Impossible to activate WLAN in Satellite L500

My home wireless network have abandoned for an hour this morning and when she came back on the wireless on my laptop was turned over. I understand that there is no any external switch for the wireless and the combination Fn + F8 does not work. (F8 is not even on the screen when I press F8 but all others do). My iphone and laptop spare are connected well, so I know that this is not a problem with my internet at home.

The laptop is running Windows 7, that it came with. I did nothing to change the elements of parameters / installed.

Is there another way I can turn on the wireless in a L500?

Hey Buddy,

Have you checked if your WLAN CAD is listed correctly in the Device Manager? In my opinion, you need to update the driver. The latest version, you can get here:
http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/WLAN/

If you have installed a 3rd party security/firewall software, make sure that it s not blocking not not the Internet connection.

  • How to activate on my Satellite L500 WLAN?

I have the Toshiba Satellite L500 and it has Windows 7. It has a switch something internal wireless or EV and I asked several people and they all say the same thing that you can activate the wireless with BIOS or using FN + F8 but I turned it on in the BIOS and the light on the front of the laptop with wireless on is not on and when I try the key Fn and F8 each other tab appears except the wireless.

It makes me angry that I almost want to take the laptop and bring it back even though it's a great laptop but wireless, I'm not interested.

Please help me solve this problem!

Please check device manager and be sure the wireless network adapter is installed and enabled correctly.
If the card is correctly activated all what you need to do is use the FN + F8 key combination.

Please note: If no wireless communication device is installed, no dialog box is displayed using FN + F8.

  • New WLan for Satellite L500-01u012 card

The wifi card is dead in my toshiba satellite earlier this week, its out of warranty and toshiba shop wants $200 to replace it with a 2.4 ghz standard card.

I'm looking to upgrade to a card capable of 5 GHz in all cases.
I found a card that looks good. http://www.bigfootnetworks.com/killer-wireless-n-1103/
I wonder if my laptop will support it?

The laptop is a Toshiba Satellite L500-o1u012 and the old card was Realtek RTL8191SE Wireless LAN 802.11n PCI-E NIC card mini pcie half size.

    The description says:

+ Killer 1103 Wireless-N adapters are supported by two bands (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz), 3-Stream MIMO and IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n standards-based in a mini-PCIe half size format. +

So it s a mini-PCI card and in my opinion, the local network card device must be compatible theoretically

because I need bluetooth that I swapped the Realtek RTL8188CE in my C660 for an Intel Centrion 1030.

Now I have bluetooth works fine, but I can't get wifi working: (, drivers installed well but I can't spend it switch using Fn F8, and the program of intel which accompanies said pilots "hardware Radio switch is off")

I tried swapping back to my old card wifi and then as magically wifi appears in Fn "Flash Cards", with no installed drivers for this card or anything, but when I use the card intel I have no wifi between "Flash Cards".

Is there a way I can force the wifi turn on?

  • Satellite C660 - impossible to activate WLan

I bought mine in November last year and was NEVER able to use the wifi since.

Tried this press FN and F8 or anything and it didn't work.

I had to use a bloody ethernet cable since and I think that it ended up damaging the socket and leaving me without service.

How, in simple terms, can I fix?
Never had such difficulties with my older model Hewlett Packard 2005.

    Hello

The simplest solution would be to drive HARD recovery.
This would create the laptop to factory settings and normally everything should work correctly using operating system set by Toshiba.

But you have problems with all FN keys?
If Yes, select all programs-> Toshiba-> maps Flash Utility and restart the tool.
If this does not work, reinstall the package of added value and utility of the Flash card.
Of course don't forget to day/reinstall WLan driver first

  • Impossible to activate wireless on Satellite L450D - 11H

Got a new Satellite L450D - 11H. Windows 7 preinstalled. Can not turn on wifi, Fn + F8 does not allow it. Any suggestions?

    Hello

You can not activate because the FN buttons do not work with Win 7 until the pilot and the tool is not installed.

I didn t find Win 7 driver currently on the European driver Toshiba page, but you can choose the drivers released for other Toshiba Satellite series.
Try to install the VAP released for i.e A350, P300 series or other package.

A friend of mine installed Win 7 on A500. Win 7 drivers are not available for this series, but he used the drivers for the A350 and most of the features and ok!

  • Impossible to use WLan on Satellite A10 PSA10A

Hello. I can't get my wifi working. I look in Device Manager and that you have no c no matter what wireless network connection.

    does anyone know if

    Toshiba Satellite A10
    Model PSA10A-3V1KK number
    Serial number: 54059282

even had a built-in wireless network card.

There is nothing in the pc card slot. When I turn the communication wireless turn on, the light is not on.

    Hello

The WLan card is not available or only as an option on some laptops Satellite A10.
This means that the laptop has been delivered without WLan minPCI card but it could be possible to improve it with the internal wireless Mini-PCI network card!

Due to your description, I assume that your laptop is ready WLan but the card is not installed, and therefore you cannot connect to any wireless LAN.

Install the good minPCI card Wlan on this laptop and you will be able to use the WLan ;)

Wireless network cards compatible minPCI are:
    PA3212U-4MPC (Agere 802. 11b)
    -PA3273U-2MPC (802. 11a / b).

  • Qosmio X 770-10 M - impossible to activate WLan using Fn + F8

    Hello

    I have a Qosmio X 770-10 M and I have a problem with the wireless.
When I want to trigger on the system with the Fn key, told "the switch button is off, please turn it down."
But there is no button on the Qosmio x 770...

Maybe the switch is lightning one (near the volume control).
But there is another problem here, I can not use this button. The volume control work, but the other does not.

I tried to reinstall the package of added value, the wireless device, and some other stuff, but it does not at all.

    Can you help me?

    Thank you

    Hello

There are lights in the front of the laptop.
The second right is the WLAN led. This should light up red if the WiFi is enabled.
    Have you noticed this?

The Wlan button is available in the key media row second from left near the ECO button. This button allows you to turn on the Wlan.

Usually, these buttons are controlled by VAP (value added package) and you was on the right way to reinstall what I have no idea why it does not work in your case, it should

How do you reinstall this PPV?
I recommend to uninstall the package, reboot the laptop, clean the registry (via CCLenaer). Then reboot and then again by installing the latest version of the Toshiba driver page

  • Re: Unable to activate WLAN on Satellite C660

    Hello

    My laptop model is "Satellite C660 psc0se" and I installed a * "windows 8 Cp" * "

Everything is good, but the Wi - Fi is 'off' and when I try to run through the active buttons does not work? What is necessary to work, what is the driver to install it, button knowing that all the buttons and the functions of the keys work except hot Wi - Fi

When I click on the button "fn + f8:" nothing happens and the Wi - Fi connection does not work
    Please what is the solution?

I guess you know how it works with Win7 that you got with your laptop. It will work on the same path with Win8 but problem is that Win8 isn't on t he market and Toshiba didn't start Win8 official support.

For now, you can try to use Win7 stuff, especially added Toshiba package. If this does not work I can just say: no luck!
There is no alternative at the moment.

I just hope that you created the recovery DVDs before Win8 installed.

  • Satellite L500 - cannot activate the WLAN on FN + F8

Hello to all users of Toshiba, Ii'm new to computers laptop Toshiba, this one beeing my 1st and iIhave a well-known problem, I read on the internet.

I recently bought a Satellite L500-13W. It has Realtek Wifi and comes with Vista OS. I deleted Vista OS since I have the license to the retail of Windows 7 Professional and Windows 7 top intalled. All work well, Audio, video, everything outside the wireless card. I enabled from the BIOS and everything and yet when I press FN + F8 it does not activate. The drivers are properly installed, as Windows 7 brings the upgrade of drivers. He said that the card works fine, but it does not turn on and search for Wifi signals. The Orange of the WIFI led does illuminate not.

If anyone has a solution for this problem, I would be very grateful. I don't know what can be the problem, the software or the hardware.

    Advice me please. Thank you.

    Hi Darius1990,

    > Drivers are properly installed, as Windows 7 brings upgrade drivers
This means that you have installed the Windows update WIFI driver and no official site of Toshiba, right?
Well, in this case, I would try the prétestées WLAN driver from Toshiba. So you can make sure that it s not a WLAN driver related problem. Just check the WLAN from Toshiba Portal:
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/WLAN/

Have you tested other FN keys combination?
If they don t work too you must install the package of added value and utility to Support Flash Cards because these two tools to control the function FN key and are important to use them correctly.

  • Satellite L500 - 1WG PSLS0E - impossible to reconnect wireless

    * Computer info: *.
    Satellite L500-1WG - Partnummer: PSLS0E-07502EN5

    Windows 7 Home Premium

The drivers are up to date:
-Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport Adapter version - date driver 21.06.2006 - 6.1.7600.16385
    -Realtek RTL8191SE Wireless LAN 802.11n PCI-E NIC - 30.07.2010 driver date version - 2017.2.730.2010
-Realtek PCIe FE Family Controller - 23.06.2010 - version 7.23.623.2010 driver date
I disabled the "allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" for all 3 of them.

    * Problem: *.
When I start the pc, it connects to my wireless router as usual, but then after that 30-60 minutes it stops working. He always finds the wireless router and the signal is excellent (4-5 bars), but when I try to connect it gives me the error message that it is impossible to connect to my router.

If I restart the PC, it is always impossible to connect.

But if I turn the computer completely off and leave it for a while, it works when I start it again, which suggests that he may need to cool (we noticed that the computer is warm enough, and that the fan is spinning a lot... but that could have been the same before - just that we it has not noticed that it was not a problem)

... But if I only it hibernates and let it cool for a while, it does not work to reconnect when I start again.

I did a test earlier: I started the computer and made sure the wireless connected - then I put into hibernation and he did it again, and after that, he was still unable to connect. Then I stopped had and turned on the right now - and then it works fine.

It's the same question at the local library, but my in-laws it worked fine for 2-3 hours the other day.

My other pc that runs on Ubuntu, works without problems on our wireless.

    Any ideas?
    -Is it a virus?
    - Or my card network is not able to take the heat (material)?
    - Or is this a bug of Windows/driver (software)?

I plan to reinstall windows, but before crossing with whom I was wondering if it's worth the hassle... Is it a hardware error, and should I just go directly to the seller?

What you can try is updated the BIOS. Latest version is installed on your laptop?

Another question: where you find WLAN driver version 2017.2.730.2010?
    Toshiba's latest version 2015.1.0427.2010?

  • Satellite L500 - 20 X - switch WLAN does not work after upgrade to Windows 8

    Hello

    I extend my Toshiba Satellite L500 - 20 X for Windows 8.
Unfortunately, since this update my WLAN switch is no longer working. All function keys work only (switch WLAN) F8 to F7, and F9 (touchpad) is more work.

    What can I do?

    Thanks in advance.

    Kind regards
    Klaus

Satellite L500 is not win 8 taken upgrade supported, so I think that the problem is a missing driver or software

As far as I know to be able to use the keys FN added value package to win 8 must be installed.
Check another area driver Toshiba notebook series supporting the Win 8.
Maybe you could use the VAP released for other series.

  • Satellite L500-1CQ automatically disconnect Wlan

    Hi all

deploy a satellite L500 = 1CQ and retains does the most annoying when I am connected via wireless to the Internet, if I leave the laptop for more than a minute, and then he throws me on the net and I close or restart to reconnect, if I press on firefox it says it can't find the server wen I know internet is ok

I presume that it must be something powersave, you disable the powersave to the map mode wireless in Device Manager, created a powerplan not to include this feature disabled hibernate, turned off sleep, I even uninstalled the eco utility but still no luck.

I thought, he could be a channel with the configuration problem with the router's wireless, so took off the coast of the English Channel automatic and tried a few different ones and I'm now on the track 11 but the same thing happens again.

It's a pain and is driving me crazy, I do a lot of paperwork at home, and if I get a cup of tea or go to the toilet, etc (sorry too much information lol!) I can't connect to the net wen I return

    Thanks in advance
