Impossible to access Internet or use EWS 8610

I have had this printer for 3 months and everything has been fine.

Now the sign says 'Necessary connection', and the printer will not connect to Internet. I can't use the built-in Web server and HP connected in a line indicates that the printer is not connected.

Toolbox displays ink levels, but nothing is listed under network information.

I can print from my computer fine through a USB cable.

I have reinstalled drivers, restarted the computer, restart the printer. I used print and Scan of the doctor.

Help!

Hello @mikedog,

I understand that you are not able to use your HP Officejet Pro 8610 e-all-in-one printer via the network connection. I would like to work with you today with the resolution of this problem. Can I please you follow the steps below.

Step 1: Powercycle network:

There are chances that an update has been run on your network that has now blocked the printer. To solve the potential problems of router, can I have you follow the steps below to powercycle your network connection.

  1. Start by unplugging the power cable to your router
  2. Once your router is unplugged, turn your printer off
  3. Then, shut down your computer
  4. After 30 seconds to 1 minute, reconnect your router back in
  5. Then, turn on your printer
  6. Turn on the computer

After a few moments the internet connection will be back. Please check on your computer and make sure you are able to navigate to Web sites before you continue.

Once your network is running again, proceed to the next step.

Step 2: Check of connectivity:

  1. On the front panel of your first printer to select Setup
  2. Under the configuration menu, select Network Configuration
  3. If your Ethernetconnection, Ethernet
  4. If your Wirelessconnection, touch wireless
  5. Select discovers (or wireless Ethernet) settings
  6. Make a note of the IP address
  7. On your computer, try to access the browser of EWS again by entering the IP address (with no www.) in the address bar
  • If a Web site for your printer now open, please test print again to verify that the problem has been resolved.
  • If a site Web for your printer cannot always open, proceed to the next step.

Step 3: Reset the network defaults:

  1. If you use a network Ethernet cable connection, please unplug the Ethernet cable now
  2. On the front panel of your Officejet select Setup
  3. Select Network Configuration
  4. Select restore default network settings
  5. Choose Yes

Once the default network have been restored, If you are using an Ethernet connection, plug the ethernet cable back in.. If using wireless, continue to the next step.

Step 4: Reconfigure wireless:

  1. Press Setup on the front panel of your printer
  2. Select Network Configuration
  3. Select the wireless settings
  4. Choose Wireless and make sure it is powered
    Select the wireless configuration wizard
  5. When you are prompted, select your network name SSID
  6. Enter your password (key) wireless. It is case sensitive.

Once the connection has been established, if please collect the IP address and try to open the browser EWS printers again.

Once you are able to open the EWS Navigator, it will prove with 100% certainty that your printer and your computer communicate on the network once more.

Please reply to this message with the result of your troubleshooting. I look forward to hear from you!

    cmd

Command prompt opens in a separate window.

    c. Type "ping" followed by the URL of the Web site, you are trying to ping. You must leave a space between the 'ping' and the URL.

For example, ping Yahoo.com, enter the following command:

    Ping www.yahoo.com

    d. apply the command by pressing the key "Enter" on the keyboard. You should see the information on statistics for the address ping IP is entered, including the number of packets sent, received or lost.

If there is no packet lost, your Internet connection is working normally. However, if there are packages that are lost, you may have a problem with your Internet connection.

    Hello

What link are you using exactly: LAN or WLan.

LAN and WLan connection use the TCP/IP protocol.
If you use the local network connection, go to the properties of LAN connection and choose the version of the Internet 4 TCP/IP protocol.
Click on TCP/IP properties of this 4 and make sure that the options obtain an IP address automatically called and the DNS server address automatically get was chosen.
Also disable the TCP/IP 6 Internet Protocol version as this could do some problems in older routers

  • Cannot access internet occasionally during the day. Having to reconnect.

    problem 169.254

My PC is running XP and is licensed and up-to-date. I connect to Internet using ISP Orange and a Livebox router. Occasionally, maybe once a day, I can't access the Internet or e-mail. I can't repair the connection, which is to get a new IP address. While in this condition I CAN access internet through my netbook, wireless, which also works in XP. This makes me think that my router IS connected to the internet. I can re - establish an internet connection by removing power to the router and reconnect the power supply after a few seconds. However, this process is very annoying that the router then takes about 3 minutes to make an internet connection.  I found that my IP (before the reset of the router) on my desktop connected cable (that has the problem) has been 169.254.16.60. I understand that it is the beach allocated to private networks. I tried all the suggestions including reset winsock, TCP/IP reloading, loaded the latest drivers for NETWORK card and disable my firewall (Outpost). My PC is permanently set to get an IP by DHCP. It lasts for almost a year now and I think I've tried everything. I don't want to reload XP. I suspect that this has started happening after I deleted a scanning program of free registry that I had downloaded from net ther. I have just run Microsoft Safety Scanner and it has reported, no spyware, malware or viruses. My AVG virus program and is up-to-date.

Anyone has any suggestions please. I'm not an expert by any means think (!) I understand what I'm doing!

    Mike

It might actually be your 'firewall' (Outpost)... that is causing your problem!

(What "adversarial"... with an integrated XP! Even if you say that it (XP) has been disabled! Not COMPLETELY allowing your router working properly, because it is "in conflict" with that, too!)

Turn it off (Outpost)... means that the software application still in your computer and always 'in conlfict"with the XP firewall.

In regard to the average of your software antivirus, crikey, why not OPT for the Microsoft Security Essentials?

    Yes, I did.

It's free, as long as the OS is legitimate, and, as they say,... yours is!

SET all SETTINGS... REMOVE, and everything is DONE (by the 'set up' scheduling)... for you.

(By the way, it uses AS it's very own firewall (firewall Defender)... or XP.) "They are much safer to use.)

Download it, it's ready to install, once you remove moy.

Update as soon as you have it installed, and properly "standing upward", nothing could be easier.

As for your router, I suggest you contact your ISP provider.

To help RESET your router once again correctly!

And, oh, one last thing... Stop your 'DIY '.

('Tinkering' would be used to do any bad problem much worse than it really is! By your own admission, you have done enough of that! Get it all right, even once, then leave well alone.)
