In my Windows Mail, I hear the sound advising me that an e-mail has arrived, but then it is not.

I get most of my emails, but the situation described above happens a bit now. It seems this would be a problem easily solved.
I changed the frequency of searches of new emails from 30 minutes to 3 min., but that did not solve it. My junk e-mail filter is set to low as always, but earlier, I changed the security zone to the Internet Zone instead of the restricted area. Probably has nothing to do with it, but...

If you change the area restricted to the Internet zone, and then you enable scripts and other characteristics of e-mails that have nothing to do with your problem.  Also, in the short time between the audit can generate problems.  Try to compact and repair the database of WinMail (www.oehelp.com/WMUTil/ ).  Make sure that you have configured in sight. Current view | Show all messages.  Then, when an e-mail arrives and you get sound notification, then check the Inbox, then the junk mail folder and the deleted items folder to see if, in fact, a message came through.   You can also enable a log file check issues via Tools | Options | Maintenance | Advanced.

    I have Windows Media Player version 12 installed but when you try to play .mp4 files in WMP, I hear the sound but the picture is distorted and I can't see the picture.  Please see image attached.

    Even if I see that I can change the version of the file in a different format, I have the same problem with videos on websites that I can not of course change the format before playing these.

    I managed to fix the problem for about 20 minutes by flattening my computer re - install the operating system and this resolved until all updates have been through, and then it disappeared again.  I tried many codecs packs and this still does not help.

    My system is running Windows 7 and Media Player version is 12.0.7601.18840, which tells me that Media Player is the most recent version.

    Please can someone help?

    Open uninstall a program in windows and in the left click on the feature to turn on or off windows. Clear the check box of the window Media Player, and then click ok. This will uninstall the drive, and then restart.

    After restarting the same steps, now, check the box for the same and perform a restart and if all goes well it should solve the problem.

    Note: Make sure that Windows is up-to-date.

    Solution A: For sound program on your computer.

    Method 1

    You can follow the steps listed below:

    a. right click on the volume icon in the notification area.

    b. go to the playback device and right click on the empty area.

    c. Select Show disabled devices and Show disconnected devices.

    d. right-click on the pregnant , select Activate and go to the Properties.

    e. use of the device select use this device (enabled)

    f. click apply and OK.

    Make sure that the Windows Audio service is started.

    Have you tried to uninstall the audio driver in Device Manager?

    Start > right click on computer

    Select manage

    Select Device Manager

    Click on the + next to sound, video and game controllers

    Right-click on the driver and select uninstall

    Close the Device Manager

    Restart the computer

    1. open the Device Manager and right click on Realtek High Definition Audio.

    2 Select this option to "Update driver software".

    3. click on "Browse my computer for driver software".

    4. click on "Let Me pick from a list of drivers on my computer".

    5. put the "Show compatible hardware" check box if not already checked.

    6. in the list of devices, click on 'High Definition Audio'.

    7, click on "next".

    8. in the update driver warning box, click 'Yes' (the driver).

    Install the native driver. Immediately test the headphones/speakers.

    If the list of drivers to step 6 do not include "High Definition Audio" then please use the Windows system restore. It is quite safe to use because if you don't like the results, you can undo the restore operation.
