In the control panel missing folder options
After you have reinstalled Windows 7 x 64 system recovery, I went to control panel to set up single click. Initially the Folder Options icon was available and I put in place. Then I added a new user and noticed that the icon was not available in the new desktop Panel. It has also disappeared from the control panel of the original user. What is that all about, and how do I access Folder Options. I went to help and support from the Start button and entered in Folder Options - he sent me to a help page which included a link "Click here to access Folder Options." When I clicked on that link, there is no answer. Any suggestions?
Hello
Good to hear it's Ok and I hope that all of the malware has been removed.
All the best,

the touchpad tab is missing from the control panel can be restored on vostor 1700 running xp
To turn off the touchpad on my laptop Dell Vostro 1700 under XP, but the touchpad tab is missing when I opened the control panel mouse icon
http://www.Dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/19/driverdetails?DriverID=XV8FK
This is your driver for the touchpad, it should be located in the dell folder, do a search on your pc for
R165804.exe
and check that you have the folder options to show hidden files and not to hide system files.
Normally, it showed as icon in the control panel?

original title: missing file
Miss me the windows system32 rundll32.exe. I can't access the Add/Remove in the control panel.
I tried to start - run with my c/d operating system
I checked for viruses
I purchase software to remove etc and REG files.
Now that the devil do?
Thank you
If this
I tried to start - run with my c/d operating system
means that you have tried to use sfc/scannow from start > run, your experience is not surprising. This 'solution' is often suggested by people who don't really understand what this command does. It does not help to restore a missing rundll32.exe file.
For what is
I checked for viruses
What is the name and version of your anti-virus application? When (approximately) their subscription expires? What other antimalware applications installed? What other antimalware applications you used recently to scan your computer?
If you have not yet used the "software to remove the REG files and etc." return for refund or throw it out. "Registry cleaners", 'tuners', etc. are not useful. If you used to "clean" the registry, use its "undo" feature (if it has one) to restore the registry. Longtime MS MVP PA Bear:
TIP: If you still think again your registry database must be cleaned, repaired, amplified, to the point, healed, twisted, fixed, enlarged, "swept" or optimized (it isn't), read http://aumha.net/viewtopic.php?t=28099 and draw your own conclusions. See also http://blogs.technet.com/markrussinovich/archive/2005/10/02/registry-junk-a-windows-fact-of-life.aspx
What probably happened is that your antivirus application deleted or quarantined in your file rundll32.exe thinking he was infected. He could have, but probably not. In any case, read the post that begins, "That 'solution' is not on my list." in the following thread: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_xp-performance/systemrundllexe-not-found/6e30aff2-a88e-4d86-a654-753d54f632d1 you can also read the rest of the posts in this thread.
Note that c:\windows\system32\dllcache is a hidden folder, but you who type in the address bar of Windows Explorer (or copy and paste), the folder should open anyway.
Assuming you manage to restore rundll32.exe, download, install, update and run full scans (not at the same time) with each of the following free tools.

Power options in the control panel are empty - can't do anything.
Recently, I noticed that the Power Options in the control panel is empty. I can't create something or do something there. Could something in Services.msc have disabled this? Nowhere part that I should look at? I cannot stop, restart, or put it to sleep. Also when I start the computer (once using the hardware Reset button on the computer case) he does not remember my user name. He asks me every time. There is no password. I just press ENTER after entering my user name.
So I found the magic formula to use the command run and it resets everything back to normal. Can't find it now but if you google it you can find. You want to reset the Power Options in the control panel.
His time, I have contributed something here! I'm always ask questions and rarely give all the answers. :)

"Options files" disappear from the control panel.
My PC has been infected by a virus. I've updated my antivirus, scanned the whole system and remove found viruses, but 'Options records' disappeared from the control panel. When I turn on the PC, a message appears saying that "Windows cannot find «scvhost.exe"»
I'd appreciate any help.
Thanks in advance. The computer is still not clean or the malware did too much damage to the operating system. First of all, make sure that the computer is really clean looking at these removal steps:

If you were this meticulous, you are ready to move to the next step. If you were not this thorough, do the work and maybe the problem will be solved.
If the computer is really clean, you can try a repair installation. If the repair installation does not work, back up your data and do a clean install of Windows.

Windows restarts when I select the option to remove the program from the Control Panel files
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit installed. System of the down stops and restarts whenever I select the option to remove programs from the control panel. First of all, the problem occurred when I upgraded the version of iTunes. Restoration has solved the problem. Same thing happened when I upgraded my version of PowerDVD. Restored again to solve the problem. Just installed Office 2010 and the problem came back. I don't seem to be able to install software without this problem. Any help gratefully received.
Hi Rugger,
Welcome to the community Microsoft and thanks for posting the question.
This issue could be happen if system files have been corrupted or any third party application conflicts.
I would suggest trying the following methods and check if it helps.
Method 1:
I suggest you perform a SFC Scan and check if it helps.
Steps to perform a scan SFC:
a. click Start, click principally made programs, Accessories, and open the command prompt.
b. type the following command and press ENTER:
sfc/scannow
[The command sfc /scannow. analysis of all protected system files and replaces incorrect versions with appropriate Microsoft versions.]
Once the scan is finished, close the command prompt window, restart the computer and check.
Reference: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929833
Method 2:
I suggest you perform a clean boot and check if it helps.
Clean boot will check if any third-party application is causing the problem, as the clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.
How to solve the problem by running the clean boot in Windows 7: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135
Note: once you have completed troubleshooting, perform the steps in the step 3: to reset the computer as usual.
If you need Windows guru, do not hesitate to post your questions and we will be happy to help you.
