Impossible to delete the ghosts

"ghost files", it's the best name I can get to those annoying files. I have 720 files, (it was a group of photos before they turned ghost) which cannot be deleted.
When I deleted the folder, the files in the folder remained, stating that they were always fixed to the deleted folder. The files themselves, 720 all of them are on order, does not open and says that these files were deleted when I try to open them.
When I try to delete them it does not say that these files do not exist. They are inaccessible in anything other than a search on the whole of the system. They claim to be in a non-existent folder under 'photos '. I do not understand where they are... When I search in 'pictures' alone, they come to the top, but it is only a single folder in 'pictures' and when I scan that they do not appear... So either they float data... or something is wrong... I'm getting a headache, and they are annoying me no end. For some they can be ignored, but I'm afraid, I'm a perfectionist and can't be beat there... any advice would be greatly, greatly appriciated.

I am considering a system wipe, but it of unfortunately my system of work and has many paid programs assigned to this system alone which i could not with a thorough cleaning. It also has about 15 years of data on patients in it, which would be able to be saved, but that would require little time to transfer this im afraid I simply not.

NAA.6006016003c02800dc0bc7f0b6f0e311 is a fibre channel LUN of our VNX5500 presented to our 5.1U2 7 vSphere hosts.  He is identified as LUN 0 seen through the vSphere on all 7 host one Client is an empty data store.

When I remove the data store and detach the LUN it greys out as expected.  I'll then the the VNX and only remove LUNS from the storage pool, which in turn deletes it hosts during a whole 'Rescan '.

Naa.6006016003c02800dc0bc7f0b6f0e311 of time disappears, a new LUN 0 naa.50060160bde00e5850060160bde00e58 appears and there is no size related and there is no new data store.  If I choose 'Storage to add' this 'Phantom' volume is not available and I can take it apart and put it together, but there is nothing there and it is not really related to any real storage.  It's just a ghost LUNS in vSphere.

If I add the real naa.600... LUN to the storage pool, naa.500 disappears and LUN 0 reflects correctly again with naa.600... identifier.  I remove again and LUN 0 becomes naa.500... identifier again.

I want two-pass, but I can't get rid of naa.500... little matter what I try.

In the game there is no DTS or SIOC.

I restarted management, but also a restart services.sh officers when none of those who have worked I reloaded 1 host but it has not yet remove the ghost LUNS.

I did all the tricks of esxcli I can find related to the deletion of volumes.  More funny thing is when I run the command to take it apart, put on 'off' etc, the gray naa.500 of volume in the customer and orders are successful.  Then I run the actual delete command and it is running successfully within the CLI, but if you look at the GUI, naa.500... which was gray becomes active (not grayed out) within a period of a few seconds after the removal of the CLI.

    Whack how?

I suspect it's something behind of a volume that no longer exists and probably did not exist for a long time, but who was not properly removed when he was abducted.

Someone has suggestions for how to get rid of this volume mysterious ghost?

It is by design with multiple EMC storage systems. Unless you present a LUN with a 0 host ID, you will see the LUN of 'management' (which is not a disk device) as LUN 0 on the host.

  • Impossible to delete the partitions or format C

I have a mobile shadow Smart Power (a special Aldi 2004), which comes with no hidden restore disc, but it has a much utility and disk etc. drive OEM drive.  I need to reformat C and reinstall XP Home... nothing seems to work - after surfing several hours for a reply and try to all the ones I found!  I can not get an option to format using disk management, because it is grayed out, and if I use the disc provided as a boot disk, I can't delete the partition as it says that it is in use / mounted.  Can anyone help please... as I suspect that the XP disc resembles C and just by looking at him, he believes that it is in use, so it will not let me delete the partition or format C.  I don't know how to get around this problem with the discs that I have... and experience tells me that shadow are desperate for assistance to the user, so there is probably no point of contact with them.

All I can understand about shadow is that it was an Austrian company which has since been bought by a Taiwanese company and has almost no information available online support (although there seems to be quite expensive telephone support lines).

You cannot remove or format the system partition (the one where Windows) of Windows.  This is why there are bootable CD installation/restoration of the system, the idea being that if you run with an operating system on the CD, you can do what you like on the hard drive.

Your drive "OEM", is supposed to be a system restore disk or just a collection of software and drivers?

If it is a restore disk, when you start from it, it should just restore the computer to its original state, or at least give you an option to do so.

Can you describe the screens that appear when you start from your OEM drive?

  • Impossible to delete the Cache of the Preview on LR4 (Mac 10.10.3). Message says it's 'in service '.

I use on Mac 10.10.3 LR4. My catalog is on an external HD LR (iOmega 1 TB) stops due to the "error in the reading of the preview cache and must stop."

I read on previous forums I need to delete the cache of the preview.  I found this file (in the same folder that the Lightroom - the preview cache named catalogue ends with Previews.LRDATA.) and put it in the trash.  HOWEVER, it will not erase.  I get the message: "the operation cannot be completed because the item"LR4 catalogue on MacBkPro Previews.lrdata"is in use.  Help!

I see this once in awhile on my Mac with other files where I can't empty a file out of the garbage with the same error message.  For example, sometimes sound when I drag a photo to email to send to someone and then try to delete and remove the photo from the trash.  Its not actually used, but it does not remove the trash.  A COMPLETE computer restart is the only way to solve the problem.  I don't worry about trash what is until I do a restart.  This habit of can't do not until Yosemite is out and it is still happening in El Capitan. It is another example of the quality of Apple's OS fast downhills.

  • Impossible to delete the Inbox in outlook express

I've had problems with Outlook Express 6.0 for a couple of minths now.  I can't delete messages in my Inbox and I can't drag those I want to save to other folders.  It is also extremely slow to open now.

Any ideas that I can do to get this back to the way that it work use dto?

I don't know what happened because of this problem.

This can be difficult if you have messages in the Inbox you want to save, so let's start with what is safe.

Create a new folder deleted items with no message in it that you want to save.

Tools | Options | Maintenance | Store folder will reveal the location of your Outlook Express files. Note the location and navigate on it in Explorer Windows or, copy and paste in start | Run.

In Windows XP, the files of user OE (DBX and WAB) are by default marked as hidden. To view these files in Windows Explorer, you must enable Show hidden files and folders under start | Control Panel | Folder Options icon | Opinion, or in Windows Explorer. Tools | Folder options | View.

With OE closed, find the DBX file for deleted items and delete it.  Another will be created automatically when you open OE.

Close OE, reboot and see if you can move messages from the Inbox to a folder created by the user. After the return. There is much more to do.

    Hi KAD Rebar,.

    1. Did you the latest changes on the computer?
    2. When was the last time it was working fine?
    3. Are you having similar problem with all the files you are trying to move or remove it from the computer?
    4. You have security software installed on the computer?

    Method 1

See the link below and run the Fixit tool available, check if it helps.

Diagnose and repair Windows files and folders problems automatically

    http://support.Microsoft.com/mats/windows_file_and_folder_diag/

    Method 2

If the previous step fails, then I suggest that you start the computer in safe mode and check if the problem persists.

A description of the options to start in Windows XP Mode

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/315222

If the problem does not persist in safe mode, then it is possible that some third-party programs installed on the computer is causing the problem.

I suggest that you put the computer in a clean boot state and check if it helps.

To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows XP by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

See section to learn more about how to clean boot.

How to configure Windows XP to start in a "clean boot" State

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/310353

Reset the computer to start as usual

When you are finished troubleshooting, follow these steps to reset the computer to start as usual:

    (a) click Start, type msconfig in the search box and press ENTER.

    (b) If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password or click on continue.

    (c) under the general tab, click the Normal startup option, and then click OK.

    (d) when you are prompted to restart the computer, click on restart.

    Hi Don,

Thank you for using the Microsoft Windows Vista Forums.

I would recommend that you start your computer in safe mode and see if you can remove it from there.

HOW TO START YOUR COMPUTER IN SAFE MODE:

Remove all floppy disks, CDs and DVDs from your computer and restart your computer.

Click Start, Shut Down, and then, in the drop-down list, select restartand click OK.

    Do one of the following:

If your computer has a single operating system installed, repeatedly press the F8 key as your computer restarts. You need to press F8 before the Windows logo appears. If the Windows logo appears, you need to try again.

If your computer has more than one operating system, use the arrow keys to select the operating system you want to start in safe mode, and then press F8.

In the Display Options Options Advanced startup, use the arrow keys to select the safe mode option you want and press ENTER

Log your computer with a user account with administrator rights.

When your computer is in safe mode, you will see marked Safe Mode in the corners of the screen. To leave safe mode, restart your computer and let Windows start normally.

If please reply and let us know if your problem is resolved or if you need further assistance.
