Inquery on Kiss X7i (Rebel T5i)

I would like to take this opportunity to ask you, how can I turn the timer each time bulb that I capture any normal photo.

This bulb only flashes when the timer is set. It counts down so that people prepare for shooting.

You can set the timer of 2 seconds and it would shorten the time, but that's all you could do.

Why do you want it flashes when you take a picture of non-retardateur?

What is the difference in an EOS Rebel T5 and and EOS Rebel T5i

A little. The "i" suffix is added to the models who are or have been at the top of the line of rebels when they were introduced. Models without the "i" suffix to the end intended to be more affordable and lower line (but frankly any SLR is a nice camera. ("Entry level" for a digital SLR is always very nice.)

The T5i has an articulated touchscreen LCD display, all nine autofocus points are "cross-type", it has a faster continuous shooting speed and several other interesting features. The image sensor, however, is largely the same.

Later in the line of rebels is T6i T6s. The 's' has a bill setting dial on the back and an LCD screen on top of the camera. T6i/s have a sensor improved, better ISO, more autofocus points more have been added to the development system. It is the most important upgrade to a new Rebel series body in several years. Canon tends to introduce a new body of rebels about once a year. Sometimes the differences from previous models are small, but this time, the differences are more significant.

  • Rebel t5i raw + jpeg - raw files not saved on sd card

I shot several pictures with the cam in Raw + jpeg setting. From sd card and inserted into the pc sd reader. Only did jpeg - no raw files.

Same results with win 8.1 and win 7. I see a file 'misc', but not of .cr2 files.

Thanks for the reply, Robert. I usually have the ability to view the files on the media before you import it and, in doing so, I see

.jpg and .misc but no .cr2 - which is the format for the raw files from canon. I don't have Lightroom but I use the ACR function in Photoshop Elements (version 8,10,11,12). Maybe I should go back to the camera and reset my preferences.

  • New T5i w / 18mm to 135mm lens Pop Up flash question?

    Hi all:

I just got my new T5i rebel with the 18mm to 135 mm lens. I use a filter UV Polaroid and lens hood EW-73 b. I take excellent photos, but I wonder if it is having a problem.

My problem is the sometimes the flash will pop up and flash in full sun. It can be the focal distance at the time. The T4i there this problem or is it a problem?

Canon SureShot 5; New on DSRL rebel T5i

    Hi hsbn:

Tthank you for the answer. In fact, I was in the landscape or fully automatic firing Mode. One of the shots I was in one of the two formentioned mode, at 135 mm with a white wall on my left. In another shot, I took another shot in the open landscape and the flash popped up. I'll try again this weekend and try the different modes and I get results. And thank you, I have always appreciated the assistance.

  • Canon t5I - please help with what memory cards to use - was sold a UHS 700 x that says 120 MB/sec!

EXACTLY what the memory card should I use in a new Canon Rebel T5i - there are 'TOO MANY TIPS'!

I have a SanDisk I was going to use who says SDHC - UHS-1 16 GB up to 80 MB/sec 533 x.  I have another who said professional UHS 700 X - Ultra HD 4 K - 120 b/sec!   I DO NOT pull any clip or RAW... just regular shots, family, moving animals, jpegs.

Can I use those who say 40-45 MG/S?  You can use a card of memory TOO QUICKLY and it can DAMAGE your camera, if you do?  I have a lot to learn for sure.  Thank you.

SDHC 16 GB is fine for your use.

More fast/more high capacity card will not damage the camera.

  • Oldtimer new t5i difficulty backlit

Most of my shots are birds. With my old manual 35 mm slr, I opened the fstops by two notches for a slight overexposure and voila no more black birds or detailless aircraft.  With my new fandangled digital rebel t5i looks like I will have great difficulty to overcome the software genius.  I need to a mode where I can PRESET a framework of overexposure with or without flash as a preset mode or something.  Software 'average' backlight compensation is a bit useless because of the extreme contrast of shooting in the sky.  I can this preset without the software to compensate by increasing the shutter speed and the basically same old same old blue background and the black bird.  Flash is good close-up, but most of my choices are out of reach.  Yes, I have read the manual back, it's like an advertisement for the drugs, 2 lines of info and 2 pages of updates in custody.  Help before I go e - bay on this amazing little rubicks cube of a camera.

The camera has covered you.  You want to use "Exposure Compensation".

    See this: http://kbsupport.cusa.canon.com/system/selfservice.controller?CONFIGURATION=1011&PARTITION_ID=1&secu...

As long as you are in one of the "creative area" (where you control the shooting) mode... P, Av, or Tv, then you can hold down the button "Av + /-' on the back of the camera while turning the wheel before (main wheel) left or right to increase or decrease the exposure.

This tells the computer to meter... but deliberately add or decrease exposure.    Each "click" (or smal increment on the scale, you can see in the viewfinder) is 1/3 of a stop.  Two 'clicks' would be + 2/3rds of a stop overexposed.

Remember zero back out when you're done shooting or you'll wonder why the rest of your shots are over-exposed.

    Good luck!

  • T5i - save videos directly on the hard drive of the PC?

Hello world. I am new to using cameras and have recently bought my first, a Canon Rebel T5i.

I'm starting to use it to record videos of talking head and it works fine. I'm not having any difficulty using it, but I'd rather recorded video, she writes directly to the hard drive of my PC, and not his flash drive.

Is it possible to get there?

I'm looking for in the instruction book and tried to find the answer on YouTube, but made no progress.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you

    Buck

    Hi Buckspub,

When you use the EOS utility, provided with your camera, shooting distance mode, it is not designed to record movies on your computer in real time.  In most cases, you will receive a pop-up window prompting you to save your data remains on your computer.

  • T5i Image through viewfinder review?

I just upgraded to an EOS Rebel T5i (my old camera was a SX20 IS).  Well I'm going through the manual, I was not able to find the answer to several questions.   This is one of them - I apologize upfront for the newbie questions

I used to look through the viewfinder rather than on the LCD when I take pictures.

My settings: review of Image = 2 seconds; Mode selector = a (Auto Intelligent scene)

Problem: When I take a picture, I expect to see the photo image was taken just two seconds.  However, this does not happen.  (If I take the picture using the LCD screen, I get the second two image.)

QUESTION: Is there a way to do a review of the image in the viewfinder after you take a picture?

The image of the review won't be visible in the viewfinder (at least not on any Canon I never used). But you should see it on the screen, no matter how you took the photo. IIRC, the T5i has a readable screen. Of course you won't see the image if the surface of the screen is folded against the back of the unit. (But you already knew that!)

  • T5i Autofocus viewfinder seems to be turned off

I recently bought a rebel t5i, and I have a problem with the autofocus of the viewfinder.  This is particularly evident with a fast lens, like the EF 50 mm f/1.4 just to buy for video work.

If I have auto focus in the viewfinder (phase detection) with a half-press of the shutter button, it locks focus quickly, but the resulting picture is very soft and definitely fuzzy when enlarged on the LCD screen.  If I put the camera in mode live view and touch the LCD (contrast) to take the picture, it's boring.

I'm checking the update with a contrasty object, from the AF point selected in the viewfinder (red dot).

I tried a few other lenses (borrowed) and get the same result: EF 70-200 f/2.8 L, EF 100 mm f/2.8 L macro, etc.

It makes no difference if I use the taking in charge or get up to 1/250 shutter speed or more.

Any ideas?  I would return the camera?  Is this something that can be adjusted?

You seems to know how to test the focus of a camera.

Since you have tested with several lenses and in different modes, the possibility of the problem is with the camera and not your 50 1.4. Return it if you can and bought another. If not, send it to Canon for repair under warranty.

  • Canon t5i, 50mm f1.4 and 85mm f1.8?

Hey guys im new SLR digital. I recently bought my Canon Rebel t5i with the 18-135mm lens. Now, I want to upgrade a little to take pictures of family, etc.. I don't have to buy the 50mm f1.4 or the 85mm 1.8 Please help.

I think you'll like both... a 29mm lens provides a 'normal' angle of view (neither wide nor TV)... so the two are a bit in the TV category.  The 85mm will be closer to the point where you need to go back further to frame a shot and for use indoors, it may be narrower than what you want.  Both offer a very nice quality to the blurred background.

A 85mm will provide liked blur the same... opening value but the 50mm will be a little more versatile for indoor use (since you do not going back quite so far in order to frame the shot.)

You can go to pixelpeeper.com to draw the sample images (they index Flickr images as long as the image has EXIF data camera & lens in there).

You could also rent to see than what you prefer.

  • Change of name of the owner in EOS 5 d camera

I need to change the name of the owner in my trusty EOS 5 d.  If I understand correctly, this is possible with the Canon EOS Utility.  (Change the name of the owner of the camera allows me to add the name of the author, also, in the case where an image is processed without adding all the valuable metadata.)

I am currently using EOS Utility version 2.13.10.  I see my EOS 5 d MKII camera with no problem, and I can change the owner of camera information.

Unfortunately, I do not see my 5 d in the EOS Utility.  I use a Mac Book Pro running OS 10.6.8.

I can, however, pull captive in Capture One, but not of Adobe Lightroom. We are all aware of the many combinations of cameras and software applications and their compatibility - I was hunting this for years.

So... Does EOS Utility 2.13.10 version does NOT work with a Canon EOS 5 d? What I have to revert to a previous version to make it work?

    Thank you.
