In XP Documents and Settings, are files under Admin, default user, all users, and duplicate files etc?

I see in Windows XP under Documents and Settings administrator, all users, default user and owner records. This is a duplication of files? I'm trying to clean up my hard drive and I would like to have just a structure, such as the owner or the administrator. Can I get rid of all the others and save a workspace of dick? How do I do that?

* original title - more disk space? *

N ° don't get rid of one of these data structures, or later, you'll be sorry.

For everyday use, you should use the profile of 'owner '.  All your documents, music, images and other data must be different subdirectories to the title of owner.

The administrator is a built-in account for emergency use administrator privileges (for example, if your daily profile becomes corrupted).  Probably, you don't see administrator on the Welcome screen.

Every user is an account that is used to share data between different users.  If there is only a single user defined on your computer, there should be very little in every user account in the "My Documents" of this profile part, but some applications that you have installed may have placed hidden files in different folders in the profile all users.

Default user is a model that is used to create new user profiles.

If you are interested in which is placed on your hard drive, download and run JDiskReport.

If you fear that you progress low hard drive space, there are a few things you can do, but all of them are essentially temporary measures.  If you're really under out of space on your hard drive, you can buy a bigger hard drive.

Run Disk Cleanup (start > run > cleanmgr.exe > OK)
Adjust system restore space
Disable the Indexing Service
Uninstall the applications that you use is no longer

  • Whenever Firefox is closed and reopend, all settings (home page, security settings) are reset to zero by default.

I opened the menu, select the option and the change of things like my homepage, I track my preferences and advanced settings. Every time I close Firefox and then reopen it, my settings are returned to the default settings. Maybe I'm missing a box 'Reset all settings on reboot' I accidentally checked, but I do not. Any help will be great.

    I appreciate it.

    Hello

Make sure that you have no third-party application, such as an antivirus, preventing your preferences to be saved. Some protection software have a feature that protects your preferences be changed by malicious software, but also you can change your own settings. For more information, see How to repair preferences that will not save.

  • Mobile data does not and the name of the Access Point settings are not available

I don't have a mobile data, not even the small up and down arrows or letters beside the sims signal bars appear.

I tried all the troubleshooting settings and different type of network, the airplane mode is off, mobile data are no limit, no power save modes are on. Phone is dual sim so I tried on the two sims and tried to disable the other sim and changing the sim slots, both sims are loaded with a credit of data that works in other android devices. WiFi works fine. Factory reset does not help.

There is that one thing that I can't not try troubleshooting. When I select settings > more > mobile networks > access point names, it says

"Access Point name settings are not available for this user.

Maybe if I could put APN I could get mobile data. How can I do or how I can try to get mobile data to work?

Phone's Xperia M4 Aqua E2363 with build 26.1.B.2.102 thanks if you can help

This text is a bit misleading, which is something that I have forwarded internally as your comments.

If you have no NPP stored the phone displays the text "the name of the Access Point settings are not available for this user" even if you use the owner account and have access to the settings.

Try to download the automatic settings from settings-> more-> Internet settings and see if that helps.

  • Old settings are applied to all photos

Well, I edited a .jpg file in ACR bridges. I chose about 5 other photos to sync with these settings. After that I have synced those my eintire folder synchronized with these settings. When I tried to change > devolpe settings > clear settings nothing happened. When I purged the cache all files clear by default then one returned to the other parameters with saturation and viggnettes. Now every time I open any folder in bridge settings are applied to all my new files and all my photos. When I'm in a new folder I can select all and delete settings then start over, but if I close bridge and reopen the old settings are reapllied. This happens to all types of pictures, CR2, DNG and jpg.

When I purged the cache all files delete by default then a went back

for other viggnettes and saturation settings. Now every time I open everything

file in bridge, the settings are all applied to my new records and all my

    photos.

Looks like you accidentally together a new camera Raw default.? First open a

    Good afternoon:

Have recently been spotted by Windows XP Pro disk space on my C drive is low.  I reinstalled all the obvious large files (e.g., photos) on an external hard drive.  I have drilled down into individual files on the C drive to ensure other potential consumers of space. Found the folder that can be the source.

Last year, I converted from Outlook Express (OE) for Outlook.  At this point, I rode on my e-mail and the e-mail folders in Outlook.

I found a file in the following location that seems to contain the OE files.  I would like to know if the removal of these files of OE (~8.5 GB) impact my Outlook folder/mail e-mail before I remove them.

    The location is: C:/Documents and Settings/rjhirsch (me) / Local Settings/Application Data / identities / {31391EF3-B3AC-4F12-94D8-DC2DA45E9526} / Microsoft/Outlook Express.

The folder contains about 8.5 GB of e-mail to OE folders more of them are dated July/August 2010.

It is safe to assume that when I converted originally these OE e-mail/folders over to Outlook - that Outlook has caught up - and it's OK to delete these files?

    Thanks for your help.

    Cheers.

    Rick

If you do not use OE, then Yes. It will not affect Outlook at all. Open the database messages OE, the folder that you have described, and remove all the dbx files. If you need OE once again, when you open OE, it creates new files dbx for all default folders such as Inbox, sent, etc. items.

  • more than one profile under documents and settings administrator

Under Documents and Settings, there are several 'profiles administrator ";  Administrator, Administrator.COMPUTER, Administrator.COMPUTER.000, Administrator.COMPUTER.001, etc. 002, 003.

Can all but removed the 'administrator' basis or all files within other profiles must be copied to the basic?

The profile currently in use is the one that you will not be able to delete the user profile settings screen when logged in as a user.
Another way to determine is to log on as administrator and create a single named file on your desktop.  Then search in different "Documents and records for the Administrator.xxx Settings/Administrator.xxx/Desktop that contains the file that you created on the desktop.  This will be the current profile.  If you do not use the administrator account, normally while there may be no file user useful to save the other profiles.

  • With Windows XP SP3: How to find the temporary Internet files in C:\Documents and Settings of the user?

While making a sweep of the AV, I see the files under analysis I want to remove it from my computer. All I can remember for the location of the files is C:\Documents and Settings of the user... I guess that the question is what will be called as temporary Internet files (under Windows 95). What should I do to access the folder where the files are stored?

Tools / folder options. Discover tab show hidden and protected system files

Use ccleaner do... Install, then run it.

'Documents and Setiings' is a junction point, not a folder. All he was there for was to facilitate legacy programs running on Vista.

  • fragmented files Documents and Settings\User1\Local Settings\Temp\toolbar_log.txt

I'm going to defragment the cause there are a lot of red and gives files thinking about the computer. There are still two blocks red af after defragmentation. We have 709 fragmented files. the only thing he tells me is to defragment again. This is a sound block saying me the corresponding problem. Documents and Settings\User1\Local Settings\Temp\toolbar_log.txt

    Hi Jason,

    1. to confirm, do you use the Windows XP operating system?

    2. do you get an error message? If Yes, what is the full error message?

It seems that we have to clean the unnecessary files and check if the drive works properly or not.

I suggest you perform the steps.

Method 1: Use the Disk Cleanup tool and check if that helps you.

    See also:

How to automate the disk cleanup tool in Windows XP

    Rerun defragment and check.

    Method 2:

Alternatively, you can scan the hard disk for errors. You may need to run the scan several times and make sure that the disc is clean.

    Reference:

How to perform disk error checking in Windows XP

    Chkdsk

    You can opt chkdsk/r

Note: He performs a comprehensive check, even if the drive is not marked for chkdsk to run. This parameter is none of the changes on the disk.

Note: Running chkdsk on the drive if bad sectors are found on the disk hard when chkdsk attempts to repair this area if all available on which data can be lost.

Once you have finished the cleaning disc and chkdsk, you can perform defragment to see if it solved the problem.

Hope this information helps. Response with status so that we can help you.

  • Remove temporary files from the local disk c/documents and settings/user/localsettings/temp name

Remove temporary files from the local disk c/documents and settings/user/localsettings/temp name

By definition, this folder should contain only the elements you don't need.  If I understand correctly, this temporary folder is a place where temporary files are stored during program facilities and the facilities.  However, I have seen references other sites to help saying some programs can store folders and files.

I do my own temporary file elsewhere, name it accordingly and move all the files in the temp folder to the new folder. Use your computer normally for a while, and if nothing complains about missing files, you have a good indication that none of the moved files are important and should be safe to delete.

  • Can't see hidden files to delete in the folder C:\Documents and Settings\William\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files

C:\Documents and Settings\William\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files folder there are more than 135,000 files; nearly 2,000 cases and close to 3 GB of data. These files do not display and I can't remove them by deleting temporary Internet files. When I try to see the files to help to locate hidden files, only three very small files appear. How can I delete these files? Can I delete the folder and create a new one?

    William

You can also enter your options Internet Explorer (via Control Panel), on the general tab, in the browsing history, there should be a settings button, once there, you should be able to select Show files in the temporary Internet files section.  Who will open the file for you and you can do CTRL + A (select all), and then delete.

Some of the files in the folder may be used, and if they are in use, you will not be able to remove them.  You will need to know what is their use, cannot be used, then delete them.
