Importing files into Windows Mail .dbx

I'm trying to convert the Outlook Express .dbx files Windows Mail .eml files.  I followed the instructions, and I get an error message saying that there are no files in the folder or the files are in use by another application, neither of which is true.  I checked to make sure that they are not files "read only".

Bluejacket01,

If they don't work, at what stage you're having trouble, and you receive this error message (if any)?

First of all, please note that Windows Mail is not provided and does not normally work under Windows 7. Perhaps mean you Windows Live Mail, which is a differnet program and also does not come with Windows7, well that many manufacturers together with the computers they sell.

  • Why can I play a WMV video that I created, but not import it into Windows Movie Maker?

Why do I get the error message "the file * *.wmv cannot be imported because the codec required to play the file is not installed on your computer." If you have already tried to download and install the codec, close and restart Windows Movie Maker, and then try to re-import the file. "even if I CAN play the video in Windows Media Player?

I have a Windows Media Video file I recorded using another program. I can open the video and watch it in Windows Media Player, but when I try to import into Windows Movie Maker (as I did with the other videos I recorded), I get a message saying that it cannot be imported "because the necessary codec to play the file is not installed on your computer. If you have already tried to download and install the codec, close and restart Windows Movie Maker, and then try to re-import the file. "I tried to close Windows Movie Maker and reopening, she even tried to restart my computer, but it still does not work.

    Hello

    ·         What program did you use for recording to WMV file?

    ·         Are you having similar problem when you try to import the WMV file, which is not recorded by this program?

    Method 1:

Although you can play a file in Microsoft Windows Media Player, you may not be able to import the file into Windows Movie Maker even though this article lists this kind of file. You will not be able to import the file if the codec that was used to encode the audio or video is not a codec that is supplied with Windows. In this case, you can re - encode the video or audio by using Windows Media Encoder, and then import the video or audio.

    Hi napoleonfoo,

Did you follow the steps provided by John Inzer?

To better understand the issue, we need the following information:

    (a) what is the exact error that you receive when you import video into windows movie maker?

    (b) what is the file format of the video you are trying to import?

    (c) means the video sharing with each drive that you use or simply with a particular player?

To clarify, you try to install a program (or download the program)?  What program are you trying to install? You get a specific error message?

See the link below for the file format supported.

  • How do I import saved in Windows Mail Outlook pst file?

I saved my Outlook e-mail in a PST on a hard drive external.  Now I want to restore that saved email on another computer that uses windows mail.  I tried to use the "import" feature, but it does not give me a PST in option.

When I import a video file into Windows Movie Maker, it plays the video and no Audio how to import the video file so that it contains the audio when the time to line up? Help?

Watch the video file. The last 3 letters represent the file format.

Windows Movie maker only supports the following video file formats:

Video files: .asf, .avi, .dvr-ms, .m1v, .mp2, .mp2v, .mpe, .mpeg, .mpg, .mpv2, .wm, and .wmv

If yours is not on the above list, Movie Maker will have probel play.

In this case, you will have to google for a free video converter and change the format of your video file to WMV. WMV format is the most reliable format for Windows. For the benefits of others looking for answers, please mark as answer suggestion if it solves your problem.

  • How can I import groups of Windows Mail contacts in Windows Live Mail?

I work in a small office where we have computers running Windows Vista and using Windows Mail (version 6.0.6000.16388).  We have hundreds of contacts and a few contact groups on these computers.

A few months ago, we got two new computers running Windows XP and Windows Live mail (version 2009, version 14.0.8089.0726).  Other computers at the office always have Vista and the other version of Windows Mail.

I was able to export our hundreds of contacts and import them into Windows Live Mail for new computers have all the contacts... but I was unable to find a way to import groups.

These groups are all very large and comprise mostly/entirely out of contacts that do not have individual contact entries.

I've been Googling for a solution to this problem.  The page nearest you, that I could find was this:

    http://www.SevenForums.com/tutorials/3818-Windows-Live-Mail-import-Vista-contacts-contact-groups.html

I was very discouraged when I saw the big red warning to the top of the page:

    ---------------
In the Groups of Contact with Vista, only contacts who are also included as normal Contacts will be imported into Windows Live Mail. Contacts that have been created for the Contact Group only will not be imported into Windows Live Mail. You will need to write these down and add them manually in Windows Live Mail.
    ---------------

This pretty much described my situation exactly, but manually going through all groups, write all contacts, and then import them manually into two separate machines should always and is simply not an option.

Are there really no other way I can get these groups into Windows Live Mail?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you very much!

I have not actually tried this, but I think this method will work.

    1. get a free Live ID (or @hotmail.com or @live.com).

    2. install Windows Live Mail on Vista computer. During the installation, it will offer to signature with a Live ID. Do.

    3. the first performance of Windows Live Mail, it will be important to all contacts from Windows Mail. Give him enough time to synchronize all contacts with the web version of this Live ID.

    4. open Windows Live Mail on the new computer and then connect with the same Live ID. The automatic synchronization process will transfer in all contacts of the web version of this Live ID.

Whenever I have import an mp3 file into Windows Movie Maker, I find myself with an astronomically long mp3. When I open the properties of the mp3 out of the program (on the desktop or in iTunes), I get that mp3 is normal size (approximately 3-5 minutes long) but when I open porperties in WMM, it turns out be more close to 3000 hours.

    • Outlook 2003
    • Outlook 2007

It is recommended to always update your version of Outlook directly after installation to take care of any question of incompatibility which have been corrected.

I can't paste clip art into windows mail. (do not give me the option.)   I copied the clipart in Word document.  I use IE8, IE9, but unnstalled have in the hope of resolving the problem.   Thank you, Pam

You cannot copy and paste images (especially the cliparts) of the word.  You need to refer to a disk image.  So use Insert | Picture to insert the image.  The image must also be a format that IE can display, as it is used to show messages in WinMail.

IE9 is not a problem for that. See here for IE9 questions: www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#15

  • import files into a table

    Hello

I need to import files into a table from a database. After importing I must record in another table, the name of the file, the current date and the State of import (0 - import ok, 1 error import etc.). All files has the same structure but different file names.

Is there any possibility of cycle in the folder, import a file in the table and after that save filename to another table with the State of importation?

    Thanks in advance

    Gabi

    Hi Gabi,.

Assuming that you have a set of files (.txt, .csv,...) in a folder with the same structure, but different file names.

    Solution:

Get all the names of files and insert these names in a table temporary temp_filenames (filename, status).
with the status of 'R' (walking).

Delete No .txt temp_filenames .csv file names (for examle if no void / files / other file names are here).

    Add a v_filename variable (select * from temp_filenames where status 'R' limit 1)

Create datastore source with the name of varaiable (#v_filename).
(remove file extensions, the spaces between the names of files... all by creating tables in DB,)
for this, you can use a variable more / apply your logic)

the flow of processes in a loop (make sure whetehr the count is greater than 0 for the variable)
If its gerater trhan 0 then processes the file with #v_filename.
Once the upadate process successful status as a ' other (completed) 'E' (error)

This will make a loop for all files in your folder

Once the process is complete, you can insert the status of paper in your journal table looking into temp_filenames.
Then delete all temporary tables you created

Please let me know if you need further help with this.
