  • Cisco VPN Client is blocking incoming connections

    Hello

I somethimes (not always) a problem with the Cisco VPN Client.

As soon as the CISCO VPN Client is installed (it must not be running) it blocks inbound connections from the local network.

The problem is that I use Ultra VNC SC to support some of my clients. Another client is supported by Cisco VPN. With UltraVNC SC customer clients try to connect to my PC.

But if I installed the cisco VPN Client, no incoming connections are possible.

How can I change this behavior?

This behavior is not always the same. Last incoming connections of two months were possible, but from one day to another is not possible more.

I recently installed the Client, but it takes no effect :-(

I have NOT activated the firewall Cisco on the VPN Client and the behavior is NOT only if the Client is activated. This is the behavior even if it is NOT active and just installed.

    Hi Chris,

Zone alarm is installed on the PC that is defective?

Try to restart the Cisco VPN service and launch the vpn client.

I remember having a similar problem with the Cisco VPN Client. Some conflict between the VPN client and Zone-Alarm, installed on the same PC.

The problem was with VSDATANT variables in the registry key.

Remember that for a PPTP VPN server you must forward/open the TCP 1723 Port through a firewall or a router to the PC server is behind. You must also make sure that the firewall or the router will pass traffic GRE protocol 47 . This is sometimes called PPTP Pass Through or VPN Pass Through the firewall or the router. Windows Firewall automatically communicates the GRE protocol traffic if you make an Exception for the Port TCP 1723.

You can test it by running the test detailed in sections PPTP Ping and VPN traffic in this Cable Guy article.

You can download the tools, pptpsrv.exe and pptpclnt.exe to Microsoft or if you have an XP SP2 CD. To extract the programs on a PC Windows 7 open the CD and select open folder to view files in the AutoPlay window.

. Once it has been done successfully,
    . Disconnect the device (headset).
. Then, remove the device from the list of devices on your computer.
. Now try to connect your device to your computer FROM your device.

Is there a something to do to make it work?

    Hello

I use BT 320 Plantronics headset with my laptop and I can tell you just that configuration is very simple and finished in one minute. Since then, I simply use Plantronics shortcut on the desktop and can use the headphones without any problem.

I put t know why I should remove device from the connections list. If I do that I have to configure the connection whenever I want to use.

. Then, remove the device from the list of devices on your computer.
. Now try to connect your device to your computer FROM your device.

Sorry, but this way of using peripheral BT is for me unusual. When BT device on your laptop is enabled start Bluetooth settings and create the new connection. Every time when I want to use the BT headset, I do follow the steps:
-Device of BT and activate BT on the laptop
-Double-click on the shortcut created to BT headset
-Portable contact BT and I must press helmet itself to establish a connection
-After made this sound on the laptop are completely disabled and every sound produced on the laptop I hear BT headset only

All that s! I can't launch connectivity BT headset JUST to center of notebook BT (BT settings double click on the BT symbol in the taskbar).

Well, if you want to take the approach of sledge hammer then issues a statement of shun and wr mem.

    Shun xxx.xxx.x.xx<--- ip="" address="" you="" want="" to="">

Anyone see any reason why this reveal not the goal sought? Seems that if the IP address of theis is something he shouldn't while they don't want access as well as have it get to them.

  • How to get rid of a popup "to accept incoming network connections.

Since the upgrade to El Capitan, I get a popup message asking "do you want the"?. " App"to accept incoming network connections? a yellow container triangle one exclamation point.

It is to appear with multiple applications.  I have searched through all system settings and can't find any way to disable it.  2 sec Deny or Allow always generates it popping up again when the application is restarted.  No idea how to disable this?

The specific option is managed by your security (as indicated by the message) preferences: preferences system-> Security & privacy-> firewall.

Under Firewall Options, you have the ability to control/deny incoming connections for individual applications.

The approach of brute force to stop the messages would be to disable the firewall completely, but that wouldn't be better. Instead, it may be sufficient to add the word to the list of allowed applications (although it is not clear to me at this moment why Word would need incoming connections, or why access is not complete this list).

  • Disabled all incoming in the Windows Firewall, internet connections still work

I have disabled all inbound connections in windows firewall, but not noticed any problem with my internet connection. Weird how? For example, I let Internet Explore establish outbound connections, but do not allow for it or any other service/program to receive incoming connections. But Internet Explorer still gets responses from the servers on the internet when the requesting State pages and I also get a response from the DNS server of my ISP when IE tries to resolve ips domains. Weird. I misunderstood the meaning of incoming connections or there is a huge security hole in windows firewall.

    Hi Semjon,

This setting blocks all unsolicited attempts to connect to your computer. Use this setting when you need maximum protection for your computer, for example when you connect to a public network in a hotel or airport, or when a computer worm spreads on the Internet. With this setting, you are not notified when Windows Firewall blocks programs, and programs on the Exceptions list are ignored.

When you select block all incoming connections, you can still view most Web pages, send and receive electronic mail and send and receive instant messages.
