Inspiron 11-3147 A09 bios update - slow post

Has anyone else who noticed after the bios update to your 11-3147 A09 she way takes longer to start? It takes on average 15 seconds to look at the logo Dell before Windows 10 begins to start. I installed an SSD drive once it arrives at the point of the operating system to start it is fast as lightning... just the bios post seems unusually slow. I will try to reinstall the previous bios to confirm. I wonder if anyone has had this happen also. I also have an 11-3148 and there was an update of the bios for it the same day. It has not affected there startup speed at all and in fact seemed to deal with "plugged not supported" she had.

I use a Samsung Evo 850 256 GB.

Here is an update of this strange story: yesterday, I started the bios A07. BIOS went all very well, but then can't start windows. It is not my drive. He does it in the bios but not during the post apparently. All start-up parameters and the reader look the same as they were before. Tried a 10 repair facility that has actually worked for me this time (before I only got failures for some reason any). It ends and gives me a file of the application log, as he killed in the process. Mostly just the Apps from Dell that is not a big deal. Rebooted and once more start times are nice and fast as I hoped. And that's not all folks! On top of that, he now sleeps properly instead of stopping just as I was whining in my last post. Weird to say the least. It was my last ditch effort. If it didn't I was going to return the dreaded 8.1. Used all night because I normally and it works perfectly. The only thing I noticed mention, is that the battery does not charge of 100% which is what fixed the update to bios A09. No biggie. It says 99% and I know that it is fully charged. It really makes me wonder how the guys at Dell discover stuff before it was dismissed. Seems that every type of computer that is working for my company is in the same way... a correction of a bug but neglect to check if the patch touched anything else and walk.

  • Inspiron One 2320 A10 BIOS update is blocked

I'm trying to update the BIOS on my Inspiron One 2320 after replacing the hard drive. It worked fine except the fan was running full speed constantly, even after a boot after being closed overnight - so no question of real heat. Advance Google search for BIOS update being a solution to the problem of fan went wild.

    So...

I put the file A10.exe on a bootable USB key, rebooted and ran the file. Everything was going well until I came to this screen:

    =============================

    ITE Flash Utility Version: 1.0

    =============================

And it's been sitting here just like that for a few hours now. I'm afraid to do something or to restart. I am wayyyy out of warranty, so I'm on my own.

    Help?

You could try erasing BIOS by removing the battery motherboard button and press / hold the power button for about 30 seconds before reinstalling the battery. Check the Manual and follow the instructions carefully to remove/install the battery.

If the battery is more of ~ 2-3 years old, this could be a good idea to install a new, so you don't have to replace it again, at least not for a long time (er).

Are how far out of warranty you? If I remember correctly, Dell had a policy to replace a motherboard - once and only once - if it doesn't have a BIOS update within six months of the end of the warranty. Do not know if that still stands...

So if does not help clear BIOS by pulling on the battery, you can contact Support to see if this policy is always available.

  • Inspiron 11 3147 - service of wake-up problem

    Hello!

I bought a new Dell Inspiron 11 3147. After updating BIOS and windows 10 later, I found a problem. When the system goes to sleep - no matter if its done by inactivity, closing of the device or manually, it will not wake up. When I press the power button pc farm tours (I mean for this) but the screen is blank and the only way to make it work at this point is hard off by holding the power button and turning it back on. I tried many things - reinstalling drivers (by windows update and dell support), power off hybrid sleep, w10 quick launch, uninstalling some software, etc.  Nothing has worked. My guess is that the new BIOS is broken. Anyone has any ideas on this problem or dates update? Thanks in advance!

I had the sam problem since the supposed 'upgrade' to BIOS A09.  Dell refuses to acknowledge that they have created this problem.  While I was too lazy to do it again, I might have to go back to A07.  Others have posted elsewhere that this will cause a BSOD, but you can get into windows repair safe mode and then start normally

  • nVidia Geforce GT 650 M NOT DETECTED on Inspiron 17R SE 7720 after update BIOS A11

    Hello world

A week ago I did some updates on my Inspiron 17R SE 7720 including Bios Update to the version of the A11. Unfortunately, after this update I realized that the nVidia Geforce GT 650 M graphics card had disappeared from my system.

I read other posts and people who have experienced this problem suggested the re-installation of the bios would solve the problem, but in my case, it didn't.

Also, I installed the new version BIOS A12 and A13 versions but non of these have solved this problem.

Also reinstalled windows do not either fix as suggested by others in other posts.

I also ran the diagnostics on the computer from the bios and card does not appear there either, like the nVidia Geforce GT 650 M graphics card has not been installed on the system.

Finally I run a version of Ubuntu on my Inspiron 17R SE 7720 and run a system check and or the card is detected, just the Intel HD Graphics 4000 is detected under windows or linux.

Please someone Dell help us solve this problem, because it certainly is a BIOS PROBLEM.

If you're among the unlucky ones like me this saw has disappeared from the map of nVidia Geforce GT 650 M graphics card in your system, please share your experience with me.

    Thanks for your replies.

  • Satellite S500-10F - slowed down and need BIOS update

Hello, I would like to know if anyone can help.

I work for a Borough Council IT Department, so it is quite safe to say that I know a fair bit on THIS and the side material things. We had an about 12 laptops Toshiba Satellite S500 delivered, 11 x S500 - 11 c and 1 x S500-10F. As we do not yet support windows 7 so he must rebuild in Windows XP, install the drivers etc, and send them to schools.

All S500 - 11 c were built and work without any problem at all. The only difference I see is that the model 10F doesn't have bluetooth so that the model 11 c. Model 10F take image ghost, created from the 11 c, but he likes to be restart every 5 minutes approximately and is extremely slow.

So I rebuilt the model 10F using our licenses CD XP SP3 Microsoft and started to install drivers etc. When I installed the software of card reader Ricoh the laptop again slowed down (about 5 minutes to start Windows). I used to have a similar problem with a model on the A300 range and I've updated the BIOS which cured the problem. I downloaded the one and only BIOS update on the Toshiba site for the S500 and when I want intsaller, he returned with a message that says "this computer is is not supported.

If someone at Toshiba can tell me where I can get an update of the BIOS that works for my S500-10F or indeed why my system slowed down to a snails pace after having installed the Ricoh card reader software I would be very grateful. I removed the software and now and disabled without success card reader devices.

    Thank you very much

    Warren Poole

I can see for this Satellite Pro model 2 drivers are available. The second is O2Micro controller version 1.1.4.207 card reader.

  • Satellite A100-TA7 hangs at POST after BIOS update

Kind of tech swavy, I know that my chances are very low to solve this but this is.

I decided to update the BIOS on my laptop Toshiba Satellite A100-TA7(PSAA8C-TA702C) to the latest version available (6.00).

I did it because I've heard of people have better luck doing their job of FN keys on linux with the latest BIOS.
The installation is completed normally (went through all the steps, wrote to all 21 blocks) without any error, but after the reboot, I noticed that it is now displayed at the Toshiba logo screen.

The blue progress bar moves twice but got caught then about 1/3 of the way through.
To see how bad the damage was, I Press esc at the beginning of the POST and saw that it gives me the right Version of the BIOS (6.00).

He also told me that "no TPM or TPM has problem" and "2039 M RAM Passed system."
It then displays the message "Press to enter SETUP" (which makes the message disappears, but otherwise doesn't do anything.

If I press f2 during the Toshiba logo screen, it replaces the message at the bottom with "Please wait" and nothing happens even after an hour of waiting.
(Which makes sense, because before the bar blue everything would load before entering the CMOS settings). The thing is that the BIOS is not really "freeze", it gets stuck just at a specific place (I know because I can press F2 even after an hour of waiting and the laptop meets it by displaying "Please Wait".)

Someone at - it no more things I could try? Thank you

    > I decided to update the BIOS on my laptop Toshiba Satellite A100-TA7 (PSAA8C-TA702C) to the latest version available (6.00).
I wonder about your BIOS version that I know, that the laptop series is designed for the Canadian market. It s a Canadian series and the BIOS or drivers should be downloaded from the Canadian site of Toshiba!
Bad BIOS could cause issues like this it describes your message above!

    > I did it because I've heard of people have better luck doing their job of FN keys on Linux with the latest BIOS.
Keys FN Toshiba need driver Toshiba and it turns out that Toshiba driver pages don t offer the drivers for Linux distributions, so I put t believe in the story spread by any people.

    I don t want to write a long story, so I would cut this now;
Is that something was happening during the BIOS update process.
Either you have used a procedure to update the BIOS or wring wrong and so the laptop can not pass the MESSAGE

You will need to contact the local ASP to solve this problem, maybe you're a lucky guy and the technician should Flash the ROM module but in the worst cases, your motherboard is damage and must be replaced. :(

  • Dell Inspiron 15R 5520 BIOS UPDATE

    Hello

I am updating a BIOS on a Dell Inspiron 15R 5520 using a DOS environment.  I downloaded the update to the BIOS of the support Web site of Dell, which is 5520A14.exe, and placed on a bootable USB flash drive using the Dell Diagnostics Deployment Package.

When I run 5520A14.exe, once I started the system it just comes up saying 'Test' and does not run in the BIOS update utility.  I thought that maybe the executable may be corrupted, so I downloaded again and still got the same problem.

I also tried to download the executable file for review 13, who did the same.

Please advise me on my next course of action.

Installation from a Windows 8 environment is not an option.

    Thanks for the help.

You will need to prepare a flashdrive bootable Windows - BIOS can not be flashed from a DOS environment.

  • Re: Satellite X 200 - 20F - slow pace after BIOS update

    Hello!

    I have a Satellite X 200 - 20F bought about 4 years ago. I changed the bios 2.70 recently and I had a problem when I play games:
The performance of the laptop suddenly decrease after a few minutes of play. For example, when I play Fable 3 + or + + Duke Nukem Forever + the framrate goes to 10-15 fps of 40-50 fps. I need to restart the game to correct this, but even that, the problem come back...

I used version 1.40 BIOS and no problem.

    What should I do?
    You have one advise?

    Thanks in advance,
    Direct them best.

    Hi Crowzer,

I m wondering that you did a BIOS update if you didn't have any problems before

I can only imagine that a BIOS setting is different now. So I recommend to load the default settings in the BIOS, then save & exit.

Try also to update your display driver. You can find the latest version on the official page of Toshiba also.

  • Dell Inspiron 11 3147 battery "Do not load"

This new Dell Inspiron 11 3147 just arrived today.

The power adapter is "connected", but the battery is "not supported."

I looked everywhere for help for this, the Dell Diagnostics found no problem and I've struggled to get a hold of customer service. The idea most commonly recommended is to uninstall and reinstall the driver ACPI Microsoft NER method exactly, what I did.

The only thing I have not messed with is the battery itself, which does not seem to be accessible without damaging the back, which is screwed and secure well.

No idea what is the problem?

    Update from my post below:

A day later, after the battery fully charged and all was fine, I come back and it's back to the message "plugged in, not charging." I could see if flashing the bios and rebooting will work again.

My original post on December 8, 2014:

I had this problem until this morning. In short, I have updated the bios to Version A03, A03 (released December 2, 2014). Before that, I did all the googling and messing everything without success. Here's what to do:

    1. run "my Dell. You can access it by type Ctrl-Esc and then type in "My Dell" and clicking on the "My Dell" icon that appears.

    2. click on the Green Panel "Drivers and updates. This should open a window for product support browser.

    3. scroll down under article which said that "these drivers matching your selections" and click on the arrow next to "Bios".

    4. click on 'Download file '. Please close all applications and run the file and follow the prompts. It will restart for you at the end and the problem should be solved.

    Good luck!

How can I flasch BIOS with other versions,
    His big problem to work

Thank you and I hope you can help me...

    Hello

The version of the BIOS should be mentioned in the BIOS settings.
Turn on the device, press F2 and verify the version here.

Also I recommend the settings of the BIOS back to default settings.
In the BIOS settings, you will need to press F9 to get the default value. Then save the changes and exit the BIOS.
Restart the machine and check how many processes are running in the context of the BONE.

I recommend disabling of certain non-essential processes in msconfig.
There, you can go to the Startup tab and could uncheck the unnecessary process.

    Hello

I visited the European driver of Toshiba page and found the latest version of BIOS that is 2, 50 - WIN.
    Do you use it?

The BIOS can be updated only run under windows! That's why I m surprised that you were able to update the BIOS, the Linux operating system running on this computer.

Try to download the most recent BIOS version and update as described on the help page of the BIOS update.

    Hey guys and girls,

I have some problems after the update of the bios. Before the update my laptop has been the scene of much smoother and everything was fine and dandy until Tempro told me to update my bios. The problem is that after the update, the temperature seems to be considerably higher as usual when I play the game (I am a gamer) and also all the games I play seems to be much slower than before (lower, gal frame rate). Before the update I could play Dragon Age Origins with 1366 x 768 with 4 x anti-aliasing and the only one that I could get the same performance with the graphic parameter above is on 800 x 600. Now, it is certainly a big problem for someone who is a graphics junkie when it comes to games.

    * What do you think I should do? *

    A. downgrade my bios for when I bought everything first? (I don't know what version of bios is if anyone knows the stock bios?)
    B. perform HARD drive recovery?
    C. clean install of Windows 7 64-bit?
