Increase video memory dedicated for my computer...

Hi, my computer is a Windows Vista Ultimate, Intel Core to Duo T7700 2.4 GHz, 4 GB of RAM, 2 GB of RAM, blah blah blah, video Total rest is not necessary.

Anyway, I wanted to know how to increase my DEDICATED VIDEO RAM, not the total. Currently, my dedicated video memory is sitting up to 256 MB, which means approximately 1.74 GB of video RAM is not used (supposedly).
I tried everything to my Start menu to enter the "BIOS", which everyone says is the way to change the dedicated video memory. Unfortunately, the BIOS does not turn upward anywhere and I can't find another way to change the dedicated video memory.
What is the easiest or more simplified to change my dedicated video memory? Or I do something wrong?
Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
P.S. I use my computer to play various games (that you might have supposed), but I have played games that require more dedicated video RAM to display for my computer, for example 512 MB, while I have 256 MB, as mentioned previously. The games work well and generally smooth. Is it just because of the CPU or is my video memory dedicated, is actually just a mask for the amount of RAM? Or maybe something else?

  • Pavilion p7 - 1436 s: send more video memory dedicated RAM?

    Hello!

I have a Pavilion p7 - 1436, and a game I want to play requires a minimum of 1 GB of video RAM dedicated.

My graphic card/adapter is an AMD Radeon HD 7540D.

I have 8 GB of total RAM, and when I check my profile, this happens:

Total available graphics memory: 4096 MB

    Dedicated video memory: 512 MB

    Video memory: 0 MB

    Shared system memory: 3584 MB

I would spend at least a gigabyte of video memory dedicated , but I can't figure out how. I restarted my compurer and press F2/F10/DEL to get a certain menu, but the menu gave options for enforcement of controls on memory, not not the reallocation. I don't know if this menu has been the "BIOS" than other discussions they said access.

Thank you and I hope you can help!

    Hello

I wouldn't waste your time difference after that 512 MB is insignificant.

I suggest using a discrete graphics card.

  • Video memory dedicated 15 HP d002tx

    I bought a new laptop ModelNo.HP 15-d002tx with NVIDIA GeForce 820 M DDR3 1 GB dedicated video memory.

Despite an installation successful all the necessary drivers, I still could not see the displayed as 1 GB of video memory dedicated. I wrote an email to [email protected] July 22, 2014, but there is no answer yet. I had also chatted with HP an Expert on the issue, but there is solution.

The latest graphics drivers installed are Intel HD Graphics 4000 Version - 10.18.10.3621 and NVIDIA GeForce 820 M Version - 9.18.13.3788. My operating system is Windows 8.1.

Kindly let me know if there is anything wrong with my laptop newly purchased.

    Hello

By default you will see the Intel memory and this number for the Intel HD 4000. On the other screen, you can see the Nvidia card. Nothing wrong, at least he wasn't there.

    Kind regards.

  • How can I increase the video memory dedicated Satellite C660?

    Hello

I'm on a Toshiba Satellite C660 and I was wondering if it was possible to increase the minimum 64 MB dedicated video memory. I've got 1696 MB total available graphics memory and 8gbs of RAM.
I have had a look in the BIOS settings but couldn't find something useful.

    Thanks in advance guys.

Unfortunately, there is nothing you can do about it. There is not an option where you can change it manually. It works automatically.

With more RAM, more memory will be used for graphical operations.

  • Equium L10-273: can I increase video memory (UMA)?

I ordered an another 512MB in addition to the basic 256 MB (240 MB is available, is broken down between 16 MB video memory). Once I added the extra 512 MB can I allocate more video memory?

    Thank you

    Fred.

    Hi guys

Firstly a small description on UMA for some newbie s:
Unified memory architecture. A computer graphics chip integrated into the motherboard using a part of the main memory of the computer for the video memory is supposed to have a Unified Memory Architecture.

I think each of us knows the updated graphics card (I mean replacement) is usually not possible on laptops.
It s just a different technology as a desktop PC

However, shared memory graphics card using different values of graphics memory.
For example on Equium L10-300 (Equium L10-273 is not know for me) 32 MB and 64 MB.

The upgrade of main memory will not increase the graphics memory up to 128 or 256 MB.
This is not possible because on Equium L10-300, shared memory graphics card supports only 32 to 64 MB.

In your case maybe only from 16 to 32 MB.

I need to increase the video memory, but I have not found where I can do. (It was written that on this model can be up to 1 GB of video memory (3.25 full, but now because of simple calcularion is about 128.)) There is no option in the BIOS.

    Thank you

As far as I know you can't do it manually. It depends on RAM in your laptop and it will solve automatically.
With more RAM, more memory will be used for graphical operations.

What you need to do is upgrade RAM. As you can see in the specification, you can improve up to 16 GB. It is about.

You can buy an additional module more than 4 GB or 2 x 4 GB / 2 x 8 GB.

  • Video memory change dedicated in a notebook

I have a computer laptop g6-2002au in Win7 home premium 64-bit dual core 64 bit CPU, 2.7 ghz and an AMD Radeon 7520 G gpu clocks, which is generally used for the preview (for a class) film projects created in a video editor.  And for the video project files - stored on a usb key inserted in one usb ports - which have a playing time exceeds about 4 minutes, the presentation of the game runs for awhile then becomes stuttering - image paused for a while, although the sound continues, then the video seems to catch up , and after a short period takes over the activity of this judgment.  As the editor continues to run on faster data that his workspace are filled.

I have equivalent (originally brand and specifications) source memory RAM to increase the RAM installed to 8 GB without apparent effect on it.  A change in type of memory stick - usb2 for usb3 - helped a bit, but the question remains.  And disciussions with others using laptops - Toshiba actually - did not have this problem.

Video memory dedicated to the machine is 512 MB (windows show the details of settings), and I was informed that this probably isn't enough for video editing.  With 8 GB of RAM available now, it takes a lot for me to wear the amount dedicated for video editing.  Change that seems to be a function of the bios, but there isn't any apparent/accessible setting in the bios F.03 Insyde on the machine to allow me to do.  I have an exceptional application on the forum to update bios aimed at this problem...

But in the meantime a search of forum here suggests that others have asked this question 'dedicated video memory increase' for other laptops and the response has been that involved was delivered ex factory set with this parameter.  Actually, if the factory settings do not work, download another laptop.  And in light of this opinion, he would'nt were probably an HP product.

    Thus, the questions are,

    1. increase the specific dedicated video memory on this laptop?

    2. If so, how?

Kudos to Banhien for a quick and accurate response.

Thumbs down for HP and designers in this age of multimedia - creating a product self-limited and inefficient in this environment.

  • HP pavilion 500-123w: dedicated video memory

So I tried to install a game, by controlling require it software and hardware, I noticed that I needed 1 G of dedicated video memory, but I only have 32 MB. I went into the BIOS and I looked for the ability to change the dedicated video memory, but I couldn't find, is there a way I can add/change video memory dedicated?

    Thank you

    Carlos, welcome to the forum.

No, there is no way to change the integrated video memory.  Your best option would be to install a discrete PCI Express x 16 (Gen 2.0) video card.  This would also require a power supply (PSU) upgrade.  Your power supply is only 300W and recent video cards require a minimum of 400w.

Please click on the Thumbs up button '+' if I helped you and click on "Accept as Solution" If your problem is resolved.
