Impossible to disable the touchpad on my dell inspon laptop windows 7
No matter how I try, keyboard gets up in the middle of the text, I type. have not been able to turn off on my computer dell laptop, windows 7
Hello Joan.
You must have an application on your portable computer that governs your Touchpad control. To find it, go to control panel, click Properties of the mouse, find the Touchpad tab along the top row of tabs. Click on that and you should be able to find several parameters that allow you to disable the buttons, the buttons on pointing stick and Touchpad itself. In addition, it has a checkbox to disable the Touchpad when an external mouse is detected.
If you do not have this application, you must download it from the Dell site. To do that I need the model laptop, you have (all letters and numbers) or your number Service number (at the bottom of the laptop), as well as the version and color depth of Windows 7 you are using (Tip: go into Control Panel, click on system, the info is in the first box of information).
After back here with your results. Let me know if you have any questions.
Kind regards

Hi, I tried to connect my laptop (Windows 8.1-64-bit) on my printer (HP Deskjet 1050 all-in-One J410 series). I tried to install the printer using the CD that came with it, but it shows a message "not compatible with this operating system". After reviewing previous questions here, I tried to download the software driver for this printer. None of these files have no effect with some presenting a message saying that the device must already be installed on the laptop for it to open. Anyone able to help?
Thank you!
Hello

How to disable the touchpad on my Dell Studio, Windows 7 computer. __
When I tried to open the properties of the panel control and mouse I don't see an option for touchpad and can't turn it off. I tried to alreaady that follows:
1. click the button start on your computer screen (lower left corner), and then type main.cpl in the search box. When you finish typing, click on enter on your keyboard.
2. in the new window that opens, click on the tab settings of the device at the top. It should be the last on the right.
3. Although, in the section parameters of the device, make sure that the name of your touchpad is highlighted (it should already be), and then click Disable. Click OK, and then click OK again when the warning box appears.
Problem: there is NO option of touchpad
Probably you are missing the driver for the dell touchpad.
It is available on the dell support site or the reinstallation cd.

FN + F3 disable the Touchpad does not work. Dell XPS L702X
Hello, I am new to this forum.
The function FN + F3 that disable the Touchpad does not work, my laptop Dell XPS 17 (L702X)
I googled my problem and the only thing I found was this: http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/laptop/f/3518/t/19454265.aspx
I think that my problems with the touchpad started when I plugged a mouse into the USB port. It didn't work (it worked well before), and in material-sound-mouse control panel, the system asked me to uninstall a driver or other. I do not remember, but later the mouse worked.
After this weird thing with the mouse, I noticed that the touchpad was malfunctioning. While I write, the cursor moves without touching the touchpad, it is annoying because it makes me write bad because he is moving in the middle of writing, as I write so it's a mess.
The second oddity, the Fn + F3 does not disable the touchpad, the orange light come on (the led on the top of the touchpad), but the cursor can be moved in any case, with or without a connected mouse.
I checked for driver updates, perform an audit of the system, checked for viruses, spywares and I don't know what I could do. I don't know if the problem with the mouse had nothing to do with the function Fn + F3 problem.
I have not formatted or re installed windows 7, never.
In Device Manager I have this:
-mouse and other pointing devices:-Compatible PS/2 mouse
Help, please. Thank you.
DOH! Problem between Chair and keyboard...
C:\dell\drivers\R289237
Run the executable file of Synaptics.
Download of extracts only the program on your disk. You must manually install the driver for the Synaptics touchpad with its own executable.
FN + F3 now disables =)

I was on the Dell site to see if it is a question of laptop. I have not received response to date. Please help I don't like the concept of the touchpad. I much prefer a mouse and do not use one. I would like for the touchpad on my Dell Inspiron 1545 are automatically disabled when I plug in my Logitech wireless mouse.
Thanks to all who responded.
I had this mess when I did a system update Dell routine and sent the new Alps driver, who immediately washed Select my previous settings.
Yes, I tgried to return to the former pilot, who worked flawlsly for many a yearf without success.
I finally solved the problem, at least on my machine.
A. Click Start; in the RUJN area type: main.cpl
B. click on the graph of a touchpad
C. click DEVICE SELECT
D. at the bottom of this window, you will see a "Disable touchpad" line preceded by a checkbox. Check the box and now the touchpad is disabled.
It worked on two Dell laptops different, I've worked on both running Win 7 SP1 with the new driver Alps.
Good luck to all and THANKS for the suggestions.
