Impossible to update after reinstalling Windows 7

I have a computer Dell XPS 8300. When I bought the computer I bought a reinstall of Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 64 bit DVD with key code. I upgraded the computer to Windows 10, but repeated difficulties experienced with the installation of the updates. The last update, I have installed produces a blank screen on the computer. I decided to replace the two hard drives in this computer with the 1 TB SSD.   I replaced the drive and reinstalled Windows 7 Ultimate. Everything except the Windows Update works fine. I'm unable to update this computer.  When I click on update Windows I get update with scrolling green picture screen in the toolbar icons, but nothing happens.  I'm not worried reinstalling Windows 10, given the problems that I had.  Dell says that this computer has not been tested for compatibility with Windows 10.

I was surprised that Windows 7 has made request not to be activated after installation.  I right click the Start button in Windows and selected properties, but there was no indication that I need activate this version of Windows 7.  I have the key code and I did not change the motherboard. I don't understand why the Windows Update program does not work, or what I can do to solve the problem. I wonder if it has to do with the fact that I was unable to activate Windows 7.  I tried the Windows 7 update problems difficulty in the Windows Control Panel without success. Someone at - it solutions to this problem? Thank you for your help.

  • How much time after reinstalling window 7 32 Home Premium it take before that receive updates?

How long after reinstalling window 7 32 Home Premium does it take before that receive updates.

Should be immediately the minute that an Internet connection is detected. I would advise that you install updates Windows Update batch well. There are about 300 post SP1 updates, more if you have reinstalled the version Windows 7 RTM.

My recommendation would be to install updates in batches, these 5 at a time, exclude the hardware/driver updates. Avoid installing a set of updates for Microsoft Windows and Office at the same time. Also, try to install the first small updates. Avoid installing things like the .NET Framework and SQL Express updates.
Whenever you install updates (it's a chore, but it guarantees a more reliable experience). Try to start the Microsoft Office updates for programs such as (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
Another thing, try to download the updates, and then install them. When you are prompted to restart, disconnect from the Internet and restart your computer.
To proceed with the installation of additional updates.
If the continuous computer to become unresponsive, try the following:

Once the Fixit has been downloaded and the system is started in the pure State, check that the native Windows Firewall is now on if a 3rd party firewall has been used previously.  Now run the Fixit and choose the default mode.  Restart once it's done and see if the system can be connected to the update servers.  If he can't, then rerun the Fixit and choose aggressive mode.  Turn it back on when he finished the race and updates.
I suggest before you stop and install the updates, disconnect from the Internet, first.

Whenever you install a new update, it contains the updates released before. If you will get only the recent updates. When you run windows update, you also receive only for new updates when you're done with the updates offered. This might be a reason you found less updates after formatting windows.

Know what type of network card you have and download the drivers of its supplier.

  • After Reinstalling windows 7 stopped opening PSD files.

After Reinstalling windows 7 has stopped opening some files PSD files. I try to open them with Photoshop version 6, it does not work. I tried to open them on the laptop, same garbage. Tell me what is the problem. And how to fix it. Thank you.

Maybe these files have been corrupted. I can't say how it happened, but it is quite possible. And the files are no longer open, immediately after reinstalling windows? Or not?

If so, it is very rare in my opinion. You are very unlucky. Try to reinstall photoshop. Then check that these files have been opened or not. In the opposite case. Then the only solution is a special software. I would use this program http://www.photoshop.recoverytoolbox.com/ on your site

  • Windows updates after reinstall...

I had to reinstall Windows 7 and now is wanting to download 132 updates of Windows. I think that some updates caused problems initially, then how do I know which I should or should not install?

    Hello

If you have problems with Windows updates, it's trial and error refers to the 'problem' those.

    This should help you:

Microsoft gives sometimes you updates for the 3rd party hardware: graphics, network cards, etc.

You only get the latest drivers for them on the site of the manufacturer of the computer or piece of hardware, as Microsoft does normally or those have the most recent drivers available as Microsoft relies of the 3rd party hardware Manufactuer to provide.

But unfortunately, the only way to know which is the update of the problem is to install one at a time, until you find the 'problem' for your configuration.

If you're still worried about that, you can try to install the 'x' number of updates at the same time reduce the chances of having to find a 'problem' update...

But remember you normally only have problems with hardware 3rd party drivers. Other updates are to improve the Performance and security of your system

    See you soon.

When you Hibernate your computer, Windows saves the contents of the system memory in the hiberfil.sys file. As a result, the size of the hiberfil.sys file will always be equal to the amount of physical memory in your system. If you don't use the Hibernate feature and want to reclaim the space used by Windows for the hiberfil.sys file, perform the following steps:

-Start the Control Panel Power Options applet (go to start, settings, Control Panel, and then click Power Options).
-Select the Hibernate tab, uncheck "Activate the hibernation", and then click OK. Although you might think otherwise, selecting never under "Hibernate" option on the power management tab does not delete the hiberfil.sys file.
