Incompatibility of Windows 7 and 32-bit

I have a new laptop PavillionDV6T, running windows 7 and some of my previous 32-bit discs are not compatible. I was advised to upgrade to the professional version, what I did, but still get the message that the program is not compatible.

W7 64-bit has a 32-bit subsystem, then this would not be the problem, what type of program (s) is?

Probably the reason that you were asked to upgrade to Pro had to install XP mode, allows you to run older allpications XP on a Windows 7 PC.

    Hello world

I installed 11.1.2.2 on server with Essbase and Shared Services.

Now, on the client, I have 64-bit Windows 7 and 64-bit office 2010.

I tried to install the Excel Addin client only (without customer Essbase) and restarted the computer after installation.
After that install addin not launched automatically and I tried to manually set the add-in, I get an error "is not a valid add-in.

Is this because I use 64-bit office and need to revert to 32-bit.
is not supported for the last 11.1.2.2 Essbase 64-bit?

Any ideas or experience in this regard will be useful to me that our society is underway for Windows 7 and Office 2010 through the users and if 64-bit Office is not supported or has problems, I wanted them to go with 32-bit Office 2010.

    Thank you.

  • Satellite A100 - need tools for Windows 7 and 64-bit drivers

    Hello

I have W7 RTM from Technet, and I install 64-bit edition on my laptop ' Satellite A100 (PSAA9) "I need 64-bit drivers and 64 bit utility (value added package..), but I can't find them... value added 32-bit package does not work on 64-bit (installation is rejected) :/"

Sorry, my English is very very bad

    Thanks for the tips

I do not think that you will have success installing Win7 64 bit on an old system as the A100, you should install 32 bit Win7 and use Vista 32-bit drivers.

  • Microsoft Picture It incompatibility with Windows 7 and the alternatives for the .mix files.

I have been using Microsoft Picture It for years to design a ton of graphics for my business and now I bought a new pc with Windows 7 and find that my true love Picture It! is not compatible.  I never dreamed that this would be the case for a software that is not even a decade or just spent thousands on the new pc would sit immediately to the store that it came.  I really feel that Microsoft has cheated me on something that I paid for and invested so much work making it unusable, and it brought my small business to a standstill.  What other program is available that is compatible with Windows 7 that will allow me to edit and view existing and another .mix Picture It! file format and contain all the features of Picture It?  I'd be willing to buy other Microsoft software to Picture It compatible with Windows 7 if necessary.

    Hi all

I know you are all disappointed that Microsoft Picture It is not compatible with Windows 7.

Your comments would be better heard if you send to the site Windows 7 comments.

Here are your options when the software is not compatible:

If the program is not compatible, then you try to install and run the program in compatibility mode.

    Use the following steps:
    (1) right click on the program
    2) click Properties
    3) click on the Compatibility tab
    (4) select run this program in compatibility mode and select Windows XP, Windows Vista or other operating system, the program has been run successfully.

Check out the link here: make sure to run older programs in this version of Windows
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/make-older-programs-run-in-this-version-of-Windows

If you are running Windows 7 Professional or Ultimate version, install Windows Virtual PC and Windows XP mode (http://www.microsoft.com/windows/virtual-pc/default.aspx) and run your software in Windows XP.

If you run Windows 7 Home Premium, try VirtualBox (www.virtualbox.org) or VMware Player
(www.vmware.com) or any other virtualization 3party software and install a separate copy of Windows XP (family or professional edition) for this purpose. You can find the virtualization software free that will run on Windows 7 Home Premium.

  • I can't download Windows updates or updates of Windows Defender, and my BITS will not start.

Hi, I have a HP Pavilion dv4 Notebook PC, and I can't get my updates of windows to download anything. My BITS will not start.

-Processor: Intel (r) Core (TM) 2 Duo CPU
    At 2.10 GHz, 2.10 GHz T6500
    -Memory (RAM): 4.00 GB
    -System type: 64-bit operating system
    -Windows Vista Home Premium Edition
    -Service Pack 2

I have Webroot AntiVirus with Spy Sweeper and I recently downloaded the Malewarebytes Malware Anti.

Whenever I try to download an update for anything, be it Itunes, Windows Defender, Windows updates, updates to HP or Microsoft Updates, they do not always arrive.

When I go into the service menu & try to start BITS it comes up with this message:

Windows cannot start the Service on the Local computer's Background Intelligent Transfer
Error 126: The specified module is not found.

When the updates of Windows fails to download updates, it comes up with the error Code: 80246008.

I tried to download on microsoft.com BITS Repair tool, but it is said that the tool is not necessary.

I really need someone to help me and to understand this point for me, it's happened now for about 3 months. When I bought the laptop I had Webroot AntiVirus with Spy Sweeper installed, and I just installed Malwarebytes' Anti Malware, a week ago.

    Anyway, do the following:

    1. download the Norton Removal Tool, save it to your desktop: ftp://ftp.symantec.com/public/english_us_canada/removal_tools/Norton_Removal_Tool.exe

1B. download the tool McAfee Consumer Product Removal, save it to your desktop: http://download.mcafee.com/products/licensed/cust_support_patches/MCPR.exe

    2. close all open applications (that is, anything with an icon on the taskbar).

    3. click right on the file saved in # 1 above, and then select run as administrator to run the utility. DO TAP not your keyboard until the race ends, then restart.

    4. click right on the file saved in # 1 b above, and then select run as administrator to run the utility. DO TAP not your keyboard until the race ends, then reboot again.

    5 test.

  • Windows 8 and 128-bit cpu

    Hello.

I buy a laptop. but I have question.

I've got my friend lesson: Windows 8 only Support 128 bit processor. Is it really?

Computers will not go 128 bit very very very long time...

A 32-bit address register means that 4 GB ofRAM or 232 addresses. It's the MAXIMUM THEORETICAL TOTAL AMOUNT OF MEMORY a 32-bit system can handle. So if you have 32 bit and you have 4 GB or RAM and 512 MB GPU RAm, your computer will use only 3.5 GB of RAM for the main system... TOTAL OF 4 GB. The 4 GB max has been implemented on almost all 32-bit systems...

64-bit, however, is not this double... Infact it does much more than that... currently on windows 7/vista, I think that the maximum memory is 192GO (this is only if you have the teacher/enter/ultimate) If you have the Starter/Home Edition it's 8 GB if you have Home Premium is 16 GB

The theoretical MAXIMUM for 64 - bit is actually 16 EXABYTES. 1 GB = 2 ^ 30 an exabyte is 2 ^ 60... now to give you another kind of referance what size an exabyte is really... 'In March 2010 , the overall monthly Internet traffic is estimated at 21 exabytes'

So I guess to answer your question... don't listen to your friend, he doesn't know what he's talking about. I've never even heard of a 128-bit processor. I've never heard of Windows 8. And all modern laptops will run vista or windows 7. Your CPU will most likely be 64 and 32 compatible (if the computer has been made in the last 3 years) Windows is 64 or 32-bit, but if you have the 64-bit, as I do, then 32-bit applications still works fine... But in theory, you can get more performance from a 64-bit application/software. The main reason to get a 64 bit version of windows in my opinion is to allow more than 4 GB of memory on your system.

  • 64-bit and 16-bit Windows 8 compatibility

If Windows 8 64-bit is not 16-bit compatibility. Is there anyway that I can do so it has compatibility? I'm trying to run an old program plan that runs on windows XP and 16 - Bit editing

This is true of Windows 8 64 bit as well: the 16-bit programs only are not supported, because they are so old. Microsoft cannot continue to support all for always. You have two options:

You could dual-boot with a 32 bit OS - that would let you run Windows 8 or switch to XP to run the card program. You always have your copy of XP?

You could downgrade Win8 to 32 bits, which could allow you to run the program, but this is an extreme solution for a single program. There is also still no guarantee that the program would work.

You could do a 'virtual machine' in Virtualbox, which would allow you to run Windows XP inside of Windows 8, and you can run the card on that program. That's actually what I would say.

There are ways to run your program, but none of them are simple, quick solutions and easy, I'm afraid.

  • "Cannot use adobe reader to view PDFs in your web browser" error in Windows 7 and Acrobat pro 8.1.7

I get the error 'cannot use adobe reader to view PDFs in your web browser.  Player will now stop.  Please exit your browser and try again"in Windows 7 x 32 and Windows 7 x 64 with Acrobat pro 8.1.7.  This occurs when you try to open a PDF file in Internet explore 8.0.760 or when I open a PDF file in Quickbooks 2008.  If I answer ok or cancel, the file opens normally.  If I open acrobat 8 first of all and then the pdf file opens as expected.  I also tried a copy of Acrobat reader, with no difference in the result.  Because this happens on two different computers a new copy of windows 7 x 64, the other, an upgrade to windows 7 x 32 and they used to work before moving to windows 7, I guess that there is some sort of incompatibility with windows 7 and acrobat.  Is this a known problem and will be fixed in an update to acrobat in the near future?

For Windows 7 you will need Adobe Acrobat 9.1.

  • Windows 8 and Windows 7 64-bit drive Possible? laptop

Well, unfortunately, I downloaded windows 8 and not knowing that I completely itself installed on my previous operating system. (Win7 Home Premium) I lost the disk I got with my laptop so I can not re - install windows 7 and see how I thought it was unfair for me to spend another 100 euros or so on it I was wondering if I could get possibly another windows 7 disc sent to me. I think it would be better if a member of the staff of hp itself could answer my question.

    Thank you

    Hello:

Nobody works for HP will answer your request on this forum in an official capacity.

You can buy a recovery for your PC disk by reading the info on the link below.

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c00810334

Otherwise, I have a solution that is better than nothing if you don't want to order recovery disks.

Download the ISO file of the version of Windows 7 that is located on the COA Microsoft sticker on the bottom of your PC. There are also the version in the language of your original operating system to PC provided with.

For example, if your tile is windows 7 Home premium and that the language was Danish, select Download 32 or 64-bit windows 7 Home premium - Danish file.

Burn the file to a DVD using a program that can burn ISO files so that you can boot from the DVD.

Install Windows 7. Then use the product key 25 character on the sticker COST microsoft on the bottom of your PC to activate the installation.

Then pass it the HP support and the driver page for your laptop and install all the drivers you need.

  • Tungsten T3 Hot Sync in Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit and WIndows XP mode

I've upgraded to Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit and now my Palm T3 will not be synchronized.  I downloaded desktop 4.1.4e 6.3 and 4.1.4. I tried all three in both windows 7 and windows XP mode that tells me is a 32-bit o/s but I'm really not sure.  I tried to hot sync in bluetooth in windows 7, as the T3 and laptop connect but he always tells me that the port is used by another program? Does anyone know what I have to do to get it to sync or am I've sentenced to throw my faithful T3 out? Any ideas?

Hello eaglesfan723 and welcome to the forums of Palm.

The Tungsten T3 HotSync driver is not 64-bit capable, this is why you can't get the T3 to HotSync.  Please read this thread to learn more about your options with Windows 7.

  • 32-bit Windows 7 and error message shown on Satellite T series

Assistance needed for this fake computer.

I started to install 64-bit windows 7 then click on Cancel to halfway, after that I realized that maybe this might require too much RAM.

    Hello
If I understand correctly, you ' ve started to install windows 7 and then cancelled the installation. Now get persistent error message (F3-F200-0002). Just do a fresh install again.

  • EliteBook 8730w: number of key Windows Vista 32 and 64 bit

    Hello

XP has been installed from a disk partition (D)

My laptop has been improved from XP to Vista 32 bit with the CD that I got the pakage.

In the buttom is a buffer with the key number.

I have the CD with Vista 32 and Vista 64

1 is the number of the same key the 32 and 64-bit

    2. I would like to format the C drive.

    3. can I install Vista 64, from the CD?

    Thank you for your help

No worries. Yes, you can perform an installation of Vista with the DVDs you have. You can reformat the hard drive as part of the installation.

Before you start, go into the Device Manager to see what wireless adapter, graphics card and network card is installed and write it down. This will allow you to save time.

You will need the following DVD that you said that the laptop came with...

Operating system DVD of Windows Vista Business SP1 (64 - en)

Application and Driver Recovery DVD 32-bit and 64-bit for Windows Vista

Note the twenty five characters activation of license key before starting. Enter it on the request for the installation of Windows script. Once the installation is complete, use the disk to install the drivers. If HP Support Assistant is available on the disk driver and application, install also.

I want to do a full format of the drive around & pure install a fresh copy of Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit OS. Hello

    Try the following.

Remove the disc to install Windows 7 and laptop stop,

TAP the ESC key as soon as you start the launch of the portable computer and then Start Menu, insert the Windows 7 installation disc.  Select boot options (usually f9 ), use the arrow keys to select the CD/DVD drive and press ENTER.  You can also get a prompt to "Press any key to" continuous - it if requested.
