InDesign is the right tool for ebooks based on a browser (including videos and photos)

This my first post, so please bear with me

I am a teacher and I intend to write an eBook based on a browser (including videos and photos), accessible by my students, say, Safari or Chrome. Is InDesign the right tool for the job?

Thank you!

Probably not. It can create fixed EPUB3 of page layout files that can be found in the electronic book readers that support this standard. Currently, this includes iBooks (Mac OS X Maverick and iPad), readers of eBooks for Kobo and the plug-in on the browsers Chrome Readium. Support is growing and other platforms can support as well. But in general, InDesign does not create what you are looking for.

You could try to build a Web site in Adobe Muse for use in web browsers.

Is Adobe Digital Publishing Suite the right tool for us in the present? And we need the professional edition for this or the free version is also working for us?

Also a question about the payment of possible Professional Edition (€355 per month). We do not want to pay for a whole year, because at the moment we only have one customer who wants that. After the payment of a month, we can easily cancel the subscription?

    Thank you for the feedback!

    / Marco

You still have time to create a simple editing application, but it will have to be done via a subscription to creative cloud and it should be available on the app store.

Short I would recommend that you look in epub disposal fixed. Although not completely up to the features interactive DPS, there are actually some advantages and you can distribute the epub to download via a website.

You will need Adobe InDesign CC2014.1 which is available only by subscription to produce these ePub files.

  • Is Dreamweaver the right tool for the creation of an online catalog

I created a catalog in InDesign and exported in PDF format. I want to create a version with a display of page, zoom tools, navigation bar and pop = info when the cursor passes over the product to display the information. Is DreamWeaver the right tool to make the tthat?

    Yes and no.

If you understand html, css and javascript (and probably something like php and mysql) you could do with DW.

If you do not understand these notions, DW is not very useful unless the goal is raise your blood pressure and rip your hair.

DW assumes that you understand how to work with these basic languages. 'Learning DW' is a pretty steep climb, if you do not.

  • Facilitate the right tool for animated banners?

Is Adobe animate tool to use for the large animated banners? I work for a government agency and I want to get the idea of having animated banners that measure about 800 pixels by 900 pixels in size.

I have several years of experience as a Flash Designer. However, I realize that things have changed. What export type should I use these days to make these browser friendly animations?

Thanks for any advice that you can send my way.

Several large banners use CSS to achieve good performance. Animate using canvas, but modern machines had to face. If you could force you a bit on the frame rate, you should be able to get away with it.

Most of what you know about Flash animations will apply. Some filters do not work, and also the stream audio sync does not work. But otherwise, you should be able to take any old Flash animation and make it quickly be HTML5.

Createjs libraries are extra, but I think that there is the CDN servers for this, people of banner advertising often use. So if you have a small budget, like 40 k, 150 k, or whatever it is of createjs doesn't count against it. Everything goes well.

  • Beginner question: is to duplicate the right tool for the job?

    Screen Shot 2016-04-22 at 10.34.39 AM.png

I'm painting the left field dry to look like the lush field to the right using the clone stamp. Once I sample my region greener, if I increase the size of my brush to "paint" the biggest area that moves around, the anchor and he ended up sampling of a larger size. How can I choose an anchored sample of grass on the right side and then paint with a big brush that this increases the size of the sample or travel that I brush?

There are two sliders in the game with the Clone Stamp tool: making paint and who is sampling. You want to keep on eye on the cursor on the lush field, so that you don't move on the trees or dirt. You will find may be easier to uncheck aligned on the Options bar, because then you can let go Jack and reposition the cursor of sampling, as many times you need, without having to Alt/Opt click to set a new point sampling.

  • Where can I get the right drivers for Satellite Z930 - PT23LA - 01 009?

A little history: I recently bought a version of Win7 to a Z930 in Auckland from PB Tech shop. I've updated to a clean version of Win8 64-bit. My Win8 seems works ok but I noticed something strange in the Toshiba PC Health Monitor - apparently the Toshiba HDD/SSD Alert is not installed, so I don't understand not his iconic display in the health monitor (but the health monitor think my SSD is in "Good" shape - maybe it's reading the INTELLIGENT of my SSD interface, or maybe it's just saying 'Good' because the integrity monitor is apparently able to operate?)

I can easily find different versions of the Toshiba HDD/SSD Alert Utility in questionable Web sites - download, but I really prefer to get my Toshiba support drivers. Which leads to my question:

Where can I get the right drivers for PT23LA-01 009? NZ nor the webarea to Toshiba support have this model in their menus. The closest match seems to be

    http://www.MyToshiba.co.nz/support/computers/Ultrabook/satellite-z930/pt23la-01f00n/download?OS=30

There is probably not much difference between a PT23LA-01F and a PT23LA-01 P but it is a bit of concern to be download & install the drivers for a chip that is no my model...

    See you soon,.
    Clark

PS: http://forums.toshiba.com/t5/General-Features-Knowledge-Base/TOSHIBA-HDD-SSD-Alert/ta-p/347120 advise me the area downloads for Toshiba support. He also advises "not all utilities are available for each model and operating system. During the installation of utilities, install the TOSHIBA value added first. "Sigh... so maybe my problem is that I installed the Win8 drivers & utilities order when build my own-building a Win8 pass win7? Wouldn't surprise me in the slightest... but if this is the case are here all other dependencies in these built?

    > Where can I get the right drivers for PT23LA-01 009?

First series of Toshiba laptops (Australian, European, etc) is very similar to the other
Your model of laptop Australian Satellite Z930 * PT23LA * series is the same as the European model Satellite Z930 * PT23LE * series.

That's why the drivers, tools and utilities published for Satellite Z930 * PT23LE * series must be compatible with the Satellite Z930 * PT23LA * series.

To get all drivers for Satellite Z930 * PT23LE *, you should check this page:
    http://www.Toshiba.EU/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp?service=EU

There, you can get all win 8 - upgrade the drivers. Also the HDD/SSD Alert Utility v3.1.64.14

    Kind regards.

    Tony.

    Hi, Tony:

The difference in the models must be that yours has a videocard, AMD Radeon HD 3450 rather than use nVidia graphics on board.

So, this driver should work for you based on the hardware ID you have posted.

  • Newbie Question, Ripple, Roll, something else?  What is the right tool?

I learn Premiere Pro and struggling to find the right tool to use.  I have several short clips in an order and I want the Cup to the rhythm of the music of the time.  Is there a tool or the trim method I can use to adjust the end of clip and the beginning of the next clip, without affecting the start time of the first, or put an end to the second?  I hope that makes sense.  I have two clips, together they start to 1 sec, end to 5 dry and cut in 3 sec.  I want to pass the cup of 3 sec 4 sec and does not affect the beginning or the end of the two dry 1 and 5.  Thanks for any help!  I think I need to use the ripple or roll edit, but just not sure after having look at some tutorials and experimenting on my own.

    Thank you

Looks like you want the bearing Assembly. You can hold the CTRL key and move the mouse on the Assembly of the change by clip 1 and 2. the cursor must be red and have arrows pointing in both directions. Click and drag to change change it. This will change at the end of the clip 1, the beginning of the clip 2 (cut in 3 seconds in your example). but keep the beginning of the clip 1 and the end of the clip 2 and the duration of the two combined for your example of 5 seconds.   You can also use the trim edit mode, according to richard. Just hold the CTRL key to access the double red cursor arrows and then this time on Assembly changes. This opens the trim mode in the monitor and you can use the buttons in there to adjust the edict.

a ripple editing will be cut extend clip 1 and move the clip two and all the other clips continued to fill the void backwards or forwards to make room for the long pliers 1. where you want to clip two endpoint to stay such as 5 seconds, it won't work. Ripple will change the location and duration of the two clips, 5 seconds in your example. CTRL and the yellow slider about to edition is this training mode.

a regular edition trim does not move other clips, only the selected clip. However, it is not automatically expand or shrink the adjacent clip. leaving a space if the shrinkage.

  • How to type vertical text from the bottom up with the right orientation for a graph?

How to type vertical text from the bottom up with the right orientation for a graph?

Hello! Below, I'll demonstrate how to have vertical text in two different ways.

    Example 1:

    1. below, I have a graph and want to label the vertical axis.

Select the text tool, and then the Vertical text tool.

2 with the vertical Type tool, I tap on my vertical label.

3 with the move tool, then I can orient the text in a position desired, as shown in the examples below.

If this isn't the desired orientation of the vertical type you would like. I have the example 2 below.

    Example 2:

    1. After typing my text vertically with the Vertical Type tool (in example 1), I want to move to a horizontal position. I can go up to the options panel and select the icon "show/hide text orientation", surrounded by below. It will pass the text back and forth between vertical and horizontal.

2 after the passage of the text to be horizontal, I want to change the orientation of the text, so it is aligned with my vertical axis.  Go in Edit > transform > Rotate as shown below.

3 you want to can Rotate the text as indicated below.

4 text is not in the right position we want, so we have to move the text, as illustrated below. Press enter/return to perform the complete transformation.

    5. the text is shown below.

  • Is the best tool for the creation of a review with Notes/comments-Dreamweaver user site? CMS?

    Hi all

I am really keen to develop a site of online game and have a few questions of CMS/Wordpress/Dreamweaver, I hope that you all can help me with, I thank you in advance for your patience as I am new on the development of the site.

I think creating a review site which will involve write me about 100 customers of online game and then getting users to download their comments/suggestions, etc. Each of the reviews would be updated monthly with his stats, performance and other details. Each review contains a review of the text, the review video and various images and screenshots. Integrate user generated content will be an important factor.

I'm trying to confuse me with all the prep work round to ensure that I have the right tools and technology, that I need to succeed. A lot of people told me I should use Wordpress because of the nature of my site, or at least a combination of Wordpress and Dreamweaver - don't know how it works exactly. I don't want to be too dependent on Wordpress just because I want to be sure my site can be customized and cultivate and select advanted more value for visitors to my site. .. .i would like to have a members area only at some point in the near future.

Please see below for questions running in my head:

    1. do I need a separate CMS tool?... ... who may be best to consider the nature of my site?

    2. should I use Wordpress instead?... .or a combination of Wordpress and Dreamweaver? -Why should I use a combination of the two?

3 SEO is a factor important - does make a difference?

    4. my comments will need to be updated every month, so I will try to maximize the use of models, etc. I need to create a dynamic site in Dreamweaver or a CMS that will manage?

    5. what options are best to avoid as much as hand-coding

Thank for taking you the time to read this,... .any advice/guideance would be appreciated.

    Thank you

    Harps

Still a bit on the comment by John, WordPress sites actually pretty well on make Google providing your site contains a keyword rich, relevant and fresh content.  WP itself will be neither help nor hinder your ranking.  It's up to you to create good content, forcing the humans will be interested.

As for the future, I think that you are on solid ground.  WP has been around for a long time and continues to dominate the market of CMS open source.  There are 58 million sites on WordPress.com alone.  This includes not everybody who self-host WP on their own areas.  Give it whirl and see where it will lead.

  • HP pavilion 15-e034tx: how to choose the right RAM for laptop

How to choose the right RAM for my laptop (Pavilion 15-e034tx). I know I should buy DDR3 ram.

Are there other factors should I consider when buying one? I got 2 slots for ram, which od these combos are possible?

    1-4 + 4 GB
    2-4 GB + 8 GB
    3-8 GB + 8 GB

    Thank you

    From the Manual:

Two customer accessible/upgradable memory module slots

Support for dual channel DDR3L (1600 MHz)

Support 8192 MB RAM system in the following configurations:

    8192 MB (8192 MB × 1, × 4096 MB 2)

    Manual download link

See page 53 for instructions. Memory access is easy via the service Panel. This is the part number for the approved 4 HP concert module:

    4 GB (PC3L, 12800, 1600 MHz) 691740-001

    http://www.Amazon.com/HP-691740-001-4GB-1600MHz-PC3L-12800/DP/B00CI08FX4/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8 & qid = 1451655870 & SR = 8-2 & Keywords = 691740-001

A 8 GB module is listed in the manual, and it's a 3rd generation of processor i5 I suspect 2 x 8 = 16 concerts would work, but strictly following the manual your only option is to add a 4 GB for a total of 8. Most users really not more 8 GB and adding a second identical module will allow two-channel operation, so you should see a noticeable jump in the overall performance.
