  It should be check-high water of the collection table. Like any other table, the FTS query performance can suffer if you did climb the route HWM by inserting a large amount of data, then by removing most. Retrieve the contents of the collection could involve some TSPS. In my case, truncate table collection to shrink the HWM back to a size approproiate srestored over my performance. Since you have a large number of separate sessions, FTS can be less likely.

  I use collections in the reports of the results of "cache" of complex queries slow on db links. Paging through result against the collection sets can be much more reactive that repeat the same full query via a db connection. Inserting query result sets very important collections can push up the WHM.
