Do you mean the address bar on the toolbar of Navigation or a web page with a search as the topic bar: home page?

Make sure that you run not Firefox mode full screen (press F11 or Fn + F11 to toggle; Mac: Ctrl + Shift + F).

Make sure the toolbars like the toolbar 'Navigation' and the 'personal bar' are visible:

  • Firefox > Options
  • "View > toolbars".

Open the window customize to set the toolbar to display items:

  • View > toolbars > customize
  • Firefox > Options > toolbars
  • Make sure the "Bookmarks Toolbar items" are on the personal bar
  • If the "Bookmarks Toolbar items" is not on the bookmarks toolbar, then FRY it in the toolbar palette in the window the bookmarks toolbar Customize
  • If the missing elements are in the toolbar palette then drag them from the window, customize the toolbar
  • If you do not see an item on a toolbar in the toolbar palette and then click the button "Restore default" to restore the default toolbar set up

  • How can I get the Awesome Bar Google search parameters?

For example: if I type "site:support.mozilla.org browser" in Google or even some new-tab for Firefox addons, I get a page with the Google search results on this site for that keyword. If I type the same line in the "Awesome Bar", I get an error page.

I would like different settings of Google search through when you use the address bar to search.

This should work if you type search terms and additional parameters such as site:xxx.com at the end.

  • How can I get more results that contain the tag/bookmark appears in the awesome bar? Currently, it will show only 4.

When I type a word in the address/url/awesome bar it's a word that I know that I used as a tag on several pages of a bookmark, only 4 results in the menu drop-down are marked pages of a bookmark. The rest of the pages in the menu drop-down are other pages available on the web. Because only 4 results are pages I tagged, the page I want to (and scoring) often does not appear. Is there a setting I can change to make it show more results? Or is there a way once I get the original results to add extra elements containing the tag / my favorites?

    Hi Lew100

You are in full screen (press F11 to toggle)?

    You see the Navigation bar?

    • Firefox menu button > Options

  • I don't get the Awesome Bar suggestions...

If I type something in the awesome bar, it is not give suggestions. I tried safe mode, but no change...

I use Firefox 4.0.1 but I also had the problem with 4.0 and 5.0 (beta).
    I use Windows 7 (64-bit).

Disable "AVG Safe Search", it causes problems of location bar as the ability to use 'Enter' can be a symptom of many other problems such as accidents and crashes. It is listed in the extensions problematic - MozillaZine Knowledge Base , and it must be stuck in the block list. You must follow the instructions to reinstall "AVG Free" without the "Link Scanner" component so that it will not continue to be a problem with the new profiles or new versions of Firefox. Compensation for the "AVG" antivirus version has an option to disable the 'feature '.

Don't know if that will solve your problem, but try it first.

Safe mode would have stopped the extension so it's not the immediate problem.

  • How can I remove the default awesome bar visit link?

I just upgraded to firefox v43.0.1 and the awesome bar began including that this "visit < URL >" link whenever I have started typing a few letters. It's driving me crazy. The only thing I want to show that it is my favorite items (i.e. marked with a bookmark). This "visit < URL >" just started to appear immediately after I've updated today.

The only thing I've enabled in tools > Options > privacy > address 'Bookmarks' bar which is how it has always been. Why is it now show this '< URL > visit' in the drop-down list and how do I get rid of him?

This is a new feature in Firefox 43. To turn it off to do this:

    1. Go about: config in Firefox
    2. Click on the I'll be careful button
    3. Locate the Boolean browser.urlbar.unifiedcomplete
    4. Change the false value

Note: You may need to restart Firefox for the changes to take effect.

  • How can I erase the Awesome bar?

I followed the instructions provided by Mozilla.
    IT DOES NOT WORK.
No matter what I do, if I type in the bar location... also called the address bar... also called the Awesome bar... should have been called the useless bar... old sites Web will show that I have not visited in more than a year.
Even if I clear my history every day.
Yes, I select AS my calendar.
Yes, I click AND DOWNLOAD the HISTORY of NAVIGATION.
Still, whenever I type anything in the bar of Useless, old sites Web is suggested.
How can I erase this and never make it do this again?
How can I get the guy who designed the bar pulled Useless?

(On another note... why I have to provide a password of eight letters at least 1 number? If I want a weak password, MY risk. What do you care? Also, if every Web site requests a password of eight letters at least 1 number you are actually makes it easier to hack because I am limited on coming up with new personal passwords for me since I have to remember and you make it so complicated.)

    Hello

To disable the address bar to not display search history results. You can do this by going to Firefox-> Options-> privacy and select the option that says: "when you use the location bar suggest" and set it to "nothing". I have attached a screenshot that might make it easy for you to locate.

    I hope this helps.

  • My stuff of Awesome Bar Autofill of migrating to a new PC?

So I reinstalled Windows 7 on my laptop (on a separate hard drive). How can I get my Awesome Bar entered AutoFill from the old drive to the new? I don't like extensions, bookmarks, etc, but having bar autofill my sites would be, well, awesome.

Is there a certain file that I can copy or some other way to get this info?

    Thank you.

You can copy the places.sqlite file to the other computer.

The "Application Data" in XP/Win2K folder and the folder "AppData" in Windows Vista, Windows 7 and later versions are hidden folders.

  • I have a superfluous result in my awesome bar and cannot be removed

When I start typing in the awesome bar, I always get an accurate result and I can't understand how to remove it. It is not in my story, not in my favorites, I don't find it to remove it.
Most of the annoningly, it's autocomplete suggestion, so I always have to move around it.

What happens whenever, as I hit 'read' - head to Google Reader, but the result of AutoComplete is "readbility.com" but I can't find how to remove that.

You can probably just get rid of these entries by deleting the file places.sqlite.

  • Search engine of change in the Awesome Bar to IxQuick

How can I change the search engine in the bar of the impressive Ixquick? Here's the IxQuick search engine Web site. https://Ixquick.com/
I know how to change the search engine I do not know what URL to use to replace the awesome bar search engine IxQuick.

When I change the settings of IxQuick to 'GET' (turn off 'POST') the search for firefox URL looks like this (all one line):

    https://Ixquick.com/do/search?Lui=English & Language = English & cat = Web & query = Firefox

To set the keyword. URL, make sure that the URL ends with query = and Firefox will add your search terms on the end.

  • I'm having a strange problem with the awesome bar

The awesome bar/address bar is as impressive as it used to be. When I start typing in a speech, it seems that he does check more through my history and gives a list of possible matches but gives just the stem of an address. For example, if I type in "goo" will end this at 'google.com' if I add this with a "/ has" it's going to end this to 'google.com/analytics ' but it is also good that he doesn't get, as I say, no history list or bookmarks.

I checked the options and also about: config and all the settings are as they should be, as far as I can tell (and I certainly had not changed any of them when he began to behave badly). I have also disabled all extensions and plug-ins.

It is driving my crazy, because I quite often use sites whose long addresses and keep in mind each of the components of each address. I would go with Chrome, but I also use Firebug, a fair bit so don't really want to do.

Of the image, it seems that there is a persistent add-on. He was re-activated?

  • How can I customize the "awesome bar"?

I just got the upgrade forced to 12 Firefox, and while I don't like for much of the new interface, I can cope. That said, I can't stand the changes to the "awesome bar". It's very distracting that it appears highlighted whenever I have my cursor on it, and I don't like that all of the text other than the main domain (e.g. mozilla.org) is grey. Is it possible to return to normal?

You'd be able to get almost all the customizations you want via Add-ons and personas. There is a good post about that and more here.
