Impossible to updte BIOS of 2.7 to 2.11 for Extensa 4630

Impossible to updte BIOS of 2.7 to 2.11 for Extensa 4630. After you run the JALA0211 exe file, system will automatically stop, but BIOS is not upgraded.

Welcome aboard, Dearsonyc. We need more information, but I'll give you a general answer.

You shouldn't spend your BIOS unless something is wrong. The BIOS is not part of the Windows operating system and cannot be fixed with the system restore. If you lock yourself in your computer, Microsoft will tell you that it is not a Windows problem, and the manufacturer will tell you that you have cancelled the guarantee. Both tell you the truth.

Eventually, it is hardware or software on your laptop which will not work with the new BIOS, and your machine rejects the BIOS.

FN + all work too, the keys (1-10).

Sandeepz, I think I have a solution; at the first start the computer, press the ESC key, then you are given the choice to change the boot order, go to the Bios Setup, etc.. Try entering BIOS through this method - I managed to get into this lane.

    Please help.

Given that HP did not respond, I kept searching for answers.

The anniversary of 10 Windows Update yesterday failed with the error:

"We could not update system reserved partition."

So I searched for the error and found this MS support document: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3086249

It seems that HP had broke the 100 MB EFI Partition (System Reserved Partition) with updates and it prevented additional updates to the partition.

I followed the instructions for Windows 7 or 8/8.1 with GPT partition and was able to update my BIOS. I will try to update Windows 10 now.

    Hello

First team Toshiba is not here in the forum user to.
Secondly it can update BIOS victory only running Windows OS-based, it would be best that the use of the Toshiba preinstalled version of Windows in order to run the BIOS update.

By the way; I found versions of BIOS Toshiba U.S. on page here, you can download the traditional BIOS which can be updated using the diskette.

The laptop has been preloaded with Win 8.1 System.

Have you changed anything in the configuration of the system?
Did you remove any Toshiba Software in the past?

Please check twice if the driver of Toshiba (to Win 8.1) system has been installed correctly!

If you have changed the system that is to say to Win 7, be sure to what Toshiba has added economic package for WIn 7 is installed!

It is very important, because both applications from Toshiba are essential to perform the update of the BIOS Toshiba

  • M30: BIOS password: never put but now ask for a password

I never put my password BIOS before on my laptop Toshiba Satellite M30.

However I changed just turn it on and the phone asks me a password.

Does anyone know why this is so?

I'm not asking how to hack - but I was wondering what the hell!

    Hello

Strange! I heard about this issue for the first time. Well, I have no answer for this question and I believe that this happens without changing everything.
But if you want to move the BIOS password, you will need to contact the service partner because only the Toshiba service partner (ASP) can remove the password.

    Good bye

  • Need old bios version 4.0 or 4.1 for Satellite P100

I tried now to update my bios on 4.2 32 bit

However, this result without DECO fan in windows.
    My good warm sound.
SpeedFan said about 100 degrees Celsius.

If someone don't know where I can download older versions of bios.
    I have a PSPA3 satellite P100-293

In the bios, the FAN is functioning normally but when windows starts the fan stops.
I tried to reinstall with XP and Vista and the problem is still there.

So I really hope someone has a url or local @ their pc file.
I tried reading the forums here and see many mistakes after the update to 4.2 either stop fan or he runs at full speed.

    Hello

Thus, as a first step: 100 degrees celsius are false. SpeedFan and another of programs like this are usually 20 to 30 degrees higher then in real-time. We checked this home with another brand of laptop with a similar problem and we he measured with special equipment.

Regarding your problem: do you have that you have installed some third-party drivers from other sites? Finally, it would be a reason why the FAN won´t burp more since the VGA drivers play a really important role concerning the whole cooling system in your machine.

Please try with the original toshiba drivers or recover your machine, maybe it helps...

    Welcome them

All you can do now is to keep checking back to see if the page has been restored.

  • EliteBook 8460p: BIOS reading the lowest possible SPD, goes for 665 instead of 800 Mhz.

    Hello!

I have improved my Elitebook 8460 to 2 x 4 GB DDR3 RAM 1600 S0DIMMS by Corsair. They work well and save things fortunately in Dual Channel Mode.

But for some reason the RAM does not work at full Spec. I've not found in my stock all parameters memory BIOS. (F.61 Rev., updated)

Strange thing, this is the timings are disabled as well. I don't really ask the cl9 here thing, but 800 mhz instead of 665 would be great.

I'll provide screen shots and I hope you can tell me whats wrong with my ram!

    Thanks in advance!

    Hello

    From the Manual:

    http://WWW8.HP.com/h20195/v2/GetPDF.aspx/c04287335.PDF

    Memory
    Standard: DDR3 SDRAM PC3-10600 (1333 MHz)
Two SODIMM slots of socket supported dual channel 2 GB, 4 GB and 8 GB SODIMM memory
    Maximum
Expandable to 16 GB with 8 GB SODIMM in slots 1 and 2
    Two-channel
Maximized dual channel performance requires SODIMM of the same size and speed in the two lots of memory.

Very simple answer: you have a fast car that takes place on a highway that is controlled by the police and forces you to use a lower speed.

    Kind regards.

  • BIOS does not detect not hard drive for laptop after the setting of the default BIOS settings.

I had my 14.04 installed Ubuntu in my laptop in a reader named «Notebook hard drive» a pre-installed Windows 8. Today I put the default BIOS settings in my phone and when I rebooted it and tried to use Ubuntu by pressing 'F9' key and choosing from the menu of the BIOS I found my 'Notbook HDD"option missing. My disk of Ubuntu is still there, but I have no way to access it. Is there a way I can get it to work?

Try turning off secure in the BIOS and then start by restarting the laptop.
