Hi BruceWalz,

·        What is the brand and model of the machine?

·        What is the full error message that you receive?

a. you can disable the eSATA from the BIOS (Basic Input Output System) drive and then try to start the installation of Windows XP from the Windows XP disc.

Note: Changing the BIOS / chipset can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the configuration of the BIOS/chipset can be solved. Changes to settings are at your own risk.

b. After you downloaded and installed the SATA drivers from the manufacturer's website, reactivate the eSATA drive.

Hope the helps of information. Please post back and we do know.

While upgrading from Windows XP Media Edition 2004 to XP ME 2005, I entered the 25-character product key and it would not take it. Then I tried to use the product key that came with my Sony VAIO that came with this version of Windows XP Media Edition 2004, it would not accept either. I am absolutely sure I had the correct product key because he was strong and had the Microsoft sticker on the package marked Upgrade of Windows XP Media Edition 2005. Could something else would cause because my ME XP 2004 had just been installed about two weeks ago. Earlier in the day (yesterday), SP 2 has been downloaded and installed.  I would point out product keys, but I don't want someone else to win by making and using my product key on their system. If you wish, I can give you my product keys for verification, if you wish.

    Hi BruceWalz,

You receive an error message or error code when you enter the product key?

She would not accept the product key of Windows XP media center 2004 that you have already upgraded to Windows XP 2005 Media Center.

You have to have XP SP3 installed for the wireless to work right, or you must have this patch for SP 2.

  • I upgraded my card mother cpu ram and hard drive. I reinstalled windows xp home edition has got all of the updates. After 9 latest updates download and installtion went well, I restarted the computer, I get a blue screen and the computer restarts

I upgraded my card mother cpu ram and hard drive. I reinstalled windows xp home edition has got all of the updates. After 9 latest updates download and installtion was going well until I rebooted the computer and go to page window showing all the icons that I get a blue screen and the computer restarts its self and does not stop. How can this be corrected?

    Hi KevinRy,

Welcome to the Microsoft Answers site!

    Unplug all external devices.

Try to start in safe mode. If you can start in safe mode, and then do a system restore to restore the computer to an earlier point in time.

Change the recovery settings to disable automatic reboot, if you are able to boot up to the desktop computer:

    1.

Right-click my computerand then click Properties.

    2.

    Click the Advanced tab.

    3.

Under Startup and recovery, click settings to open the Startup and recovery dialog box.

    4.

Clear the automatically restart check box, and then click OK many times necessary.

    5.

Restart your computer so that the settings take effect.

Now, when you are going to close and a fatal error occurs, you will see at least and it won't cause an automatic restart.

Please reply back with the error message you get because it helps us to resolve the error.

    Kind regards

  • Windows Xp Media Edition (and compatibility with Camtasia Studio)

Hi - I am looking to buy VM Fusion and could not find a simple

place to ask a very simple question: I currently have a laptop running

Windows XP (Media Edition). If I can clone this system and it will work on

my iMac as a virtual machine? I know that XP is supported, but whatever

This edition of Media Center problems would be useful to know.

Secondly, can I load Windows applications after installing virtual machine

Fusion (e.g. Camtasia Studio) or I need to install them before I

    clone of the machine?

Finally, had anyone actually run Camtasia Studio in a virtual machine

environment and if if - they had problems of desktop capture

activity between open mac and windows programs?

Know the answers to these questions would really help me make up my mind on how to move forward with the merger of the VM.

    Thanks in advance.

First of all, you can download a fully functional version of Fusion and get a free 30-day trial serial number in order to test if the merger is good for you.

Second, you can use VMware vCenter Converter to create a virtual machine from a physical computer, however if the Windows operating system came pre-installed OEM or is an OEM version, so he is not legally transferable to another computer by the EULA and may also verify that it is running on a hardware OEM and wouldn't work anyway. If you have a legally transferable copy of Windows and intend to remove it from the physical hardware after the conversion, then this is an option however with Windows Media Center not all features will work when virtualized and the features of Media Center with General questions.

As far as Camtasia Studio, I installed this in a Windows XP Pro VM and played with it a little but not enough to say that it is 100% usable in all its features.

The best thing I can suggest is take advantaged of the free 30 days trial serial number and see if the Fusion is a viable option for your needs and also there is Boot Camp where you would be under Windows natively on Apple hardware and would not have any different problem then other support material physical.

Original title: can someone help me

I have WINDOWS 7 HOME BASIC 64 - bit version of license with key in my laptop. I want to reinstall my windows but don't have CD or DVD.

New computers coming often pre-installed with Windows 7 have what is called a recovery partition. This is used to reinstall an operating system in the case of a system failure. To access it, you need to start when you start your computer by pressing a function key. This can be either F1, F2, F9, F10, F11, F12 key DEL or tab. See the manual that came with your PC for instructions on how to reinstall Windows.

This is how the recovery partition is accessible to most popular brands...

For Dell, press CTRL + F11 directly after switching on the device

For HP, press F11 directly after switching on the device

For LG, press F11 directly after switching on the device

For Toshiba, press and hold "0" BEFORE and during the power upward

For Acer, press and hold ALT + F10, as soon as you see the logo

For Asus, press F9, as soon as you see the Asus logo.

For Samsung, press F4 to the power upward...

For Fujitsu, press the F8 key directly after the power

Advent, restart your computer. Then, press F10 repeatedly until the message "Starting system recovery"

Sony VAIO, reboot and press "F8" or "F10" repeatedly until the screen "Advanced Boot Options".
