  I tried a long time ago and didn't, but I would try again.

  I've got about seven pages of intro to chapter in my book.  Each of them uses a Master Page that has the title of my book and the page number at the bottom.

  But in each case, I added a content text and background color, and background color covers the number of title and page book down.  I see again the page number and the title, but they are not separate.

  Is there an easy way to keep whatever it is, but have the title and the page number appear ' on top ' (without getting rid of the background color)?

  On your master page, make a new layer and move it to the top of the palette layers. Put your page numbering and title on this layer and then lock the layer so nothing else can be put there.

  I am working on a set of maritime documents - Pick and Pack Slip briefs. RTF model has 2 sections for the same group of data (delivery). The waybill is a customer oriented document and sheet of choice is used in the warehouse to fulfill the order. The intention is to print the slip to pick and pack slip together, while the selector may include the packing slip in the package that is shipped. I want that each air waybill to start its page number to 1, but it always starts at the current page number - i.e. If the pick slip is 2 pages long, the leaf pack starts at 3. I tried to use the page number of the RTF/MS Word formatting, but it doesn't seem to work? Is there a way to reset the page number for a new RTF section?

  I must be missing something simple.

  I don't have this problem with the desktop version of my muse page that the tablet version.

  As you can see with the attached images. I have created a master and set the page size to my needs.

  When you look at the layout pages, they are all long as the master. They scroll to the footer of each page.

  How can I specify to stop at the foot of the page for each page?

  I am a teacher and I attributed to my students the printable version of a book. I read the book in ibooks and now have to find all my quotes highlight page numbers in the printed version. Is it possible to do this?

  I think all you can do is to compare the total number of pages in both versions and apply the appropriate for your quote numbers percentage.

• Problem with the implementation of the page number in the BATCH and LOF

  I did a lot of books with table of contents, the LOT and LOF all work fine.  They look all pretty normal:

  Table 123 - table... name < page number >

  or

  Figure 123 - name Figure... < page number >

  But now I have a case where the «...» ' is not the case, and the <>page number is just crushed against the table name without a space between the name and the page number.  This happens only to the BATCH and LOF.  The table of contents looks very good.

  I guess it's something in the Pages of reference that I messed up, but I can't understand what happened so I can fix it.

  Any ideas?

  FOUND!  Thanks Bob for pointing me in the right direction.  It was exactly this tab stop setting.  The editor is in Europe (narrow pages).  So, while our records (with the size of the American page) and their corresponding files, I found that the framework does not KNOW a tab stop that pushes the text beyond the right margin.  When I reduced the tab stop it as magically started working.

  The silence of the tab stop ignorant was the confusing part.  He was there when you looked into the source files, it just never appeared in the finished product, and there is NOTHING to indicate why!

  Since you haven't posted any code, I guess that you have a CSS rule in your style sheet main governing the footer.

  You cannot add a margin-top to this rule because it would affect the footers on ALL your pages.

  I suggested a styleblock only on the contact page which would negate the main style sheet on the contact page

  Is there a solution to the table of contents of style then the page number never ends on the left side? Everything works fine if the topics listed in the TOC spans on one or more lines.

  But if the listed topic ends exactly at the end of a line (in the table of contents), the page number appears on the left side of the next line. (I have a ^ t between the entrance and the number in the table of contents style.) If a single word in flows in the line below, the table of contents correctly adds the... (dotted) and place the pagenumber to the right.

  Can I modify the paragraph Style from table of contents or TOC Style so that the number is right-aligned, even if there is no prior entry (which is on the line above).

  I have a form with pages having engineered.  JS for spawning exception works very well.  However, a text field on model is driving me crazy.  I wish that this field ("CaseNum") to dynamically display the page number, given that the page number also matches the file number.  On templage ("getcase"), I can calculate the value for CaseNum using custom script calc (event.value = this. PageNum).  But it does not work because each page having spawned Gets the same value (that is to say, what is the latest issue of the page generated). I also tried the JS below, using P0.getcase.CaseNum as the field on the model in which I wish the page number/box number to display:

• text too close to page number in the table of contents

  Most of the time I can take care of unattractive line breaks in the table of contents by putting in the nonbreaking spaces in a paragraph.

  However, sometimes I have a situation where a table of contents entry text is too close to the page number right. The text is so close to the page number as in some not case of presentation of points of the leader, or show only one or two points of leader.

  Writing and its adjustment page number on one line, then putting in the nonbreaking spaces won't solve the problem. I could put in a soft return (SHIFT-ENTER) in the table of contents entry to force a line break, but it is not effective because I have to put in the soft return manually every time the table of contents are updated.

  If someone has a tip on how to effectively manage this problem, I would like to know about it.

  Some time ago, someone posted a solution to make the line nice breaks in the index entries. It's setting values of the minimum and maximum word spacing in the paragraph Designer. The values validated it did not worked for me, so I played a little with it and use the following syntax:

  In the paragraph format for table of contents entry, set the maximum word spacing of 325% and oral minimum spacing to 275% and the optimal spacing to 100%. Note the fact that the optimum is NOT between the minimum and maximum values. I don't know the algorithm that Frame uses to decide where the line break, but I'm guessing he first decides to break the line to fill the max and min requires, breaks the line, but changes the spacing back 100%, which is what you want then, in other words, we don't want large spaces.

  The causes of values above a line break about an inch or two to the right margin. If you want to close, try 225 percent and 175 percent. I found that over these two issues of line breaks occur further from the right margin.

  This method does not have to enter the manual line breaks and gives a nice line break, even for those rows that could fit on a single line.

• Is it possible to pdf content that spreads and have the page number on the two-page spread?

  Is it possible to PDF content chemically and have page numbers on the two pages of the spread? If for example spread 1 would be page 1 and 2 but would be only considered as page 1. Is is possible to change it to be page 1 and 2 and still a gap?

  The way to do this is to display the pdf as unique pages and then open Acrobat to change the initial display of the document settings. (There are in the file properties). Make the change, close and save the document, and then when reopen you it, you will see as spreads, but the search for the page will follow your InDesign page numbers.
