  • Federation of Essbase with OBIEE 11g

    Hello

I have a hierarchy of accounts unbalanced jagged in the Essbase cube I imported into OBIEE repository in addition to hierarchies of script, Version, entity, period and year. Now I have a secondary table in the Oracle database with account, Version, scenario, with Value entity (Measure) to the level below each hierarchy. I read that for the Federation, the hierarchies must be balanced. In the relational table Account dimension, I have maintained a consistent no. levels with values zero everywhere where the leaves are absent.  Now that the accounts of the Essbase cube hierarchy is unbalanced, how should I design to enable Federation between the cube Essbase and relational table? OBIEE version is 11.1.1.6 and Essbase is 11.1.2.2. Your help is very appreciated.

    Thank you and best regards,

    Karamba.

The problem was solved by using tables of choice. Also, the relational database table has been filled with the names of the members alias. Then in OBIEE MDB layer, using sparse Lookup, Essbase alias members were used to find the value against the relational database table which served for the lookup table in the MDB layer.

    Thank you and best regards,

    Karamba.

  • Requirement of OBIEE 11G

    Hello

I have a requirement, and I don't know where to start. We have two different Ad-hoc tools OBIEE and BO, and they both sit on two different servers, of course.

Well, the problem is that within the BO, there is one area that you can build reports against. This particular field does not exist in OBIEE. I even ran I watched by Developer SQL tables which built the topic area in BO are not yet on the OBIEE server, so I can't import the data to the RPD.

I've never worn the hat of s/n, and I'm trying not to. I see tables on the BO server, so what is the best way to get back the tables on the OBIEE server and import them into my RPD?

    Published by: Scott 24 Sep, 2012 08:01

Based on the entry on the Server tables and import of obiee Server creat system Dsn database or tns.
I think this would be the beginning point.

  • Tables of Union of multiplying srouces given in OBIEE

    Hi Pros,

I Recenetly do a POC on union the same table structure to multiply the data sources through OBIEE, uptill now I can't do it yet, I tried below ways:

Prerequisite: I've set up two tables under a physical folder with the connection of two pool

    1. When do the union at the physical level, cannot apply because either can not create a union two tables using SQL or view.
    2. When do the union at the logical level, cannot also implement

I know that this kind of data integration should be done before that we import in OBIEE model, but there is something political that we cannot integrate, so I was wondering if OBIEE has this functionlity who can trade union data from different data source. Please notify.

    Thank you

I think I confused... lets you go with simple approach test Fragmentation future (http://www.rittmanmead.com/2007/06/obiee-data-modeling-tips-2-fragmentation/)

In physics create a column (Source) more on both sources. Configure all the joins as we usually do. MDB to configure your fragmentation based on the source column.

Your physical look like columns look like: ID, NAME, ADDRESS and SOURCE.

    Source1 sample data
    ID, NAME, ADDRESS, SOURCE
    1, s, abc, Source1

    Source2 sample data
    ID, NAME, ADDRESS, SOURCE
    11, s, abc1, Source2

  • How to eliminate zeros after the decimal point

    Hello

I have the columns in the table of Planner has BEGIN_DAY BEGIN_MONTH BEGIN_YEAR and the values are coming as 12.00, 11.00, 2009.00.

In the database there are no zeros after the decimal point, but when the tables are imported into OBIEE see zeros in columns above. Is it possible to remove the zeros after the decimal place to the RPD.

    Rgds,
    Amit

Set the data type in the physical layer int.

  • two relationships between two tables

    Hi all

I created a cube in my db (using OWB) of two relationships to my time dimension. A relationship shows the start time of a process, that the other represents the date of termination or end.

    example of the cube:

    Fact1
    Fact2
    Dim_Time1
    Dim_Time2

where Dim_time1 and Dim_Time2 link to the same dimension.

Unfortunately I have trouble this manually import in obiee administrator. I imported the fact table and the dimension of the physical layer table. Can I move to the business layer and create the two joins between two tables. But the overall consistency check up a mistake, I shouldn't have two relationships between two tables and remove a foreign key.

    What I am doing wrong?

    Kind regards

    Knut

    Knut,

In your example, you should have a time dimension in the phyiscal layer and alias of this 2 x, for Dim_time1 and for Dim_time2, in this way aliases are separate tables as the BI server point of view and you define releations separate on the same table, you can define specific to each alias dim relevant time joins.

In this way, you will have two time decreases intensity in MDB layer also, has 'Dim-Start Time' and a ' Sun - term time "or similar.

    Hope this helps,

  • using dbms_application_info.set_client_info ('ORG_ID') in BI Publisher rep

    Hello

I have a problem here. I would appreciate it if you could please provide me with some suggestions on this.

I develop a report in the BI publisher using database as a data source. In my application, I use so few views in order to get the data from these points of view, I need to initialize these views. In the case of rdf, this task could be carried out using before release of the report but now I develop the report with BI Publisher without using RDF. I write the query in BI Publisher itself and will create the data for the same model and download it in the editor of BI. My task is to use "Begin dbms_application_info.set_client_info ('ORG_ID') end;" in BI Publisher request but I do not know OW I can achieve this goal. I would be grateful if someone could help me with that.

Please note that I have no intention to run the report from Oracle applications through simultaneous program, but this report will be imported in OBIEE dashborad purposes of display.

    Thank you

    Kind regards
    AS

You have set the parameter in your specification package too?

  • Can I load data in imported Essbase cube in OBIEE?

    Hi all

I use OBIEEv11.1.1.7.I imported Essbase cube in RPD and I load sheet Essbase Excel data using smartview.

My question is after you import the cube in OBIEE do I still need load the new data into Essbase cube or is it possible to load data directly to the OBIEE to excel for any Essbase cube?

    Thank you

    GP

    Hi GP.

Essbase substitution variables can be imported and can indeed be referenced in OBIEE. So I think that you have a solution here :-).

    Thank you

  • Error when import to Oracle table (OBIEE Server Client 32-bit & 64-bit)

    Hi all

Problem: ODBC/OCI connectivity problem between OBIEE 11.1.1.6.2 BP1 server (64-bit) and OBIEE 11.1.1.6.2 machine local BP1 client (32-bit).

We have an 11.1.1.6.2 BP1(64-bit) OBIEE Setup on a 'Windows Server 2008 R2 Enterprise' 64-bit machine.

OBIEE dev team members have 32-bit local machines.
OBIEE "Admin member of the team" (who will work on RPD) to OBIEE 11 g customer (BP1) installed on their * 32-bit local machine * (which is a common software for 32/64-bit).

Now, two ODBC connections have been created on this local 32-bit Client computer, client 11g OBIEE installed on it.
A "server BI driver" for the OBIEE server machine(64-bit) to open the RPD and other connection with "Oracle database driver" to connect to the Oracle 64-bit desktop databaseto import tables.

With this configuration made, I am able to open the RPD in online mode and mode sampleapp existing related objects present in it.
But when I try to import metadata to the client admin OBIEE tool using the BEAK or ODBC, it gives an error "connection failed!"

I have the tns required in my tnsnames.ora file entry and I am able to connect to this database on the local client computer, using sqlplus.

Kindly let me know if there are restrictions in the use of such a combination of settings for 32-bit machines and 64 bits for OBIEE 11.1.1.6.2 BP1 setup.
If this isn't the case, so what are the steps to do the btw client 64 bit and 32 bit OBIEE OBIEE server configuration to create the table of import job.

You can try using the OIC instead of ODBC connection type?
Implementation of the native ODBC drivers is not always do the job.

Also, make sure you have defined the TNS_ADMIN environment variable.

  • OBIEE 10.3.1.4.1 new import dw

    Hello everyone
    I am Joseph:

I have installed 10.3.4.1 obiee and I imported the data into it for a demo

Now I want to truncate all data and import new data from another customer.

It's been a while I did and let me know if this is possible?

as if I was a new facility with fresh data

just have the data and the repository of the new company?

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi Joseph

You use the Oracle BI Applications? (As you mention DAC and Informatica I suspect you have).

If so you changed tasks any mappings Informatica, DAC or similar (IE extended or customized it)?

If not and you use vanilla BI Apps then it easy enough to point the ETL to the new source of customers (EBS or similar) and perform a new comprehensive ETL. (I guess that both clients are running the same source and version for example Oracle E-Business Suite 11.5.10.2 otherwise its more complex!)

Things you need to change are:

    Connections / relational Informatica Workflow.
    DAC physical data sources.

In OBIEE, you change the pools of connections OLTP database connection details.

Don't forget that you need to configure your networking files (tnsnames.ora for Oracle) or ODBC connections, you will need.

To run a full load, you just need to reset data sources. (Tools-> management ETL) which will require a full charge.

I would advise to take a full backup of everything before you start on any one of these actions.

    Hope this helps

(My repository creation utility is run successfully on this database when is install OBIEE 111 g)

Also, I created an ODBC connection to oracle database 11g R2 import, the connection is created successfully, to return the same error message with all sys, s/n users.
with other data source when I tried as of SQL SERVER 2005 there is no error and can import successfully.

  • OBIEE 11 g administration tool, import tables.

    Hello!!!

I just installed the Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition Plus customer for 11.1.1.5, but I don't know if I need to install a client of database oracle to be able to import tables in the repository from a remote database

I want to use a calling OIC interface, I found this guide but, I think that it is when I install all the obiee and not only the administration Client.

    Hi andres,

I want to use a calling OIC interface, I found this guide but, I think that it is when I install all the obiee and not only the administration Client.

To use the interface OIC, you must have the oracle DB client must be installed so that you can connect to using references DB and connect to the remote Database and then import the tables... it's the rule.

    hope helps you.

    See you soon,.
