  When you run the Setup program, make sure you hold the CTRL key when you right-click on it, then click Open in the menu.
  
  Run the Setup program. Be sure to select the HP scanning software and install it. When you get to the configuration of the printer, just skip this step (unless you are using the printer in question). The parser components are what you really want from the printer drivers are already in El Capitan, if you have a HP supported printer. The scanning software will have already installed to the moment you arrive at this screen.
  
  Install the HP Easy Scan on the App Store app (if you get the latest version of the software your front-end). You should be able to run the scanner and scans without restart.   After the upgrade to El Capitan, I can't connect to all the apps to icloud.  Had errors when you first install my computer after the upgrade to the new operating system, so I opted out of it then.  I went into System Preferences, and there is no freeze that system preferences.  This also happens when I click on 'Security and privacy' and 'Parental control' (these are the only elements when I tested all components).  I tried safe restart and that did not work.  I have also tried in a guest account and have no problem in the guest account.  This account is extremely slow and freezes more than the guest account.  This is the part that I'm stuck in (I tried to go through other threads, but have no luck with their recommendations).  Here is a copy of the console messages that I get when I click on the iCloude pane in system preferences:

  First step of the author for iPhoto to Photos to Mac migration is at level iPhoto to the latest version.  The catch-22 is that 9.6.1 has disappeared from the App Store and the author says that if you have not upgraded to iPhoto to 9.6.1 before you upgrade to OS X 10.3, iPhoto won't open at all.  My research of this forum seems to confirm that others have had the experience of not being able to update iPhoto, especially if they have never bought an iPhoto update in the App Store - I did not.

  So, which seems to mean that once I go to El Capitan, I no longer able to use iPhoto.  I can make it with that, but I still need to know the best way to prepare for the upgrade to avoid problems.

  It's true.  9.6.1 iPhoto is the only version compatible with El Capitan.

  But you can't update iPhoto 8.1.2 to this version.  It is not a free update, but requires a purchase of iPhoto 11, and that is not possible any longer, because Apple has stopped selling iPhoto on the App Store.

  It would be wise to carry out all repairs - repair permissions, library, in order to ensure the iPhoto library has no problem to repair. It must be done before you upgrade the system, because it will be impossible to run iPhoto 9.8.1 after the upgrade, if you discover problems with the library.  But make a backup copy of the library, before fix it you. This way you can easily restore the original library, if repair should go wrong.

  I know that the first step is a backup.

  Where your iPhoto library that Library stored?  If it's on an external drive, move it to a disc, it's to the Mac OS extended (journaled) format. Otherwise the Migration to pictures does not work.

  Photos does not yet support lot changing like iPhoto.  If you need batch change titles to the date or the name of the file do while you still use iPhoto.

  Complete all projects book or calendar in iPhoto, because the book and calendar templates have changed and books may be different in Photos.

The good news is that you can simply delete the "install Mac OS X" install app in the Applications folder on your Mac. Then you can open the Mac App Store when you're ready to update and restart the download from the tab updates or searching through the Mac App Store for El Capitan.   I have a MacBook Pro (15 inch, early 2011) which works very well on the Mountain Lion for a long time. I finally got round to upgrading to El Capitan last week: directly to 10.11.6. A few days later he just powered down without warning while I was working. He was so very well for a few days, but then made several times in the last 48 hours.

  Spotlight and Time Machine sometimes seemed to be struggling for the upgrade, and I also saw rpcsvchost with 100% of a core for a while. The machine feels sometimes slow - but for the last 8 hours, it was very good. The only model that I put in place, is that it seems to occur only on battery; It's even happened then that the Dock (etc.) were loading after logging in after an unexpected shutdown.

  It is a late 2008 MacBook.  It's on 10.5.8.  I did a clean install of 10.6.3 with upgrades to 10.6.8 to give birth to El Capitan.  According to me, that he was working at that time.  Then, I migrated the user of a backup image of the 10.5.8 account.   Two weeks ago, that I've upgraded to El Capitan. Since then I was able to print from Adobe Acrobat or Microsoft Office programs. I use my Macbook for business purposes, and there is downtime with my work on this issue. This has nothing to do with printer drivers that I can't print to PDF either.

  I've used nothing helps Apple telephone support. I went to an Apple genius bar and they could not understand either. They have wiped my phone, and then I went home and restored the time upward from the standby machine. The problem was still there. So I uninstalled Microsoft office (last resort recommended by technician at the genius bar) and reinstalled. The problem is still there, and worse yet the Outlook is freezing. I rang a repairer of random computer company this morning specializing in Macs. They said they couldn't help me because they would only do what I've done. My Macbook Pro is just a few years, and now I'm looking down the barrel of the purchase of a new laptop - all because I upgraded to El Capitan!
