Injection of strike to new Blackberry 10 API

JYL

Please can someone confirm that the Injection of strike is not possible on the new APIs, as if it were on the development in Java for the Blackberry OS 7?

Best regards

André Maricato.

Not yet, but it's on the roadmap of native SDK, see "screen Services.

  • Abondonment of BlackBerry specific APIs?

Howfar can I abandon the use of the API specific BlackBerry without losing the ability to write sophisticated applications?

The idea is to reduce the use of BlackBerry specifig API to be able to port the application to other devices JavaME, I know that it is possible to implement MIDlets for BlackBerry, also. But what keyfeature what I lose if I give up the BlackBerry API?

I had a look at the overview of the BlackBerry API. But I don't know if it should be used.

For example the digital rights management:

Instead of using net.rim.device.api.drm, I can use JSR 117 SATSA.

If I do not pay much attention to achieve a BlackBerry like look & feel of the application, I can make functionailites Wifi, USB, Bluetooth connections, works with the file system and so we without BlackBerry specific APIs?

NOTE: My application only works in a local network without using Internet and BlackBerry Enterprise Server and suchs things.

    Thank you
    EnochRoot

I understand your point of view, but what do you consider "other J2ME devices?

For example, a function is listed in a JSR doesn't mean that Blackberry or Android supports this feature without a need for porting. Especially when any form of networking is used, and certainly when it comes to the GUI.

Ideally, you can simply paste using Midlets, but don't ignore the importance of a good UI appearance. If the majority of people do not keep important quality of graphical interfaces, Linux would be the dominant operating system and iPhones would be not nearly as popular as now.

My preference is to develop a generic code base and then build the platform specific GUI and functions on top. It is best to take advantage of the features of the native platform.

Hi @Jenny7733! Welcome to the community of BlackBerry Support Forums!

You will need to perform an erasure of security on the device first before you can connect with a new BlackBerry ID credentials Please see: How to delete all data and applications from the smart phone BlackBerry with the optio security wipe...

Don't forget to make a backup because it will erase all your data. Good luck!

  • BlackBerry Smartphones new Blackberry "BOLD" will not be on

    Hello

I got two last week of new Blackberry "BOLD" for a couple of patterns here.  What I was thinking that it was the right thing to let them via a USB hub over the weekend to ensure a full first charge.  Today they turn on.  Rear left the battery out in both entities for about five minutes and put it in and even they will not be running.  The USB was powered by a UPS so power would have been clean.  Seems strange that both units have the same problem.

All possible suggestions would be appreciated.

    Thank you, Richard.

Try to open your Desktop Manager v4.3 or higher.

Go to "Application Loader" - the plug of the device when the second screen. (the com port selection)

Leave the battery out of the unit while u this. Give a few minutes and do you not see that it happens with pin device?

If this is not the case, try with battery?

If he is grateful to the PIN so be it, you will need to download the "BOLD" OS device on the site of carriers, it was sold to. Install in your Office Manager, and then repeat the steps above to push the software on the device...

  • New BlackBerry Smartphones Blackberry

I bought a new blackberry curve 8520 in a few weeks and I still have my previous curve 8520. I want to set up the app on the new world and I want to try to get all the old information was transferred to the new. is this possible?

Yes it is possible to transfer all of your data, such as emails, contacts, applications, etc.

Everything you have to do is connect your old device during execution (bb desktop software) and then click the (peripheral) found in the upper left corner of the application and then click on change of terminal and follow the instructions.

It backs up all data from your previous device and you will be asked of the unplug it and connect a new one to restore all your data that is quite simple and even bbm contacts will be restored too .

BB software is available on your CD to the device, or you can get the blackberry a site shape more up-to-date.

If I helped you, like him.

Hello and welcome to the community!

To reinstall your applications, see this KB:

If your old device ID BB, then you must connect to your new BB using this same ID of BB.

  • Replacement of BB Phone new blackBerry Smartphones

I had some, but not a lot of Apps on my BB lost/stolen.  Can they be transferred to new BB but how?  Maybe it's too late or I activated my BB incorrectly.  Thanks Dave

    Hi Dave,.

Assuming that you bought your applications via App World, when you receive your new BlackBerry, you can just redownload the App World as long as you use the same ID BlackBerry to connect. Download again them, go to My World and then edit the list of applications to uninstalled. You will find then all your previously purchased/installed apps, available for redownload. If you bought them through a different service, like Mobihand, you will need to submit a request to change the PIN code, but once you do this, you can re-download them as well.

In addition, if you do not already made, make sure that you make your BlackBerry as lost/stolen Bell so that they can cancel the service, etc. from your old device.

    I hope this info helps!
