Do I need to install the important updates or recommended?
Original title: HP Pavilion Elite HPE210
I have reinstalled Windows 7 on this desktop computer. Do I need to install the important updates or recommended? I g6 Pavilion laptop which I reinstalled windows 7 same question but I don't update windows drivers. Who updates the drivers then?
Yes, of course, you must do all the Important Windows updates to bring your computer up-to-date and secure. In fact, most of these updates are patches to fix security vulnerabilities.
Optional updates are another matter. In fact, most of them is not good for your computer. You need a source very knowledgeable information to guide you to choose those.
Regarding the drivers,.
Almost without exception, your ONLY source of drivers for your computer are on the HP support web site. Windows Update will sometimes offer driver updates that mostly (but not always) are OK, but you should prefer the HP as your source.
Don't get caught up in a frenzy more updates driver. In practice, they rarely need to be looked at and then only if there is a specific problem to solve.
NEVER, use sites to update driver on the internet. They are virtually all the two sources of infection and/or updates bad and bad.

I have 64-bit Windows 8 and all these problems started when I tried to install the 8.1 update. Whenever I try to go to the store to update to 8.1 I get the error message saying "we were unable to connect to the store. This could have happened due to a server problem or network connection has expired. Please wait a few minutes and try again. "So I looked at this topic and you have tried all the tips of help from Microsoft, convenience stores, store transparent cache, etc. etc. etc. etc.. I can not connect to the store at all. Now I can't change users to a Microsoft account because it tells me that when I try that "we could not connect to the Microsoft services right now. If this problem persists, look for 'referee' on the start screen. "I also performed this task without success. Then I have a Windows update KB2862973 that fails to install and gives the error code 80073712. I looked for solutions to this problem, and those who have tried unsuccessfully. I really need someone to tell me how to fix all these issues, because I believe they should be linked. It is a desktop pc Dell that is connected to the internet without any problem and is only about 1 year. I am tech savy, but need HELP!
Thank you
Shane

Method 2:

By setting your boot system minimum state helps determine if third-party applications or startup items are causing the problem.

http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135Note: After the boot minimum troubleshooting step, follow step 7 in the link provided to return the computer to a Normal startup mode.
Method 3: Manually try to install updates from the Microsoft Download Center.
a. go to the Microsoft Download site, type the number of "KB" of the update in the download search box and then click OK.
b. in the list of search results, click on the (KB) Knowledge Base article link to go to the download page. If there is more than one list, look for a link that goes to the Microsoft Download Center.
c. If there are several versions on the download page, find the appropriate for your computer. Click on the download button and save the update to your desktop.
d. When you are prompted, click open to install the update.
Method 4: You can also try to perform the system restore , safe mode and check if the same problem occurs.
Note: When the computer is in safe mode, System Restore does not restore points. Therefore, you can not undo a restoration you performed when the computer is in safe mode.
