• Licensing for the server on the site of DR

  Not 100% sure of my terminology as I am new to all this, please bear with me!

  At our headquarters, we have a server VMware ESXi 4.0.0 loner and we use vCenter and vSphere 4.0 license (2xCPU).

  So far so good.

  At our DR site, we run the free ESXi 4.0.0

  The recovery site is not a (live) "hot" site, apart from occasional (once or twice a year) tests where we restore from backups for testing and so on.

  We use Veeam backup software, and because their software does not allow direct restore to freedom of ESXi hosts, the restore process is two steps: (1) disk space backup restore temporary; then copy VM to ESXi disk files and start them

  I wonder if I can install my licenses for our live Webcam VMware server to the DR server, given that, apart from the occasional tests, they would never at the same time.

  It would go directly to the backup media to the ESXi host under license, the restore process, rather than the 2-step process.

  Q. What does VMware allow me to perform with my licenses for a DR scenario?

  I have discussed this issue with VMware.

  You can use the same license (no need to buy new) for the remote site if there is no load on ESX remote, and just waiting for if something happens.

  With Veeam, you can use the replication instead of restore backups.

  I've never had to buy a Windows DVD facility before so my questions may seem a bit Basic.

  I intend to buy a copy of 'Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate', full Version (PC DVD) from Amazon. (I think I should be clear of a counterfeit product, if I buy direct from Amazon).

  Am I right in thinking that if I buy this product so I can install it on several PC as long as I have installed it on more than one PC at a time?

  Really I intend to install first to my current PC, familiarize yourself with Windows 7 and then, finally, just abandon my old PC, buy a new and then install Windows 7 on this new PC. Is it possible for me to do it without breaking the terms of licenses for this product?

  Finally, (assuming I have reason to think that it is normal to do so) is there something I should do that I could not be aware of the transfer Windows 7 from my old PC to a new? I think I mean it's OK to me to erase the hard drive from the old PC before binning - and which supports Windows 7, having already been installed on this PC?

  As long as Windows 7 is installed on one PC at a time, Yes, you can uninstall it from the computer you install it 1st on and re - install on another PC.

• Question about license for upgrade of stand-alone LR6, mine says creative cloud

  Hi all

  I read in a forum that vmware server 1.0.3 is a free software. You just have to register on the vmware site to get the free license key. This free software was interrupted by vmware? I couldn't find the software in the download page. Now, when I try to get a free license I am not able to understand how I can get that. I am part of the site, but where in the site can I get a free license? Can anyone please shed any light in this regard?

  VMware Server has been abandoned for years. If you are looking for free products, take a look at VMware Player, or the free ESXi Hypervisor.

  You can upgrade the domain after you install wls 10.3 using quick start.
  When we migrated, we went from windows to linux. We have installed, created the field, servers managed, configured, etc from scratch. We have no problems "show-stopper".

  Yes, vCenter Server needs to be licensed separately (VMware also offers packaged essentials and acceleration kits). Since you already have the CPU licenses, you can either watch the "vCenter Server Foundation" license that allows to manage up to 3 guests or 'vCenter Server Standard' license without this limitation.

  Finally, what you say is not necessarily true about the upgrade. Yes, updates are normally included in the support budget, but more current owners of SOA Suite purchased by the Internet Application Server EE (OC4J). Running to 11g on OC4J is not an option, then they will have to migrate licenses of Weblogic Suite, which are more expensive. If you have purchased SOA 10 g recently with Weblogic Suite, you can freely move to 11g.

  Cannot open the e-mail.  I can connect on the MSN home page and when I right-click the outlook icon it shows the e-mail Inbox, but cannot access e-mail.  I just get this error

  My DB version is 11.2.0.3 and the Oracle eBusiness Suite version 12.1.3.

  1. we bought 100 NUP for DB. However, when I checked with the following query:

  Select * from dba_users where account_status = 'OPEN '.

  The list of users exceed 236 (Note its an ERP instance), where the number of users we have created by me is just 4-5. Others came to OPEN by default (including system, dbsnmp, sysman etc.).  They should be counted in the licenses that they are installed before users?

  2. I have observed that some users dba open are for modules that we do not use. Can they be locked safely? [For example.] IPD, user of the LEAGUE]

  3. Select * from fnd_user where End_date is NULL; give me a count of 69 users, which users created by us are about 20 and we bought licenses approximately 40.  We need to have licenses for the rest 29 as well?

  4. we realized that it might be necessary to add the virtual machine additional JAVA in oacore (now 2), we need to have separate licenses for this (oacore, oc4j, Association etc.)?

  I have tried to find some references in the meantime and will appreciate if you have some references of loans.
