Internet TV in Windows Media Center

In Windows Media Center, it has an option for Internet TV. When I try to use it, it has a popup that says that this feature is not available in the Canada. I am in Pa, USA. I checked the language settings and location, and they are set for English and the USA. I am running Windows Vista. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Barb thanks for all your help. I do not have it work, but I've upgraded to windows 7 and now it works.

But when I play back on quicktime on the computer they showup how I shot them where u don't have to tilt your head to view the video. Hello chisox05matt,

    Thank you for visiting the Microsoft answers Site.

    You can check with the device manufacturer for more information about recording and playback. This can occur if the video was recorded in landscape mode. Try to change the display or orientation in software video editing for playback in Windows Media Center or Windows Media player.

    In addition, you can also see the thread below that contains information about a similar problem.

  • Windows media center (vista) makes a gurgling noise in speakers when the display is active.

    Buzzing noise disappears in WMC is reduced to the minimum. In addition, no noise present during the use and display of windows media player or any other application. Only when WMC is displayed. All other inputs and outputs (line, microphone, etc.) are set to 0 and muted. Buzzing noise is not loud, but are noticeable between tracks, or when the song is paused. Noise does not increase or decrease with volume changes.

  • Windows Media Player 10 is to blame for PC restart when I hotsync Palm USB Windows XP

    In my previous post, I wrote how can I Hotsync my Palm VX (Via the Serial Port) on Windows XP but when I tried my M515 HotSync, my computer shuts down immediately and it restarts. Then my PC started to plant a blue screen when stopping with an error on a 'Device Driver' in the 'Kernel Stack"or something. (No idea what that means). After a complete reformat, I reinstalled Windows XP and Service Pack 3 unconnected to the internet. Without having to install anything else, I installed Palm Desktop 4.1.4 and Hotsynced. Two fine hotsynced palms. I created a system restore point and installed Windows Media Player 10 from a backup (I had not run Media Player 9 which comes with XP). When I then tried to Hotsync my M515, it immediately restarts the PC as before. Uninstall Media Player while version 9 has been "canceled" does not solve the problem. Unfortunately, I did not uninstall and reinstall Palm Desktop, who might have done the trick, but when I used my Restore Point to go back to the after Service Pack 3 installed, reinstalled Palm Desktop and my Palm Hotsynced once more. Since then, I have installed MS Office 2000, Avast Antivirus, Zone Alarm, even RealPlayer (V10) and my Hotsyncs still Palm very well. I removed Windows Media Player by using Add/Remove Windows components in Control Panel. I have not yet run Windows updates, but when I do, I'll do a Custom update avoid all updates that involve Windows Media Player (since I don't use it). Maybe it's not relevant, but I see that an export of Palm Memo (*.mpa) has been associated with Media Player initially and then with Real Player.Removing this association in Windows Explorer appears not to convince Windows that this is not a movie file and I don't know how to do a file only as my address book and Contacts file. It may not even be important, but it could be useful.

    An update, I have now enabled XP Home and installed all updates of high priority for XP Home Edition, except for the upgrade to Internet Explorer 6 (I prefer to use Opera as my browser) I have not installed the other optional updates, and of course, I do not have an updated Media Player version. I removed the Media Player 9 which comes with XP (just in case where causing the same problems as version 10) using Add Remove Windows components so that nobody else runs it accidentally. I also installed the latest versions of Macromedia Flash Player for Internet Explorer and Opera without causing problems. My PC works beautifully and my HotSync Palm like a spring lamb. Real Player 10.5 behaves itself.

  • Option for "warn me when sites try to charge ' does not work?

    Firefox 37.0.1 (and all of my previous installations) for MacOS X 10.7.5.

    I would have thought that such a simple case of reload javascript has been covered. For example, drudgereport.com charge always annoyingly all few minutes in its header:

    var timer = setInterval ("autoRefresh ()", 1000 * 50 * 3);
    function {self.location.reload (true) ;} autoRefresh()

    This does not qualify as a bonefide browser bug?

    The setting in "Options/Preferences > advanced > general" does not work when JavaScript is used to refresh a web page as the drudgereport website uses.

    A possible workaround is to use a bookmarklet to disable this "feature".
    You use the bookmarklet you (re) load the web page.

    javascript:clearInterval(timer);void(autoRefresh=null);

    The setting to "Options/Preferences > advanced > general" is designed as an accessibility feature, as you can see by the label of this section, so that people with disabilities or people who use screen readers don't get confused not and is not intended as a security protection to stop to redirect.

  • 'windows media center' on Vista32 and Vista64 can't see movies on 'disc of Windows 7 "

    I have 2 Windows 7 machines.   We have a lot of movies (VOB files) 3 TB drive.   The other Windows 7 machine can play movies very well since Windows Media Center.  But I have 2 other machines (a Vista 32-bit and a 64-bit Vista).  The two Vista machines can see through Explorer, but in Windows Media Center movie files, nor machine can find movies when I try to add them to the library.

    I use to have movies on discs smaller on Vista32 bit machine and all 4 machines could play movies very well.

    Does anyone know of issues where WMC on Vista is not able to see movies on Windows 7 machines?     Thanks in advance.
