Impossible to file void elements removed in Windows Mail.

I always emptied my bin of deleted almost messages every day, but I now have a bunch of them stuck to the folder.  When I click on it, there is a message: "Message could not be displayed.  WIndows mail encountered an unexpected problem by displaying this message. Search your computer lack of memory or low disk space and try again. »

I checked for a short mΘmoire and disk space, and that seems fine, but these emails are always blocked.  (By the way, when I first opened those e-mails in my Inbox, there was no message of this type, I was able to read very well).  When I try to click on them individually, I get "an unknown error has occurred."

It drives me nuts, because now, I have to individually delete each element, because if just trying to empty all at the same time, he won't do it.

I got on the phone all day with Toshiba and Microsoft.  They just keep bouncing back me between them.  Help!

The problem is that there is incompatibility between the database and what is really there in the storage folder, in terms of a message.  To fix it, compact and then repair the database (seewww.oehelp.com/WMUtil/).  Then see if it works very well.  To prevent it in the future, make sure you have a non-invasive antivirus software and do not e-mail analysis or eml file type included to be automatically scanned. Left Sode of the screen of Windows Mail are the names of files where the old emails can be stored. How to find the and then download them to a file separately on aflash drive as a back-up? They can be found using Windows Explorer or by using the regular 'real estate' research given to you by right-clicking on the name of the file in the Mail window.

Messages are stored in a hidden folder that you can locate it in Windows Explorer.  To do this go to the control panel. Folder options | View and uncheck Hide extensions of known file types and also to verify the possibility to see the hidden files and folders.  Then in Winmail opener you can go to tools | Options | Maintenance | Advanced | Store the folder to view the location of the message store.  You can then navigate to that folder in Windows Explorer and slot that you will find a subdirectory "Local Folders" and by whom are all of your boxes to the letters and messages stored as eml files.  You can copy this store of the entirety of the message, and then on an external drive to back it up.  I believe you can also use file | Export | Messages in Winmail to save outside.

    Try this:

    Go to this registry key:

Then, create a new DWORD entry and call NoSplash.  Then set the value to 1.

That's how it worked in OE (see http://www.insideoe.com/faqs/how.htm) and it should work this way in WinMail.

  • Windows Mail JPG attachments get the error message "cannot find... .jpg file.

Recently, I try to open JPG files in Windows Mail and get an error message window that says that "Windows cannot find"filename.jpg"make sure you typed the name correctly and then try again" I can save the JPG file, then open it, but Windows Mail won't open it by simply clicking on the attachment JPG.

There has been reports of this behavior with only some files (.jpg or .pdf) and the reports of this problem with each attachment after installing IE8.  Frankly, they are quite few and inconsistent and avisnon there is no clear solution.  Try these two steps in this order.

    1. Use this utility to 'fix' to reset the Security http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/949220 settings
    2. Use this utility to re - register a lot of IE http://iefaq.info/index.php?action=artikel&cat=35&id=133&artlang=en important .dll

There are other actions that must be reported to temporarily fix the problem - move to the location of the internet temportary file, for example.  Another reported a little is to uninstall IE8 and then reinstall it with all the temporarily disabled third-party security software.

Since you have only this problem with .jpg files, you can try to reset file associations for .jpg.  Open an administrator command prompt (right click on cmd in the start menu and choose "Run as Administrator").  In the administration command prompt window, type the following lines exactly as shown:
    Assoc .jpg = jpegfile

    Assoc .jpeg = jpegfile

    ftype jpegfile=%SystemRoot%\System32\rundll32.exe "%ProgramFiles%\Windows Photo Gallery\PhotoViewer.dll", ImageView_Fullscreen %1

  • Where are the files of Windows Mail messages and contacts stored in Windows 7?

I backed up a Windows 7 system and restored to factory State by doing a restore of the system because the system has been seriously infected by viruses.  I couldn't do the export before the system recovery.

Now, given the Windows 7 system restore brand new I am trying to restore Windows Mail account.  In fact, I can't tell if it was a front window Mail or Windows Live Mail.  I don't know if the locations of the files for messages and contacts of these two letters are different.

When I go to c:\users\%username%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\, I don't see Windows Live Mail but Windows Mail.  So does that mean it was a Windows Mail system not a before Windows Live Mail System.  I copied the files saved in Windows Mail system on the same path directory in the newly recovered system, but it doesn't seem to make a difference when I open Windows Live Mail, which is the only e-mail program on the newly recovered Windows 7 system.

Can someone confirm the locations of the files to messages and contacts, Windows Mail and Windows Live Mail in the operating system Windows 7 home.  Can I just copy the files on?  With Outlook 2007 and 2010, she usually works if I simply copy the files or import from the saved file.  Also should which file names be so that I can easily identify them?  Are the mail accounts and password setup to re - enter as Outlook 2007/2010 or are stored in the files I can simply copy to the new system?

  • Corrupted Windows mail message store

When I open Windows mail a popup will appear indicating that the message store was damaged by a source outside of windows but no antivirus can detect a problem and it makes me lose all my files stored. Some used to recover, but recently, they have just disappeared. What's up with that?

    Hello

You can rebuild the Windows mail store and check.

This method will help you rebuild the message store. By rebuilding the message store, only the messages that have no errors cannot be loaded and delete messages that contain errors.

To remove the Windows Mail message store file and then rebuild, follow these steps.

Step 1: Search for the message store

Find the folder that contains your personal message store. The message store is usually located in:

    hard disk\Users\user\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Mail

If it is not located there, you can find its location through Windows Mail. Follow these steps.

    1. in Windows Mail, click Tools, then Options.

    2. in the Options dialog box, click the Advanced tab, and then click the Maintenance button.

    3. in the Maintenance dialog box, click the store folder button.

    4. in the location dialog box to store, right click on your personal message store is located in the following folder, and then click Select all.

    5. right click on your personal message store is located in the following folder, and then click on copy.

    6. click on cancel or close to close all dialog boxes.

  • Unable to find saved emails and error message "content of this message is not found ' in Windows mail

Original title: How can I find backup Windows Mail e-mail files that are now gone?

    Hello

You can perform the following methods and check if it solves the problem.

Method 1: Rebuild the Windows Mail message store

This method will help you rebuild the message store. By rebuilding the message store, only the messages that have no errors cannot be loaded and delete messages that contain errors.

To remove the Windows Mail message store file and then rebuild, follow these steps.

    Look for the message store

For Windows Mail, by default, the data is stored in the location C:\Users\\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Mail
Check if the data is present in this folder. If it is present, you can import the data into Windows mail.

    i. open Windows Mail by clicking Start , all programs, and then click Windows Mail.
II. click on the file menu, point to importand then click Messages.
III. click on Windows mailand then click Next.
IV. make sure import mail from a windows mail store directory is selected, and then click OK.
    v. click Browse, find the folder of windows Messaging (C:\Users\\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Mail) you copied to this computer and then click on the file once to select it. (Do not open the folder when you select).
VI. click Select a folderand then click Next.
VII. click all folders to import all the folders, or click Selected foldersand select which message folders you want to import and then click Next.
    VIII. click Finish.

    Method 2: Virus scanner

You can download Microsoft Safety scanner, which provides on-demand scan, and remove viruses, spyware and other malicious software. It works with your current antivirus software.

See the link to download Microsoft Safety scanner on the system.

    http://www.Microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx

Note: The Microsoft Safety Scanner ends 10 days after being downloaded. To restart a scan with the latest definitions of anti-malware, download and run the Microsoft Safety Scanner again.

Warning: The data files that are infected can be cleaned by removing the file completely, which means that there is a risk of data loss.

    Hope the helps of information.
