inactivity of ll PIXMA 9000 without ink, clogging printhead?

I will travel up to 3 months without using my printer. What can be done, if anything, to prevent ink clog the print head?

Should I remove the ink tanks & Strip vents? Where is the printhead?

TIA

Forrest

Hi Farmey,

The main thing you want to do to make sure that the print head is capped is to turn off the printer using the power button before unplugging it from the outlet.  If you disconnect the power supply first, switch off the remains of the non clipped printhead which can speed up the process of wear on the print head.  It is also recommended to get out ink and store them in an airtight container such as a Ziploc bag.

    Hello

Is it possible to use HP PSC 1315 scanner without ink cartridges? A light ink control is brinking and it won't scan.

Sorry, you will not be able to scan without changing the cartridge.

The printer is not working with the lights flashing and an error state.

So, you will need to have LITTLE ink cartridges to scan.

I don't use it for printing but I would still use it as a scanner.

    Hello

Suppliers (all) should allow printers scan ONLY without necessity of inks. Unfortunately the way they work now: they will stop working during the warming up/verification of the process when no inks or missing ink because firstly, they are printers.

    Kind regards.

  • ALL: Number of pages in HPConnected printer without ink instant

I have printers located in our offices throughout the country and want to be able to see the current page count, or get an automatic count of the pages report sent to our main office through HPConnected email without having to put every machine on the instant ink.

Is it possible to see a number of pages by HP connected without having instant ink turned on?

    Hey @DelAssist,

Welcome to the Forums of HP's Support.

I understand that you wonder if it would be possible to check the page account using HP connected without registering in the instant the ink program. As communication page account is for tracking and billing, it is not possible to use this feature without being registered or handwritten no instant printers.

If you are wanting to remotely track the total page counter and have a VPN, you can enter the IP address of the printer to access the printer's built-in web server and check how many total pages there. You can also have a printer print a self-test report or State and will show total number of pages in the printer.

  • Impossible to install the new printer, Pixma MG5320 without error "setting up the network printer down.

I have a new all-in-one Canon Pixma MG5320. I am unable to get the installer to finish with on "setting up the network printer down." Despite numerous attempts to:

    (1) download the driver on the internet instead of the installation CD.
    2) with the help of msconfig with selective startup and disabled all programs except Microsoft.
    (3) creates the new administrator account and returned through it all.
    (4) turned off firewall and anti-virus
The error is compatible and I never have the unit set up under devices and printers. The installation is carried out without any errors marked and you will see the error if you get into the details of setting up and get him. The computer sees the printer when it finds and he answers. The printer and the router, both seem to be communicating correctly. Repair auto and troubleshooting programs I ran as fix - it do not detect errors. The printer works fine through a USB cable. I don't want to continue to use USB because that's why I wanted to go wireless. I'm sure that I forget some of the things I went through in my attempts to get this working. Anyone with any ideas or know what's going on please help.

  • New cartridge without ink

Do you think what would happen if I put in a new cartridge, which I did several times (black), that everything on the PC says that the cartridge is new and full, but still it refuses to print black ink?

Things worked... not with the printer, but HP.  I called, made a host of trouleshooting, still does not work.  They sent me a refurbished!  A lot!  I heard that it is a common problem.

    Hi Casey,.

Are how you trying to scan? If you use the HP software, try using the Apple built in scanner (imager Apple) it * may * allow you to bypass the no problem ink.

  • HP 6500 - E709n clogged Printhead?

My HP 6500 - E709n prints colors striated and erratic. I just replaced the ink cartridges, and it is always the case. I ran several times print head cleaning utility and still no change. Can anyone please offer suggestions on how to clean the print heads. Or suggest another issue which may occur. Thank you

Just had this problem, and did the following: removed cartridges, gray lever free print head remove print head, dip into a shallow solution of soapy water for about 5 minutes (pay attention to this level of water does not reach the points of contact on the back), swirl around once or twice all enjoying, remove, and sit on paper towels to drain , use the hair dryer on low heat to head print dry completely, gently wipe residue from bottom where the ink comes out, reinstall and after initialization, try printing.  Worked great for me, especially since parts are not available and saved to buy a new printer.  Too bad HP that does not add to their list of solution, but then they don't sell as many printers.  If you printer is no longer under warranty, as mine was, it was worth compared to buying a new one.

  • HP all-in-one with the ink cartridges printheads does anyone know?

I was wondering if all are made that way today. I'm not going Canon, Lexmark or Brother.

I need a new MFP/all-in-one because Kodak sells more of their ink anywhere, nor any that's it fill here. I hardly ever print, and when I do, it's usually just copy something. (So my chances of having a dry ink is very, very, very high).

If anyone can recommend a good laser/copier printer which is wireless and cheap replace toner, who would also be nice. I was watching the M1217nfw as such, but Toner 69 USD replacements are a little high in price for me.

I'm not good to fill my own of toner or ink, so please do not suggest that.

  • HP 8500 has suddenly acts as Ink or printhead gave out

HP 8500 has was printing fine in both color and B & w. ink levels see the > 50% on all cartridges that I have no reason to doubt. Printer as a total of 3500 pages on this subject. I tried to clean the printheads to level 3, but all I get when I feel is a very pale yellow impression of what has been sent.

Print heads have a limited life span, for cartridges with the printhead built in, people don't realize, like the printhead is replaced when you replace a cartridge.
Again, there are two peintheads in the printer, it is for the black and the other cyan/magenta, if "clean printhead" does not return, they will need to be replaced.
One last thing you might want to try is manually clean the print head (Note: do not recommend this, as manually clean the print head usually end up damaging the printhead HP, but if the next thing is you recycle the print head, why not give it a try?) To manually clean the print head, you remove the print head by following the steps described in the doc above, use a lint cloth, wet with hot water and lightly touch wipe the printhead area.

  • T120: Will be this Ink Jet Dry Out?

I'm looking to replace my designJet 450 c late which lasted about 14 years. My biggest complaint with this printer was that after sometimes go months without printing, the nozzles on the ink cartridges would be dry. I was able to revive the black ink cartridge by rubbing its nozzles with isopropyl alcohol on a Q-Tip, but color cartridges were less forgiving and had to be replaced long before their ink have been spent. I finally gave up on using color printing.

I would like a new printer 24 inch large format color, mainly used for architectural drawings, and the T120 is in my budget. The question is, is ink technology and feel similar to that of the 450 HP. and so give me the same problems of drying out or have improved that will give me years of carefree color printing without ink with clogged nozzles?

To be honest continuous months without printing is never a good idea with any inkjet printer even high-end.  The new Designjet printers uses a different method for the delivery of the ink in your old c of 450.  On your old printer, the ink and the print heads are one unit if the ink ran out you need to replace or if the printhead part went wrong, you need to replace.  Plotters of today have separate and distinct from the printheads ink tanks.  They use a set of tube between the two to provide the necessary ink.  The print heads contain little ink since it must flow from the top down and is powered by the tanks and the tubes where the ink is under pressure.  Also, service stations where parks of the carriage house when not not used are made better and cap the print heads better to provide a better seal to avoid drying out.  Usually, I recommend to my clients to print a flush at least once every 2 weeks.  May be a small article, but it keeps the cool heads and prevents the clogging in the long term.  On most modern conspirators, I see today, printing heads last 2 to 5 years without problem.  Also, as far as I saw never ink tanks go wrong.  On some models, the inks expire, but most allow for continuous printing with inks has expired.  Most recent plotters also have a cleaning routine that cleans the print heads when the obstruction has occurred.  Hope this helps with your decision.

  • OfficeJet 6100: Black ink printing

I have a yellow cartridge empty but want to print in black ink only 90% satisfied with my printing needs.

The manual here says 32-33 pages that the printer will print black if there is enough color ink in the print head, but once the ink has run out completely the cartrdige will need to be replaced.

HP and other printer manufacturers have technology another printer for different needs.  For ink jet printers:

      • Some have integrated into the ink cartridges print heads.  These printers can print generally with one or more of the colors completely empty, or even with color or black cartridges (but not both) removed. Deskjet 6980 series is an example, or for an all-in-one, check the Deskjet 2540.
      • Other printers have separate replaceable printheads and inks.  An example would be the printer Officejet 6100.  In these printers print head can be replaced if they are damaged by running the printhead with colors off.  Some of these printers allow printing with a color, the other will not.  If the printer is run without ink in one or several colours, the printer may be damaged, but the user may be able to recover without having to send to the printer for the service.
      • Other printers have permanent print heads.  To run only those without little ink in all colours would risk causing damage to the print head because of clogs, air ingested in the printhead or grilled printhead resistances of shooting. The Officejet 6700 is an example of this type of printer. For printers with fixed print heads that could require the service to get the printer to print properly again when the ink is finally replaced.

The document described here how the ink is used.  While the document is written for inkjet printers HP the same principles apply to the other manufacturers.print but especially black color inkjet printers printer IPH as those in the first category above can be a good choice.

  • HP OfficeJet 8600: Print using black ink only

We use our printer as a copier only.  It is not connected to a computer.  Why do the color cartridges run out of ink and we cannot print black print.  We print any documents using color.  Is it possible to turn on the black only?

Sorry, but the HP Officejet Pro 8600 has separated from the inks and printheads and requires that all inks are available to avoid damage to the print head.

You can minimize the ink used with the following steps:

    • Use draft mode when the quality is sufficient.  Draft mode uses about half the ink or Normal or best mode.
    • Power switch of the printer only allows to turn off the printer.  If an external switch (as a protector or output impulse) is used more ink will be used at startup.

HP and other printer manufacturers have technology another printer for different needs.  For ink jet printers:

    • Some have integrated into the ink cartridges print heads.  These printers can print generally with one or more of the colors completely empty, or even with color or black cartridges (but not both) removed. The Officejet 8040 has us an example.
    • Other printers have separate replaceable printheads and inks.  An example would be the printer Officejet 8600.  In these printers print head can be replaced if they are damaged by running the printhead with colors off.  Some of these printers allow printing with a color, the other will not.  If the printer is run without ink in one or several colours, the printer may be damaged, but the user may be able to recover without having to send to the printer for the service.

If you do ever print color laser printer would probably be a better choice.  If you occasionally print color but especially black a HPI printer as those in the first category above can be a good choice.

  • HP Officejet 8500 a e-all-in-one: Officejet 8500 A progressively less black ink prints

    Greetings,

I have an Officejet 8500 a e-all-in-one, which was a little finiky when it print black ink. It prints well in the morning and for most of the day, but sometimes late in the afternoon, it will print progressively less black ink until it stops completely. When he is left alone during the night, it will start printing without any problems again in the morning. The amount that we will print does not seem to have an effect. It will do the days where we printed almost anything just as often we are printing constantly throughout the day.

There is a laptop connected via the USB port and two other people who connect via radio. A computer has 10 64 - bit Windows, Windows 64 - bit to 8.1, the last is a macbook. Printing problems are are produced through two connections.

There is no problems with the ink cartridges, they are brand new and in Full ink levels report.

The printer has aligned the printheads several times with success.

I ran to the printhead cleaning several times and it had no effect.

I took the print heads and cleaned the contacts on the back and in the machine.

There has been no error on machines or computers.

At this point I'm not sure if it's a matter of ink clogged or if it is somehow overheating.

  • Why my printer HP Officejet 6600 uses color ink even if I'm not printing in color?

I've had this printer about a year now. I replaced the full range of ink at least 3 times now, working on 4. I don't post much at all. A couple of leaves a day or two. I always thought she was using color ink very quickly so I thought I'd put it to the test. I changed the default settings in black ink only. I have replaced all the ink cartiridges, color and black. I decided this time I would not print anything in color just to see what happened. Well, the same thing is happening as if I were with color ink. The color ink is empty much faster than black ink. This seems weird to me. Now, we are at the point where it will not be printed unless I have replace the magentia. It seems unfair that they do not mention this clearly when you buy the item. Something like "Oh, by the way, we are not making enough money doing business as it should, then we will make replace you your ink supply, even if it is really not necessary and must take over." I paid for a new printer already with ink costs. Is there a way around this problem or am I stuck with it. Thank you.

When you set the printer to print grayscale has also selected "black ink"? only
