In Windows 7 Windows Explorer shows do not all drives, folders and files?
I have windows 7. In older versions, Explorer windows would list all drives, folders and files. It makes it easy to move, copy, create folders. Is it possible to get mine to do the same thing?
Click on the Start button and then on the images in the list on the start menu, top left is organize, click on this list, then click on folder and search options, go to the view tab section, search for and click Show hidden folders files and readers, click apply and OK.

Easy transfer Windows spilled all my folders and files in the C: OS drive.
I don't know if I've done something right or if it is a real problem. I used my wired network and Windows Easy Transfer to transfer files and folders of old readers logics partioned 5 XP to my new family Win 7 Premium 64 bit, also with a hard drive partitioned. Transfer all the folders and files placed in the new Win 7 C: OS drive. What a nightmare! I had to return the computer to factory settings (out of the box) and all over again.
I should have been smarter. After all, how a stupid machine knowledge where to put each logical drives and folders without receiving instructions. But then it should have been a warning that the machine is not do miracles.
Caution: do not use Windows Easy Transfer if you have a partitioned hard drive.

2 operating systems: Windows XP and Windows 7
Windows 7 is to make all the folders and files on another partition (Windows XP) read-only!
Once, I opened a file from "My Documents" from XP in Windows 7.
But when I Wen back to Windows XP.
But while starting up, I got a lot of error messages:
Access denied!
When I am gone to Windows 7 yet once I noticed that all records on the other partition where unalterable.
But after I tried to void that lookt again to see if she had cancelled it.
But he remains unalterable reports!
I have lookt on Google and Bing, but could not find someone with the same problem!
Now it works!
I used these 10 steps to solve the problem!
10 STEPS TO GET FULL CONTROL ON a FILE / FOLDER / PARTITION (Microsoft Windows Xp):
1. press F8
2. select Safe Mode
3. log in with an administrator account
3. go into the properties of the folder / partition / file that you cannot access
4. Select security and then advanced
5. in 'owners' define yourself as an owner (if it is not defined)
6. click on 'Ok '.
7 configure yourself: make sure you clickt on the box "Total control" (allow)
8. click 'OK' and then 'apply '.
9 reboot
10. the test (if it still does not, try again a few times)

And then it worked!

Right click mouse to drag and drop or rename folders and files does not work
For a few weeks now, I had problems with the right click function to drag - move files and folders, or rename files and folders. This happens when I use windows Explorer or access to the computer and click thruogh for a feature. He can't go to all the folders and files, but many. I can't right click on these folders or files to change the sharing because explore closes and restarts on the desktop with a right-click. Manifest error "appcrash" reason. I have Norton Security suite installed and neither Norton or your fix program detects a problem.
Please notify.
awehnert
Have you installed or removed/uninstalled all hardware or software or drivers since just before the start of this problem (if so, exactly what - name, version, device, whatever)? Norton take any infection, although it is said that he cleaned their since just before the problem started? If so, you know the names of these infections?
Do you know when this problem started? Try a system restore to a point in time BEFORE the problem started. Here is the procedure: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/using-windows-vista-system-restore/. Don't forget to check the box to show more than 5 days of restore points. If the first attempt fails, then try an earlier point or two. NOTE: You will need to re - install any software and updates that you have installed between now and the restore point, but you can use Windows Update for updates. It's been a while so I'm not sure that you have a fairly old restore point but it is possible - hopefully.
Are these files and folders in your user profile? If Yes, your user profile may become corrupted (in fact, if can still be corrupted if the folders are not there). To fix this use http://windows.microsoft.com/en-AU/windows-vista/Fix-a-corrupted-user-profile. If that is the only available Administrator Profile (you need to be an administrator to fix this), enable the Hidden Administrator Account (HAA) using http://www.microsoft.com/communities/newsgroups/en-us/default.aspx?&lang=en&cr=US&guid=&sloc=en-us&dg=microsoft.public.windows.vista.administration_accounts_passwords&p=1&tid=d20f9db4-7b2c-48be-a087-7835dc2a9055&mid=d20f9db4-7b2c-48be-a087-7835dc2a9055. If you don't remember the password, try nothing because that's probably what you (or seller) did during the installation. Once that is done, don't forget to disable the HAA to save it in case it is necessary once again and for safety reasons (since people often try to hack into systems using this account). Do NOT use the HAA as your administrator account because if you lose the only administrator on the system account or it is damaged again, then you're watered.
We will check some of your system files and hard drive for ccorruption that may be the cause:
Go to start / all programs / accessories / command prompt and right click on command prompt, and then click Run as administrator.
Type sfc/scannow, go and let it run. It will scan and try to correct some of your system files. If all goes well he comes complete with no corruption, it could not repair (if it has these post of corruption here or try to analyze it to find the problem or files using http://support.microsoft.com/kb/928228. Try to put all the corrupt files here so that we can see if they can be repaired with good copies of the installation disc (unless there are too many).
While in the command prompt, type chkdsk /f /r and enter and let it run. She might want to plan itself to start at the next startup. Okay, then restart so that the program can run. It will scan and attempt to resolve any corruption or bad sectors on your hard drive and remove especially as a potential cause.
Please checkwith the manufacturer to find out if there is a mouse driver updated (software or firmware) available for your make and model of mouse and your version of Vista. Download and install to update the driver to the most recent available and see if that solves the drag and drop problem (even though I know that this will not affect the question of the name change). Once you have the drivers, you can install them via the Manager device as follows: http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/193584-device-manager-install-driver.html.
If it doesn't (or if SFC detects corruption it cannot repair), we you will need to do a repair/system upgrade using the Windows Vista Installation disc authentic (you own or that you can borrow from someone). Here is the procedure: http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/88236-repair-install-vista.html. Although this will not affect your data, settings or programs, you should always back up your data before you start just be on the safe side. You can have a lot of updates to re - install (including all you need to remove service packs). If the version of the system came with SP1 or SP2 preinstalled and the disc is an earlier version, then you will need to make a record of slipstream as follows: http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/151606-vista-sp1-slipstream-installation-dvd.html.
I hope this helps.
Good luck!

The pop-up shows not all the information and cannot enlarge the window
I played on www.pogo.com for the last days. When I first connected, I had everything working properly. About 2 hours when I logged in, I clicked on a game to play. The games open in a pop-up window. This time, the window was too small for all the information and there are things to be cut. For example, I couldn't type in the chat window, as the line for typing has not to run. In addition, one of my games was missing half of the screen so I could see all of the game happening. I am really keen to play on this Web site, and my free trial subscription expires Wednesday, November 30, so I would like to address this issue before that date. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Windows Explorer stops working at random times while browsing files.
Windows Explorer stops working at random times while browsing files. I tried to fix this by doing a start-up in minimal mode, but without any result.
It all started with a similar problem, Explorer windows stops working at first upward and restarts and stops working again and restarts again and keeps it doing. I've tried several things like do a clean boot, by safe mode, but even there it happened the same thing but this time, stop once and restart it once, and then it worked normally. When I started windows normally, it did the same thing, so I tried and inplace upgrade and did not work, so finally I did a cover, but only on the first partition, which is the operating system, now I have this problem, Explorer stops working at random times while browsing the folders, it restarts, but then the same thing happens.
Please help me I am running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit and sorry for my bad English.Hello
I tried your methods, but still did not work. In the meantime, I did a full restore to two partitions, and it worked. I guess the problem was I uninstalled a few unwanted games, which came with the pc and the anti-virus of the trial. -

Separated from the:Hi HBrown Gordon,
In order to focus more on your particular situation, I shared your post to a new thread.
Please take a look at the following information through Wunders in a previous post:
The work of Windows Explorer is to consider what is in the disk and its directory and present this information to the user. If the disk or the disk directories are corrupted, it confuses Windows Explorer and can lead to lock. Whenever Windows Explorer crashes, the first step should be to achieve a check disk (chkdsk) with the /f or/r option.
"How to perform disk error in Windows XP check"
<>http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/315265 >Check disk can usually take hours depending on the speed and the size of the hard drive. If corruption is present, it may take more time. Plan on execution of the audit during the night or when you won't need your computer for awhile. In addition, if corruption is present, files may be lost. If possible, save what you can before you run the disk check.
Hope that helps!

You can also scan your computer the Microsoft Security Scanner, which would help us to get rid of viruses, spyware and other malicious software.
The Microsoft Security Scanner is a downloadable security tool for free which allows analysis at the application and helps remove viruses, spyware and other malware. It works with your current antivirus software.

Note: The Microsoft Safety Scanner ends 10 days after being downloaded. To restart a scan with the latest definitions of anti-malware, download and run the Microsoft Safety Scanner again.
Note: The data files that are infected must be cleaned only by removing the file completely, which means that there is a risk of data loss.
