  It started when the links in my Windows Mail messages stopped working. I received an "Application not found" error when I clicked on a link in an e-mail. I went online to find an answer and told everything to use the list of default programs. But IE is not on it and I cannot Explorer to display in the list, no matter what I do. It is, however, listed as my browser program by default when I go to IE tools > Internet Options > programs.

  At the same time links Windows Mail has stopped working, IE icon disappeared from my office. However, I was able to restore, and that seems to work very well, like the Explorer himself. I tried to reset the default settings of IE using tools > Internet OPtions (although that I changed the personal settings), but that does not make the difference.

  Also, it seems that the 2nd IE icon (which looks like a small page, rather than the usual 'e' with halo) on my bar launch and in my programs. When I click on that, I get a message saying "Windows searches for IExplore.exe. To locate the file yourself,... "And then it says the shortcut has been changed or moved. This would be part of the problem?

  You have whatever it be listed in your programs by default, or is it completely empty?
  If there is nothing listed, you can view the link here which has a solution that helped some people.

  If you don't have some programs listed in default programs, then that would probably not help.
  Have you tried doing a SFC/scannow?

  Try the following steps:

  First of all, we run System File Checker to see if you have a corrupt file system.

  Click Start

  Click on all programs

  Click Accessories, and then right-click on the command prompt.

  Select the Security tab and choose "Run as Administrator"

  Click on command prompt

  Type SFC/scannow.

  It will scan and repair any damaged operating system files.

• Addition of default programs to assign file types.

  For some reason, I can't designate Acrobat as default program for .pdf files.  When I try to do, Acrobat is not yet in the list of programs that may be affected.  When I use Browse to display the Acrobat program on my drive, and then click Open, the program is not added to the list and the default program for pdf files is not changed in Acrobat.

  To be included the program in Set Program Access and Computer Defaults, programs must be registered in the Windows registry. In General, the programs themselves register during installation.
   
  If your program does not appear in the list, it has not been registered and cannot be set as the default program using Set Program Access and computer defaults. Help with this program, contact the manufacturer of the program.

  You can try your idea as an experimental, if you don't do that you export .jpg any key for simple restoration (import) in the registry.  Or create a restore point from the system to use.  Don't forget that my machine isn't your machine, so he could have probably NOT the goal in all cases.

  Have a look at the default programs in Control Panel.  Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Default Programs\Set default programs.

  See which by default is actually set to "Windows Photo Viewer.  Click on the words "Windows Photo Viewer", then "choose default program".   Whatever file types you set as the default value for "Windows Photo Viewer" should give you the option to preview "BOLD" as the first and default option on right click for this particular file type.

  Then, you should probably use the Edit option to open a file for editing if you wanted to not just previsualisez?

  • Open Adobe Bridge CS4.
  • Go to Preferences - file types Association dialog box.
  • Click on the [ reset to default Associations].
