Impossible for users of vpn SSL ping

I have install several ASA with Anyconnect SSL VPN function, but I have never been able to ping to an IP address that has been assigned to the remote user. I'd be able to ping the remote user? Do I need to configure anything in any political group or the user to activate this?

Triton

Triton,

Absolutely, you will be able to ping the RA client when it connects, if the customer is able to ping your internal resources, but the connection does not work the other way, then most likely the RA client firewall blocking the packets. Most of the software including Windows Firewall Firewall delete unsolicited incoming traffic that does not match a traffic sent in response to a request of the computer (solicited traffic) or unsolicited traffic that has been specified as allowed (except traffic).

Kind regards.

  • Downloadable ACLs for users of VPN

    Hello

I replaced the old pix with ASA (7.2). There were groups configured for the remote VPN users authenticated through the ACS and ACS download a specific ACL for each group to the PIX. After the replacement, users cannot establish the VPN connection. After troubleshooting, I discovered that the downloadable ACLs were not working very well. When I disabled this option the established tunnel. When I get back to the old pix with the same configuration, it works very well with downloadable ACL option. I opened a TAC case and he said the v3.0 ACS (I) are not compatible with the ASA. He did not really convince me and he asked to try to use the option to pair AV. I tried option pair AV with ASA and it did not work also. can you please advice.

    Hello

    Check out this point,

    http://Tools.Cisco.com/support/BugToolKit/search/getBugDetails.do?method=fetchBugDetails&bugId=CSCef21184

In addition, 3.0 is very old, and I guess that in this version, we have "Downloadable PIX ACL" and not "downloadable IP ACL", on ASA download able ACL will work but with "Downloadable IP ACL" but not with "Downloadable PIX ACL".

    Kind regards

  • Group-lock for users of vpn with acs

    Hello

Is it possible to controll what VPN profile, a user is allowed to use by Cisco ACS or the router?

2811 router IOS 12.4 worm, ACS 4.1 using

I just want to be sure that the VPN allows the user only the Client Profile assigned to them and no other profile groups.

    Example:

User123abc gets their hands on a profile of co-wokers.

    HR_User_Profile.pcf

    SALES_User_Profile.pcf

User123abc belongs to the Department of human resources and should be able to authenticate with HR_User_Profile. If User123abc is trying to authenticate by using the access SALES_User_Profile should be rejected.

Any documentation explaining how to set up?

The ASA will be your option. This should be controlled by the values of tunnel-group and class-group policy, group-lock, ACS and ASA

  • blocking of websites for users of vpn ipsec offline

    Hello

We use asa 5520's as our firewalls and our vendors sign in via ipsec vpn client v5. with our previous checkpoint firewall and clients, we could add a default policy, which would be active while the client was not connected which would limit that sellers sites could visit not connected to the firewall.

with our new configuration of cisco, we are able to restrict what Web sites they visit while they are connected, but once they log off of the firewall they have unlimited access to the Internet. Is there a way to be limited to a list of pre-defined business related sites?

    Thank you

    Sam

    Sorry for the late reply.

I don't think that you can inject a rule of firewall policy customized to the VPN client when they are not connected.

You can use the stateful always on the firewall, but you can't customize it AFAIK.

Apply a proxy on laptops you describe could be a better solution.

    Federico.

With the ASA you will be somewhat limited in what you can do for remote-access-VPN.

There are two ways to set that up:

    (1) using the SSL - VPN with the AnyConnect Client

To do this, you must license Premium AnyConnect quite expensive for the amount of competitor users you plan to accept or AnyConnect Essentials cheap license which will give you 250 AnyConnect users which is the platform limit.

But for the essential AnyConnect license, you need upgrade your ASA RAM because you need an ASA - latest operating system for it.

But going this path will be the best option.

    (2) with the IPSec Client inherited (EasyVPN). The customer is EOL/EOS announced and not all development will get more. But for now, it could be a way to go until you upgrade your ASA.

Here is an example of how to configure your ASA for the old CLient IPSec:

  • How to use ACS 5.2 to create a static ip address user for remote access VPN

    Hi all

I have the problem. Please help me.

Initially, I use ACS 4.2 to create the static ip address for VPN remote access user, it's easy, configuration simply to the user defined > address assignment IP Client > assign the static IP address, but when I use ACS 5.2 I don't ' t know how to do.

I'm trying to add the IPv4 address attribute to the user to read "how to use 5.2 ACS", it says this:

1Ajouter step to attribute a static IP address to the user attribute dictionary internal:

Step 2select System Administration > Configuration > dictionaries > identity > internal users.

    Step 3click create.

Static IP attribute by step 4Ajouter.

5selectionnez users and identity of the stage stores > internal identity stores > users.

    6Click step create.

Step 7Edit static IP attribute of the user.

I just did, but this isn't a job. When I use EasyVPN client to connect to ASA 5520, user could the success of authentication but will not get the static IP I set up on internal users, so the tunnel put in place failed. I'm trying to configure a pool of IP on ASA for ACS users get the IP and customer EasyVPN allows you to connect with ASA, everything is OK, the user authenticates successed.but when I kill IP pool coufigurations and use the "add a static IP address to the user 'configurations, EzVPN are omitted.

so, what should I do, if anyboby knows how to use ACS 5.2 to create a user for ip address static for remote access VPN, to say please.

Wait for you answer, no question right or not, please answer, thank you.

There are a few extra steps to ensure that the static address defined for the user is returned in the Access-Accept. See the instuctions in the two slides attached

    Hello

Seems to me that you can clean the current NAT configuration a bit and make it a little clearer.

    I suggest the following changes

    network of the VPN-POOL object

    10.10.10.0 subnet 255.255.255.0

the object of the LAN network

    subnet 192.168.1.0 255.255.255.0

    PAT-SOURCE network object-group

    object-network 192.168.1.0 255.255.255.0

    object-network 10.10.10.0 255.255.255.0

NAT static destination LAN LAN (indoor, outdoor) static source VPN-VPN-POOL

destination VPN VPN-POOL POOL static NAT (outside, outside) 1 static source VPN-VPN-POOL

NAT interface (it is, outside) the after-service automatic PAT-SOURCE dynamic source

    The above should allow

    • Dynamic PAT for LAN and VPN users
    • NAT0 for traffic between the VPN and LAN
    • NAT0 for traffic between the VPN users

You can then delete the previous NAT configurations. Naturally, please save the configuration before you make the change, if you want to revert to the original configuration.

no static source nat (inside, everything) all electricity static destination RAVPN RAVPN

No source (indoor, outdoor) nat static static NETWORK_OBJ_10.10.10.0_28 destination NETWORK_OBJ_192.168.1.0_24 NETWORK_OBJ_192.168.1.0_24 NETWORK_OBJ_10.10.10.0_28

No source (indoor, outdoor) nat static everything all NETWORK_OBJ_10.10.10.0_28 of NETWORK_OBJ_10.10.10.0_28 static destination

    No network obj_any object

    No network object RAVPN

In case you do not want to change the settings a lot you might be right by adding this

    network of the VPN-POOL object

    10.10.10.0 subnet 255.255.255.0

destination VPN VPN-POOL POOL static NAT (outside, outside) 1 static source VPN-VPN-POOL

But the other above configurations changes would make NAT configurations currently simpler and clearer to see every goal of "nat" configurations.

  • Web VPN/SSL - general Split Tunnel capable?

When I look through some examples of configuration for IOS Web VPN - it seems you attract to the filling of a web page of web sites that users can go to. I would be rather thin client act as client light 4.x CVPN - divided for example tunnel with access to a resource internal resource. Is this possible with Cisco VPN Web? Also - with is WebVPN any ability of the NAC?

I'm not sure IOS SSL vpn, but on the asa webvpn, there is a complete client ssl option. With this, you can either create a tunnel, or all split tunnel and the only defined networks. I hope that answers your question.

  • Vs ASA VPN SSL IPSEC

    Hello all -

I'm working on an ASA 5510, running version 8.4. I'm looking for something that I imagine would be simple, but having a few problems.

I am configuring the connection profile for the client and clientless VPN on the SAA. I would like the profiles of customer (who will serve with anyconnect by our internal staff) to have the possibility to select the profile to login on the login page. I have create a subnet by using policies and business unit to restrict access to various servers. This option button is displayed on the page of remote vpn in the ASDM, I select it and problem solved, they see a drop-down menu when using the anyconnect client, select one and the appropriate IP pool is assigned.

Now, when I am configuring profiles without client (to be used by our external business clients), I don't want that they have the ability to choose a profile. At least not the ability to see all of the internal profiles, I created for our internal employees. It is displayed by selecting this option in the "client access", it also allows her to "client access". What Miss me in how I can prevent our external collaborators via SSL, see the profiles that I created for our internal employees via the drop-down list? As I hinted above, I use the ASDM.

    Any help would be appreciated-

    Brian

    Hello

Unfortunately this is not possible because when you enable the option for users to select the connection profile, it will be available for all connections. If this is not enabled the default policy will be selected so it is a must to have chosen option.
What you can do is to create a group URL and maps it to a specific connection profile, so when users type in the full URL for example https://my domain.com / external it will take the user directly on the specific connection profile.

The size to the bottom of this configuration is that if someone types in the URL without the group URL it is taken to the default profile and can see the drop-down list with all connection profiles.

  • VPN SSL from the inside on the external interface

    Hi all

First of all I know that I can activate the SSL interface inside, but that's not what I need or want.

    Scenario:

Several interfaces and VLAN on the SAA (running 8.0.5).

SSL VPN configured and enabled on the external interface.

Need to know if it is possible to access the SSL VPN from other interfaces directly to the IP address external interface, something like her hairpin.

Possible a solution (if it exists) with or without NAT (I have public IPs on some interfaces).

This will be useful for users who can connect any interface (inside, outside, or other) and with only a DNS record, I'll be able to manage everything.

    Concerning

PS: Is DNS doctoring an option? The tests that I have done this does not work.

    Hello

Unfortunately, it is not possible. You cannot communicate with an ASA interface which is not directly connected through the firewall.

  • Module AIM-VPN/SSL-2

Does anyone know if the GRE tunnels can be used with the AIM-VPN/SSL-2 module for the Cisco 2800 series routers?

Yes, we use it with GRE/IPSec.

    Hope that helps.

  • WebVPN and remote vpn, ssl vpn anyconnect

    Hi all

Differences between webvpn and remote vpn, ssl vpn anyconnect
    All require a separate license?

    Thank you

    Hello

The difference between the webvpn and SSL VPN Client is the WebVPN to use SSL/TLS and port

send through a java application to support the application, it also only supports TCP for unicast traffic, no ip address

address is assigned to the customer, and the navigation on the web in the tunnel is made with a SSL

Web-mangle that allows us stuff things in theSSL session.

SSL VPN (Anyconnect) Client is a client of complete tunneling using SSL/TCP, which installs an application on the computer and

envelopes vpn traffic in the ssl session and thus also an assigned ip address has the

tunnel's two-way, not one-way.   It allows for the support of the application on the

tunnel without having to configure a port forward for each application.

AnyConnect is a client of new generation, which has replaced the old vpn client and can be used as long as the IPSEC vpn ssl.

For anyconnect licenses please see the link below:

  • 3005 & customer VPN SSL gone?

I upgraded from 2 3005 to vpn3000 - 4.1.7.Q - k9... after that my SSL VPN client options are gone, used to be: Configuration | Tunneling and security | WebVPN | VPN SSL Client...

This get removed from the latest releases and now I only have the mode of transmission by SSL VPN proxy on of the 3005? Can't seem to find it in the release notes...

    Razor head

The problem you are having is due to the upgrade to 4.1. *, which is not the software package you need. You were previously using 4.7. *, which is the right one for SD/SVC.
