I used the fix tool, but not in the aggressive mode. I have not tried a reset because many of the reset of values seem to be for 32-bit machines.

Another version of Norton 360 (i.e., N360 2008) has already been installed on the computer?

A Norton or McAfee free trial come preinstalled on the computer when you bought it?

The FixIt and reset are the same thing. Open an instance of IE 32 bits (not IE 64-bit) for http://support.microsoft.com/kb/971058, click the FixIt icon and choose Aggressive mode this time. Since there is a corruption with the packages on your system (shown in the papers above), it can be advantageous to try to run CheckSUR to automatically repair packages. • The window Vista, SP2 'Impossible to check updates' error 800F080D

I tried all the suggestions on this forum, as well as what I can find online, without a solution.  I use Panda Security, however, I uninstalled it and the problem remains.   I have tried the repair on the original CD, ran Fixit and a number of other solutions.  I just reformat the drive and start over, but don't have my original CD for MS Office and cannot afford to lose.  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Windows Vista Business

    SP2

As I tried to reset the software update I lost the history of updates are on this machine.  The last update 01/02/2013.  So this should give an idea where is the operating system.

I ran sfc/scannow as stated in my previous post and found a file, he could not set:

As the job file and the source are corrupt, where can I get a version uncorrupted "autochk.exe" and how do I go about replacing it?

    Under Vista SP2 Professional.

  • Impossible to JRE update - error 1603

I have a PC of Windows 8.1 who had 7 JRE installed on it. I tried to update the latest version 8, but it failed with error 1603. I removed the JRE 7, rebooted and tried to install 8, latest version. error 1603 again. I went to the JRE archives and began with 8, no version of the U. That installed fine, I then installed 8U5 and which has installed fine. Then I installed 8U11 and which has installed fine. But any higher than 11 construction will simply not installed, it gives me 1603.

Another strange thing is that during installation, the window "Close programs" appears, but there are no programs listed in the window. I click Close programs and continue but it fails with 1603.

What happens here and how get the latest version installed? I have read discussions on Win7 and Win8 Installer errors due to some updates being installed. These updates are not installed on this PC. So I'm puzzled as to why install 8U11 but nothing more recent. Any ideas out there?

    Thank you

    Jonathan

I tried again yesterday install the latest JRE and this time it went through fine. He told me there was a version more old and has a button to uninstall to remove what I did and then it installed JRE U45. I do not understand why I had all the trouble that I did the other day, but it has now supported.

My son iphone4s does not update why is this

I guess it's because it is updated. The latest iOS for the iPhone's iOS 9.3.5. May not support iOS 10. If it's an iPhone 4, then the last iOS is 7.1.2.

Since last week (20.2.2016), I can not install applications or check the updates on my iPhone 6. I got iOS 9.2

    I've tried everything

    -hard reset

-update to 9.2.1 using iTunes (also updated iTunes to latest version)

-Connected to my Apple account and

    -Reset network settings

-Reset to factory settings (including clear my iPhone)

But nothing helps! I still can't install/update apps from the AppStore, or control upgrade (to message: "unable to check for updates")

    * go to services and stop the Windows Update Service

    * locate C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\folder & remove all it's content (if you have step 1 any content does not correctly as they will be in use by another program)

    Hi Sheikh R,.

You seem to have two software antivirus/firewall in real-time installed, Norton and Avira which can cause stability problems.

Can you uninstall Norton and Avira and see if that helps.

For security software consider using just firewall and antivirus integrated Windows 8 (Windows Defender).

I would also uninstall the c:\windows\system32\drivers\sptd.sys pilot who has been known to cause blue screen errors in some configurations.

Uninstall the application that has installed the driver c:\windows\system32\drivers\sptd.sys, maybe it's Daemon Tools or Alcohol 120%.

Then, uninstall the c:\windows\system32\drivers\sptd.sys - see "How can I remove driver SPTD on 64-bit operating system?" in the following link:
