    Hello

Have you made changes on the computer before this problem?
    Method 1:
I suggest you try the steps from the following link:
How to resolve problems connecting to Windows Update or Microsoft Update
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/818018
Important: This section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. For more information about how to back up and restore the registry, click on the number below to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base: 322756 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/322756) how to back up and restore the registry in Windows.
    Method 2:
I would say you can do clean boot and install updates:
How to configure Windows XP to start in a "clean boot" State
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/310353
Note: reset the computer in normal mode once the diagnosis is complete.
    Method 3:
I would say that you can download and install the updates from the Download Center.

  • Error code 0 x 80248014 when you try to run MSE Update on Vista 64 bit OS

Tomb guard Windows Update crashes when you try to run the Service Pack 1 for Vista 64 even if it seems to have installed service pack when I view installed updates.  Update the window continues to show the service pack update according to availability.  So far, I ran it three times and he shows as installed three days in a row, but he does not appear in the properties view and continues to show an available update when I check for updates.

It's a little confusing because the error code 0 x 80248014 appears when you try to update to MSE, so there seems to be two issues.  The MSE error one and two, the apparent success of the installation of the Service pack 1 for 64 bit Vista Home Premium but not appear in the properties view and always appear when checking for updates, even if each attempt to install appears to be successful.

  • I get the error code 0 x 80246002 when you try to install Windows XP Service Pack 2 on my machine.

I recently did a complete reformat of the hard drive due to other errors.  I also have errors like the file is corrupted after trying to install other files of other non-microsoft Web sites.  Any ideas?

Vista SP2 is available through Windows Update?

What application or antivirus security suite is installed and your current subscription?  What anti-spyware (other than Defender) applications?  What third-party firewall (if applicable)?  Any of these applications running in the background when you attmpeted to install SP2?

A (another) Norton or McAfee application has already been installed on this machine (for example, a free trial version that came preinstalled when you buy it and that would have been reinstalled, but invalid, when you reinstalled Windows)?

    The foregoing despite...

Original title: Windows update problems on pc of the year 9 after reformat

    Hello Crom

My first advice is to slowly get out of Windows XP... It's time to upgrade, but that's my opinion.
This problem is very common and can be easily solved by:
    1. Download the latest Windows Update Agent
      http://download.windowsupdate.com/WindowsUpdate/redist/standalone/7.4.7600.226/WindowsUpdateAgent30-x86.exe
    2. Then click on your keyboard click the Windows + R at the same time
    3. Type CMD and press enter
    4. Now, enter the command

      net stop bits

    5. Run the Windows Update Agent
    6. Enter the following command at the command prompt (step 2):

      net start wuauserv

    7. Now, enter the command

      Net start bits

Let me know if it solves your problem.

  • Error code 0 x 644, when you try to download KB951847 Service Pack for Windows XP

Priority update "Microsoft.NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1 and the .NET Framework 3.5 Family Update for versions of .NET 2.0 to 3.5 (KB951847) x 86", Windows XP (with Office 2003), a failure to install message appears with the error code 0 x 644.

It didn't the first time on April 23, 2010 and several times since. There are now 41 emergency updates waiting to be installed, apparently blocked by this failure a transfer.

How do I resolve this situation?

KB951847 is an option, not the security update. Feel free to hide it.

    ====================

    1. stop the automatic updates service:

    Start > run > services.msc (enter) > [OK]
Double-click Automatic Updates > click Stop
(Stopping the service will take a moment)

2 remove the contents of the download folder:

    Start > run > %windir%\SoftwareDistribution (enter) > [OK]
Open the download folder and delete its contents
    Close the window.

    3. go to the Windows Update Web site. Select CUSTOM and allow the analysis to be performed. Uncheck the box/deselect KB951847 and hide ("don't show me this update").

    4. start the automatic updates service:

    Start > run > services.msc (enter) > [OK]
Double-click Automatic Updates > click Start
(Starting the service will take a moment)
