Improve the 5 GHz range

I was on the phone with cable Support TimeWarner during these days, trying to get the speed I pay for, the speed at which we found on the desktop computer that is connected to the router EA8500 has a download speed of speed 117.14Mbps and download the 11.88Mbps, as I said I want to improve the 5 GHz on my wireless settings. This is what I got the WPA2/WPA mixed personal/broadcast SSID Yes / mixed network Mode / Auto channel and the channel width is automatic.

Thank you

Depending on the answer, I wonder if the router is configured with the same ssid for 2.4 and 5 ghz? If so, you probably want to change that. Just add a 5 at the end of the name of 5 GHz. This way you'll always know to which group you are connected to. I read problems caused by the use of the same name on both. He seems to confuse the devices that are connected to the router and that may affect the speed of the connection.

    You are the very welcome.

That is right.  No 'a' doesn't = No 5 GHz.

I can't explain why you thought you saw other 5 GHz networks on your PC.

The only wireless networks that should be visible on your PC are only in the 2.4 GHz band, because it's all Ralink card in your model can see.

You might be able to replace the card with a wireless card dual band but I can't say for sure.  Some PC have a BIOS lock that prevents users from installing a different wireless card.

You would have to make sure your PC has two antennas connected to the current Ralink wireless card because all dual-band cards have at least two terminals of the antenna to connect to.

I would say the best thing you can do would be to go to your local office supply store and pick up a wireless network adapter dual band USB external.

They now power USB wireless adapters, so you can get one of these.

You wouldn't have any compatibility or hardware issues with an external USB card and not worry about BIOS locks or the number of antennas inside your PC.

The 5 GHz range depends on the WLan card that is built into the laptop.
    WiFi standard 802. 11 B and G supports 2.4 Ghz
The WLAN standard 802. 11A supports 5 GHz
The WLAN standard 802.11 N supports 2.4 Ghz and 5 GHz

But if the Wlan card would not support 802.11 has then 802.11 N standard would go only to 2.4 Ghz

Optics: it is quite a narrow profile. Is there a possibility of change in a broad vision.

Unfortunately, there is no upgrade to improve the sensitivity to light.

But I must say that it is not a question of camcorder I put t know camcorders how much you had in the past or if you have experience in the use of these camcorders but fact is that all of the camcorders in this price range would produce excellent images in a bright environment. But you'll notice a kind of noise in dark rooms or the environment.

If you want to get better picture in theaters, then you need to buy camcorders in the range of price superior > $700, but you still won't get the same quality as using the camcorder in a bright environment. So I don't know if the rise in prices would be furious if you do not use these cameras for profesional use...

  • Understand and improve the absolute accuracy

Many sculptures absolute accuracy calculated the computation of absolute precision in the manuals of the user for the use of modules in series C the following entries:

    • TempChangeFromLastExternalCal = 70 * C

    • TempChangeFromLastInternalCal = 1 * C

    • Sigma/Std-dev = 3

    • # of samples = 100

I have a few questions about these two values listed above TempChange

    1. Why such a low value of only 1 has the TempChangeFromLastInternalCal * C; modules are continually doing internal calibration automatically?

    2. Regarding TempChangeFromLastExternalCal, I read correctly that NEITHER is the calculation of accuracy, assuming that the material has seen a +/-70 * C delta temperature since the last time it was calibrated externally. that is calibrated to 25 * C, but runs at 95 * C?

To improve the absolute accuracy, I'm curious to know if the following two statements would improve accuracy:

    1. The material exists in an environment temperature controlled with a + / delta 10 * C ambient temperature. Can I use the value of 10 for TempChangeFromLastExternalCal if it has been calibrated at room temperature outside?

    2. If I'm short so HAVE them + HAVE terminals and a channel not used by COM and the extent to which results can be subratcted of readings of all other channels, I essentially elimited the error of the formula of absolute precision shifting?

For completeness, for absolute accuracy formulas are:

    Absolute accuracy = ± (VoltageReading * GainError + VoltageRange * OffsetError + NoiseUncertainity)
    GainError = ResidualAIGainError + GainTempco * TempChangeFromLastInternalCal + ReferenceTempco * TempChangeFromLastExternalCal
    OffsetError = ResidualAIOffsetError + OffsetTempco * TempChangeFromLastInternalCal + INL_Error
NoiseUncertainity = (RandomNoise * sigma) /(# of samples)

    Hey Sean,

Change in temperature refers to the temperature difference from the last time that you did these two calibrations and the current temperature unit. So if you did an internal and external calibration at 25 ° C, then you will find the difference between the current temperature and 25 ° C. This is valid for two years for external calibration (according to the data sheet) to answer your questions:

    (1) If you both internal as external calibrated at 25 ° c, and then assign TempChange 1 ° C if the environment is in a summer of 24 or 26 ° C.

    (2) if the room was 10 ° C when the measurement has been taken, both internal and external TempChanges is 15 ° C (because your calibration conducted at 25 ° C).

    (3) If you were doing an internal calibration at 10 ° C, then your internal TempChange would be 0 ° C and your external would be 15 ° C.

Regarding tips, I do not have too. The best I can suggest is to use a lower range and a device that has a lower production, but I don't think that it would be viable for your application. The best try of course is calibrated as close as possible to the more uniform temperature.

I found a VI that calculates the absolute accuracy of a device. Must be a lot of values, but it allows you to play with the values to see what you can afford. My calculations show you in your range, but be absolutely sure of these fluctuations.

    https://decibel.NI.com/content/docs/doc-9912

Attached a photo of the values that I used to get this error. I'm sure that the devices are calibrated at 23 ° C. Here's the manual where I found the numbers that I used.

Sorry for the confusion earlier, I hope that this post clears up a lot of information and if it's not please let me know.

  • East - the Pavilion 20 it be upgraded to the 5 GHz wireless card?

The HP Pavilion 20 can be improved to support the 5 GHz wireless card?

HP Pavilion 20-b010 all-in-One desktop computer
    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c03524659

This computer has an integrated Ralink RT-5390 mini-map PCIe wireless.
    http://www.MediaTek.com/en/products/connectivity/WiFi/PC/PCIe/rt5390/
This card is the only ONE BAND (2.4 GHz), supporting IEEE 802. 11 b, g and n

IF you wish for the 5 GHz band,
THEN BOTH devices must support the new IEEE 802.11ac Standard Dual-Band.

FIRST, a wireless (WAP) access port or Wireless Router on your home network must be Dual-Band (IEEE 802.11ac).

IF this equipment is provided (for rent) your provider of wireless Internet (ISP).
THEN, you will need to work with them for this upgrade (may have fees $$).
IF you have your wireless router, THEN it must support IEEE 802.11ac for the 5 GHz band.

SECONDLY, your HP Pavilion 20-b010 all-in-One will require a new (replacement) wireless card and MAY require the replacement of the antenna (dual-band).

The AC-7260 Intel Dual-Band with Bluetooth 4.0 is a topic highly IEEE 802.11ac compliant PCIe minicards.
IF you only had previously not supported Bluetooth, THEN this additional feature is a BONUS.

  • How to improve the rendering time on MacBook Air

    Hi all

Any ideas how to improve the rendering performance of a YouTube video that I created. I realize that the rendering is not ideal on a MacBook Air, however, there are free of RAM and CPU capacity according to the directives of the screenshot:

    Adobe Media Encoder v2.png

For example, I put that he should leave 1.5 GB of RAM for other programs, but there are still 3 GB free.

(FYI at 01:24 popped it up to 100% of the CPU)

    Any help much appreciated.

  • Plug-in to improve the audio of Smart Phone video?

Are there plug-ins to help improve the quality of audio from the videos a little smart phone? Needing a reduction in thrust and the self-noise of the microphone on the phone at low prices.

    Thank you

There is no single application to "fix a cell phone" because there may be many different problems according to your terms and conditions.  Like any record, you can use the normal hearing range effects - noise reduction, maybe some EQ to help with the sound of together and so on.

However, I must say that the usual problem with Audio from a cell phone video is simply that the microphone is too far from the source.  Professional videos using a mixture of microphones of shotgun on fish poles or a clip on lavaliers to get as close as possible to the sound source.  The bad news is: once you have saved of too far in a bad acoustic environment, there is almost nothing you can do to make a significant improvement.

  • New user - need tips to improve the performance and graphics ability

    Hello

I am a new user.  I loaded Windows 7 64-bit today, and it seems to work fine. (I used only Explorer.) I downloaded by Reallusion CrazyTalk and software is lagging terribly, and the image is blurry. The Forum of CrazyTalk, they recommend updating graphics drivers to fix blurry images. On the NVIDIA site, when I asked her to automatically detect the driver update, it says none is available for my computer (my Mac).

Question: They have updates driver for Windows... When I am running Windows via Fusion, should I different graphics drivers than those on my Mac?  If so, means that I need another graphics card?  * Of course I'm not super technical. **

I have attached a screenshot of my info/display of charts:

In addition, molten, I increased the RAM to 3 GB (3000 MB), but it has not improved the situation.

CrazyTalk allows the user to make a photo 'talk '... It is lively and contains the audio.  I usually save files as uncompressed reviews that are about 4 GB in size (when I worked directly on a PC) but today to test it's obviously "too much" for this system.  (It would have probably been about 2 GB). So I recorded a MP4 (3.7 MB), which has always been a time loooooooong to save - 30 minutes.

    Other info:

    Model name: iMac

    Model ID: iMac9, 1

Processor name: Intel Core 2 Duo

    Memory: 4 GB

    Bus speed: 1.07 GHz

    Boot ROM version: IM91.008D.B08

    Welcome to the Fusion community.

Question: They have updates driver for Windows... When I am running Windows via Fusion, should I different graphics drivers than those on my Mac?  If so, means that I need another graphics card?

Your don't need another graphics card.  By necessity, VMware can pass through native graphics of your iMac to any guest including Windows operating system.  VMware provides its own graphic adapter of substitute (WDDM 3D) or VMware SVA II, with its own pilots.  Apple takes care to provide you with the latest drivers for OS X, you will never have to download all the drivers directly from the graphics vendors.  Details about the virtual hardware and its differences of capacity are covered in the FAQs on VMware Fusion

Regarding the VMware graphics drivers who are in the VMware tools and are supported if you have installed Windows 7 using Windows Easy install feature in the new computer Wizard.  If you do not use Windows Easy Install (or don't remember), the icon of blue squares of VMware in the system tray is a Visual indicator, they are installed.  But you can confirm the video adapter by using the Control Panel, search for display > change display settings > advanced settings to look at your graphics card.  For Win7, the default value is VMware SVGA 3D.

Whenever you want to refresh the VMware drivers you can select Virtual Machine > install VMware Tools to install or run the option repair after the Welcome screen.

In addition, molten, I increased the RAM to 3 GB (3000 MB), but it has not improved the situation.

Based on the requirements of CrazyTalk6 system I could find, you do not need to allocate as much RAM (3 GB).  Depending on your other needs Windows 7, 1 GB to 2 GB would be better, based on your host, the RAM size.

Pentium IV 2 GHz or higher recommended

512 MB of RAM or more recommended

1 GB space drive or higher recommended

    Duplex Sound Card/VGA Card/keyboard/mouse/Microphone/Speaker

    Display resolution: 1024 x 768 or higher

Video memory: 128 MB RAM or higher recommended

    Windows 7 / Vista / XP SP2

Internet Explorer 6 or higher, Firefox 2 or higher

DirectX 9 and WMEncoder 9 are required to export WMV

    Recommended hardware:

CPU dual core or higher recommended

1 GB of RAM or more recommended

Hard drive 2 GB or more recommended

Video memory: 256 MB RAM or higher recommended

    Things to try:

The 3D Aero interface may impose the virtual graphic adapter, then you could try to disable that by getting the properties of the desktop background, choose Customize and change the theme of Windows 7 Basic.

More radically, you can stop the virtual machine and disable 3D graphics in the VM > settings > display > uncheck "Accelerate 3D graphics."  This will cause Windows 7 use the legacy VMware SVGA II adapter.  The oldest non - 3D adapter looks like it meets the system requirements but requiring DirectX 9 encoding for WMV exporting.   If you save without video compression, that may be OK.  If the non - 3D adapter does not meet requirements, I am sure that the program will display.

  • Diagnose/improve the wireless Airport network

I'm no expert on wifi networks, but try to improve ours.

I have an Airport Extreme, connected to a modem of the Charter down.

Upstairs, in my office, that I have an Airport Express with a printer connected via USB.

I think I Express correctly configured to expand or develop, or whether the network.

My MB Air is sitting on a desk about 7 feet to Express in my office.

If I connect to the Express via Ethernet to the MB Air USB connector, my download speed is about 65 MB/s, download about 4 MB/s and the Ping on 31ms.

If I connect via wifi, download is about 20 Mb/s and the stay of the upload and the same ping.

    Make sense?

    Anything to improve the wifi?

When websites take a long time to react and fill the page, what is the download or ping, or both?

Thanks in advance for all the education on wifi. Enjoy.

    Make sense?

Makes perfect sense.  First, we assume that the Express extends the network by connecting using wireless back to AirPort Extreme, correct?

When you "extend" with only a wireless connection and connect using wireless on your Mac, you will generally lose about half or more the speed on the network.

Why? The wireless should make a "leap" in Airport Extreme for the AirPort Express. He must then make a second "hop" of the AirPort Express using Mac wireless. It will take a lot of overhead or bandwidth.

When your Mac is connected directly to the AirPort Express Terminal, the wireless is only to make a "leap", so find you speed or bandwidth that is lost when the Mac connects to the Express on a second Wireless 'hop '.

You want to improve your network?  Connect terminal AirPort Express to the AirPort Extreme, using a wired Ethernet cable connection.  There is no loss of speed of the signal through the cable... until approximately 325 feet or 100 meters... so the Express receives a signal of full speed... rather than a slower wireless signal... because the wireless signal slows the other he has to travel and also slows down if it encounters obstructions in the signal path... like a wall or a ceiling.

When websites take a long time to react and fill the page, what is the download or ping, or both?

Could be both, but is usually a DNS problem. Try to use the Open DNS servers or the servers of Google to see if things improve. In general, the DNS servers are better than those that use your Internet service provider.

  • Improve the speed of the wifi at the bottom

I have an Apple AirPort Extreme in my office upstairs. I get 200 Mbps wireless download in my office. A flight down, almost directly below my router, I have only 30-40 MB/s download. What is the best way to increase my download speed?

You can download the app on your iPad AirPort Utility and the WiFi scanner allows to check the signal strength of your network and all competitors.

You could do better if you have set up separate systems 2.4 and 5 GHz, and connected to the 5 GHz for 802.11ac performance, assuming that your device can support. What are we talking about here?

  • Are there external speakers for iPad mini to improve the sound?

Are there external speakers for the new iPad mini to improve the sound?

There are hundreds. For most Bluetooth, so they're wireless. Simply do a search, starting with those on the Apple Store.

  • Change of modem can improve the speed of Airport Express Extender?

My router is a Airport Extreme 6th Gen.

When Wi - Fi and close this Airport Extreme base station, I get average speeds of:

117 Mbps down and > 11 Mbps upward

At the opposite end of the House, I use a wireless extension: Airport Express 1 St gen - model A1264 (MB32 1LL/A)

Here, the download speed goes up to 14mbps

Download speed rest > 11 Mbps

My ISP will not have my current cable modem: 6580 Motorola (jumpered to disable router) to provide speeds greater than 100/10 (though even I can actually slightly higher than average, I have indicate above).

If I replaced the modem with my ISP (Time Warner Cable) provisions for 200/20Mbps (speeds I pay in fact) - and * if * I got then that 100 Mbps speed increase (wireless) when close to my Airport Extreme base station (and I think I'll) - should I then expect to see a significant speed increase at the opposite end of the House , where I rely on the Airport Express wireless extension?

In other words, is expected to double the speed of my modem now gives me wireless (when you're on my Apple Extreme base station) also be reflected in an increase in speed at the end of the House where I must rely on the Express Extender 1 generation and where I am now only download speeds see 14Mbps?

    BTW:

    1. I can not move my extreme or my Express.  They both must stay exactly where they are. Neither can they cannot be permanently interconnected via ethernet cable.

    2. I don't think the speed reduction I describe is a bandwidth issue because I am the only one on the network and do not have multiple downloads on several devices at the same time.

Before I ring $$$ on a modem that won't improve my speed, you will appreciate any guidance I where I need more.

Change of modem can improve the speed of AirPort Express Extender?

Just a little, at best. The Express pourrait spend 25-30 Mbps. No guarantee, with strangeness wireless... it is maybe the same or worse based on my experiences.

If you need more speed at the end of the House... the AirPort Express must be located to half way between the AirPort Extreme and the end of the House. Ideally, he would have line-of-sight with AirPort Extreme.

Yet, you say that you can not move the Express or the extreme and can't get the Ethernet cable. Have you considered or tried Powerline Ethernet adapters?

  • Satellite Pro C870 can run on the 5 GHz band?

My laptop model Toshiba Satellite Pro C870 1E2 can run on the band 5 GHz with Windows 7 Pro 64 bit. Tried to ask this question to Toshiba, but it seems to be a technical problem it so impossible to transmit my question for them.

    Hello

The frequency of Wlan depending on the WLan card.
I think that the laptop was equipped with WLan RTL8723AE Realtek card that supports the 802.11 standard B / G / N standard

5 GHz is only available using 802.11 A or N

802.11 N standard works on 2.4 Ghz and 5 GHz but 5 GHz is available ONLY if the WLan card would support additional one 802.11 standard; That is to say 802.11 A / N.

But Realtek RTL8723AE doesn t support 802.11 has and therefore the 5 GHz are not possible for this WLan module.
