Impossible to update Games for Windows Live
Games for windows Live will not uninstall
I can't upgrade to the new version of GFWL because that will not uninstall, it keeps asking me for a CD.
I tried to use the redistributable that I got from a game to uninstall, but it does not work either.
You can still get a working copy of the "Windows Uninstaller Utility" from Softpedia. Simply click on the 'blue box' to the left of the description and avoid downloading the rest of the Junk software listed as "Download." now
http://www.Softpedia.com/get/security/secure-cleaning/Windows-Installer-Cleanup-utility.shtml
I have this installed on my Windows 7, 64-bit and used more than once. Good luck, I hope this helps.

Games for Windows Live how to save GTA IV Savegames
A few weeks back I installed (via Windows updates) Games For Windows Live and it diverted Launcher of GTA IV all my save games of this profile now gone. All progress is lost. I restarted the game from the beginning and finally reached this point.
But there are few questions.
How to get back up to record games. What profile must be saved from App data or similar folder. And reinstallation of one or the other or both Windows and GTA IV. I have to recognize correctly save the profile and games. Am I'll settle GFWL (reinstall on windows) or I can play games with GTA IV save and start the game with the GTA IV launcher. In short be Games For Windows Live to play GTA IV. I really hate GFWL recital that he deleted hours of gamplay saved on my drive.

Games for windows live cannot connect
Games for windows live cannot connect to the internet, this problem started last week when I tried to play Dawn of war 2 online. At that time I was running Vista Ultimate 64 bit and after exhausting all existing boards on this site and many others, I decided to completely format my PC and start again with Windows 7 64 bit, but I have the same problem exact. only now my profile is no longer stored on my PC because I formatted so I can still play offline.
After trying to connect, it says "the profile could not be connected to LIVE. "There may be a network problem or the Windows Live ID service may not be available" option on the GFWL client network status says:
NIC: Local 2 network connection
Internet IP address: not connected
Local IP address: 192.168.2.9:0
System link address: 192.168.2.9:3074
Account PC: PC.000000000000
UPnP: Not signed in
PC ID: 0X10DF99910D0A00E8
I have made the following recommended to others in similar situations, has passed all the recommended ports (TCP 53,80,443,3074) and UDP 53,88,3074, installed and running Windows fix it, Microsoft.Net 4.0 update, installed and run Winsockfix, disabled windows firewall (I have not installed any other protection software yet) compatible UPnP on my router, changed my static connection type and still no progress. My router is supported and I am in a country supported direct (UK). This my independent being, but I also experience certificate errors when you use Microsoft sites, which is strange as I said that the Web site of the company that developed the program that I use is dangerous. It's my totally finished in guys any help would REALLY be apreciated. Cheers.
I can't believe ive finally resolved, hours after validation. the button on my motherboard battery had been dislodged and my date and time have been reset in 2009, whenever I stop my PC. everything is working fine now GFWL working and no more certificate errors.

Access my account to Games for Windows - LIVE 3.0
Whenever I try to log in with my account to Games for Windows - LIVE, an error occurs. He said: I can not connect no problem first of all an account. My Xbox.com account, however, is in perfect condition (and it is comprehensive, as well). I really don't know what to do, because when I have access to the link that was suggested by the program (Games for Windows - LIVE), I always get into my page at Xbox.com, but everything goes well with my account here.
The error code is: 80154017 (and I've not found in my research to the Microsoft Web page).
I really hope that this error can be resolved as soon as possible, because most of the games I own use Games for Windows - LIVE to connect online.
My operating system is: Windows Vista Home Premium SP2 (32 bit).
Thank you.Hi Redfah,
Thanks for posting your question on the Forums of Windows Vista.
It seems that the country in which you are located is not a country supported for LIVE services.
The Games for Windows LIVE service is available only for a limited set of countries.
Unfortunately, if you are not located in one of those, you will not be able to use these services.
A full list of supported countries can be found on the given link:
http://www.Xbox.com/en-us/live/countries.htm
You can also check with the Xbox support for the updated list of countries.

Hope the information will help. Please post back and we do know.

Hi, I'm here today because I have some problems with Games for Windows Live or GFWL. I used it for many games, including Arkham asylum, in which GFWL works fine, but when I try to open GFWL in pressing home city Arkham, that nothing is happening. I have reinstalled GFWL, updated and fact all sorts of things, but nothing seems to work. All the patches? (Basically, I'm saying that even with GFWL installed, GFWL no appears in Arkham City even when I press the home button and the "LIVE" button in the game.) Thanks in advance.
the same problem I did everything that you guys were doing but nothing helped. Maybe because I have the 64-bit system. I don't know, but not of these three sites of shit help if anyone knows what to do heeeeeeeeeeeelp!

Games For Windows Live (800488EB error Code)
I have the version of GTA4 PC (bought via steam) and this game like many others use the Games for Windows Live client. The game worked fine and online (via my gamertag xbox live) for about half a year now until 2 months ago. After you download a GFWL update for their client, I was unable to connect to my account via GFWL. In game, just to say that my gamertag did not exist, which wasn't true because I could sign in here, xbox.com and Windows Live site. When I tried to connect using the GFWL market he gave me the error code 800488EB authentication failed. Can you help me please someone, I would really like to play my games again online.

Cannot connect to Games For Windows Live
I used to connect, but now I can't connect to Games for Windows Live in Resident Evil 5. Here are the steps I've tried and have failed.
- Sync would have time with internet time.
- Assigned a static IP in my router and forwarded the ports UDP 88 and TCP/UDP 3074 to this IP address.
- Give my NIC priority in the data card advanced.
- Downloaded the latest version of gfwlivesetup.exe.
- Deleted my internet cache.
- Has allowed the application of GFWLClient.exe in my Windows 7 firewall.
- I have all the criticism and non-critical Windows updates installed.
I can connect on the market very well out of the game. Here is the information on my network settings from in the game.
- Network adapter: network Local 2 connection (my Local Area Connection 1 is disabled)
- Internet IP address: Not logged
- Local IP address: 192.168.1.60:0
- The system link address: 192.168.1.60:3074
- Account PC: PC.000001A56CA8
- UPnP: Not signed in
- PC ID: 0XA7906366EECD27EE
- NAT type: open
Any help would be appreciated.

Games for Windows Live does not open
Hello. I had the Client Games for Windows LIVE and the market installed on my PC for some time now (several years). I played many games, such as Halo 2, Grand Theft Auto IV, Batman: Arkham City, etc., which require this piece of shit software. However, recently, I've been making mistakes where I can't run Arkham City in what appears to be an error related to the GFWL client. Of course, when I tried to open market Games for Windows LIVE, I see the splash screen, but after a few seconds it disappears and the program does not start. I tried to reinstall both on the market and the client, each instance of the .NET Framework and Bing Bar, but also reset Internet Explorer and run CCleaner registry cleaning, all to nothing is helping. I paid for all of these games and I'm not going to sit idly by because of a strange problem with a piece - of-* DRM software. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
I thought it would be more simple, but apparently, these errors can be caused by multiple scenarios- (You have probably tried this) Download xbox.comGFWL client, some people say that the steam of an offer is broken
- Install Windows Live ID Sign-Assistant (I'm very positive with this one)
- Check services.msc to Windows Live ID Sign-Wizard it should be in the manual
- DirectX updates could fix it (I've seen reports of which fixed for some people)
- Update your graphics card driver from the manufacturer's website (also this resolved for some)
- run sfc/scannow to elevated command prompt (last call)
Also, you can check your crash logs in %localappdata%\Microsoft\GFWLive\ I think to see if they show you something different from the error you get -
Games for windows Live does not work on the games?
Hello
I bought guerrilla red faction 2011 on steam. I did the installation of clicked cloth expected to download then when I got round to play, he said Xlive.dll is missing from you're computer re install the program can solve this problem. But anyway this isn't why I ask this question when I enter my windows live game isn't on the game I press home nothing happens so I can't save my game it says when I click on play on steam, it is said that its installation, but it does nothing please help I love this game into pieces! :(Many old games install an outdated version or GFQL.
Try to download and install the latest version of GFWL-Support stuff more GFWL.

Don't know what you're saying.
-"When enter you your game;
This would indicate that the game is installed, Yes?-"When I click on play on steam it says that his installation--
While the game may have installed does not mean that Steam will allow you to play again. Almost always fixes/updates Steam games (even solo) before it will let you play.
It is the same for the Steam Client. They tried to make updates at different times, and you have
Let him do what he wants.-"I press home nothing happens so I can't save my game it says.
You can usually save a game without logging in GFWL, but when you can't.
or do not want to access GFWL online, it will not save your progress and stats on your online GFWL
account for everyone to see.
When a game when steam is offline, you can not connect to GFWL being GFWL
a line only "Star".For more information, try medium Steam-

Games for Windows Live (GFWL) on Windows 8
Hello
I'm under 64-bit Windows 8 and we found that all games that use GFWL will not work. However, each game does something differently.-The games also running through Steam do not work either.
-For a single match, GFWL does not work when the game starts so I can't save it.
-For another game, GFWL runs, but then crashes once I try to do anything in this regard, such as sign or view my account - no error message.
I looked on the forums and have tried everything my machine GFWL wiping and reinstalling, updating my drivers video and nothing seems to work!Because if it is a Microsoft product I find it quite incredible that I have so many problems.
Thank you.
