid that I do not trust just by using the Cloud, where I accidentally erase my iPad - I need another backup physical to be able to work with.
If your photos are now in iCloud photo library, you can download them to your computer from the web interface for iCloud.
Open a browser window on your computer and open the page web www.icloud.com.
Connect with your AppleID to iCloud.
Launch the Photos.app at this web page.
Click on "Select", and then select all the photos. Then click on the download button.
To select a range of photos at a time click on the first picture, hold down the SHIFT key, click the last photo of the range.

I recently installed a new HD in my mid-2010, MacBook Pro that the original was defective, I then restored from a time Machine up which was recorded on an external drive. My MacBook is now going great but I noticed the problem with how my saved items are displayed, I have about 110 GB of Photos, documents, etc. and all are showing as 'Other' when they should be distributed in the divisions 'Apps', 'Movies', etc.. I'm not sure how to solve the problem, I tried a Migration Wizard, but it says 'User needs Attention' so don't know where to go from here really. Any ideas?
If you use the 'about this Mac' view, be aware that there is a bug in the program that it generates and should not be relied upon. Sometimes, but not always, he will correct a reindexing of Spotlight:

If you want specific information about the data on your HARD drive, download OmniDiskSweeper and Grand Perspective (both free) Internet and open them. They will show all your files and respective sizes.

How can I recover my files from my broken Macbook Pro (13 in. end 2011)?
Hi all
I had some problems charger abroad and had to use a charger of mash-up the top of a friend. The charger has ended up working but finally died and also killed my macbook with it (do not start or accept the charge of a new charger). The battery indicator still works. I had checked it free of charge from abroad and the iStore has stated that it is from a broken logicboard. I've already replaced the laptop but I would like to recover the hard disk or files, because they have all my pictures and videos of my year abroad with my girlfriend. I'm not really worried to recover the laptop, just files or hard drive.
Thanks again
Remove the hard disk and place it in an external enclosure - then that connect to the current laptop and read the files that it

How to transfer music from iPhone to macbook pro 6
How to transfer my music from my iPhone to my macbook pro 6
Where is the music? If it's on the iTunes store and then with the same AppleID on Mac, you can download it again. There is no easy way to transfer music from iPhone to Mac, and you're not supposed to do anyway.
If the music on the iPhone has been transferred from another computer, you cannot connect your iPhone to another music library without erasing music on the phone. Give us more details.

Best way to transfer data from a defective MacBook Pro?
I just bought a new retina 15 "2.5 GHz Macbook Pro about 3 weeks ago and it has a faulty graphics card. I got Best Buy and they are willing to trade, but want $100 to transfer data. I'm not a techie BB have access to my data and I certainly do not think that I should pay $100 for it in any case. So I need to temporarily transfer the data on a disk external usb and contemplates what method to use, Carbon Copy Cloner or activation of Time Machine back up my hard drive. I don't have really a disk bootable since the new rMBP will have a system of fees so I don't know if CCC is the best choice, and I wonder if it is easier to migrate my data from a TM backup. Any ideas or suggestions would be welcome.
I love the bootable clones. They have perhaps not always necessary, but there are moments that the system does not boot and you want to try booting from the outside to either eliminate the internal drive as the question, or to repair internally by a fully-Boot installation.
I don't use TM, nor do I need 'migrate' so I won't comment on those.
I hope that you will buy AppleCare during this first year. As you have seen, sometimes bad parties spend and you want 3 years of hardware coverage for these periods.

27 "5 common K vs iMac Macbook Pro - worth the iMac and investment?
Hello
I'm currently the proud owner of an end 2013 15 "Macbook Pro retina, 2.6 GHz. But I would like a more powerful machine to use the desktop.
Current Macbook Pro vs new iMac:
16 GB of RAM = 16 GB of RAM
Disk 512 GB PCIe Flash = 512 GB PCIe Flash drive
2, 6 GHz CPU > 4 GHz CPU
NVIDIA GT 750M > AMD Radeon R9 M395X
But still, it's an investment of $3,200. I get a much faster machine, or it will be just a quick configuration of 30%? Thanks for any comments.
Thank you
Björn
If you need a powerful desktop computer then it's either the iMac of the Mac Pro. There are many benchmarks and comparisons to find, so do some research - naked exploits just ran a comparison.
