Inspiron 15R does - makes clicking noise

Hello - I have an Inspiron 15R (2 years). Photos uploaded yesterday; Today, it lights. I am getting a rattling sound CLICK, click, click, click... when I turn the power on. Tried with and without the battery in the power cord and watched on the DELL site but no answers. The door drive opens and closes and the power will stop down (the noise stops).  Your ideas will be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Nothing other than replacing a motherboard or screen is a flat rate of $159 but will include installation only - recovery of your files on the old drive would not be included.

Repair on Dell warranty:

If the system still recognizes the drive, you can try to mount it in an external enclosure and see if you can read all the data.  If the system does not recognize the drive, professional data recovery will be necessary.  That starts at about $600 for an attempt to base and can reach into the thousands depending on the amount of data is and how much damage has been done on the disc.

    Hello, can someone please help?

I think my laptop is in trouble, the hard disk (or I think it's the hard drive) is do a lot of clicking noises and my battery life is running down when the adapter is connected. It seems that run down when the drive made those rattling. When the power mode is energy-saving sometimes stops clicking and the battery life fills up again, but recently its been doing even in power saving mode.

I'm moving all my files on an external hard drive, even though I have a lot of stuff on my lap top. I can't afford a new laptop

    Can someone help me please?

    Thank you

    Hey Buddy,

How to help you without knowing your model mobile exact?

Generally if the HARD drive makes clicking noises it s time to replace. Backup to an external drive has been a very good idea.

And how you can lose the life of the battery if the AC adapter is plugged? I put t understand it.

  • 2335dn does not turn on and make clicking noise

I have a 2335dn printer that does not turn on and makes a clicking noise up through the document feeder.  FYI, the scanner lock is not locked either.  The display does not illuminate, nor the printer begins to warm.  It is simply a constant clicking noise.  I don't know if there is an internal power supply or if she has been shot.  Y at - it may be a loose connection where the cable connects the document feeder at the bottom?  Appreciate any comment.

    Thank you

    Chris

OK, so I opened up the printer and found a bad capacitor on the power supply.  After replacing the capacitor all starts perfectly.

  • Satellite P500 - fan too loud and makes clicking noises

I recently bought a Toshiba P500 - in late October / early November, and recently the hard drive continuously flashes when there are noises rattling from the laptop (even if im not doing anything)

Also my fan will get random REALLY loud but usually run mediumly hard all the time, I rarely hear really calm even when I start it first to the top and nothing is running

The laptop itself is on my desk and high upward so that the fan is fully ventilated, as the surface is regularly wiped away (about twice per week)

    Hello

If the clicks or hit its happening with disk HARD high use and sounds like a light tap with a light hammer on wood then this is your HARD drive and not necessarily fan.
Fans usually have a hummimg and more regular sund whining when not.

First thing I would do is take you a laptop somewhere cool temperature and prepare to back up the files on your HARD drive if you have not already.
Second thing, it is to install a utility that will allow you to analyze the indicators SMART for your HDD (s) - mine has 2 drives x 500 GB, that should tell you if the HARD drive it's about to die.
There is also a diagnostic utility called PC Diagnostic tool available via all Prorams/TOSHIBA/utilities if you have it installed.

I would look then by contacting your local Toshiba support center to get your macine checked and covered in any warranty replaced elements.

  • Dell Inspiron 15R 15 (5521, end 2012)-clicking noise, no boot, no post office, no display

    Hi all

I thought I'd ask a bit before decide me on this laptop motherboard is shot.

This is an Inspiron 15R (5521, end of 2012), Intel Pentium processor i3 4 GB RAM, 500 GB HD, Windows 7.

When I turn it on, there is no display - no Dell logo - not anything. I see a power led on the front and hear the sound of the CD ROM drive Then I heard a continuous continuous noise dry (do not beep) (ish) Center of the laptop. I removed the battery, RAM, and hard disk - trying to start only the AC adapter (minus the RAM and HD) - always gets the same results. I can't run any diagnostic because it isn't even came close to boot or POST. I also - just to be complete, connected to an external monitor - nothing there either.

I saw a reference to which is a bit any in the graphics chip - but no doubt that calls for the replacement of the main card anyway - correct?

Thanks for any info you can give me.

Good job on troubleshooting, looks like a problem with the system board, you must replace it.

  • Dell Inspiron 15r white noise 5537 - helmet

    Hello

A week ago I bought an Inspiron 15r 5537 brand new, and I just for the first time used with the laptop headphone. However, whenever I tried to use the headset with the mobile there is a significant amount of white noise emitted by the helmet (in a volume which is sufficient to divert the attention of audio playback).

White noise starts when the audio is released and continues even when the audio is paused (or ends), but cut abruptly from 5 to 10 seconds after the end of the audio...

Laptops have the speakers don't emit white noise: when my headphones are plugged in fact that the problem occurs.

    Any help would be appreciated?

    See you soon,.

    Scott.

P.S., Computers are not particularly my area of expertise, so no simple statement would be ideal for my brain to benet...

Scott, it seems to be a problem with this model. Here is the main thread where the owners have discussed the issue for 6 months without any resolution. Some say that you use the Windows driver audio native gets rid of the noise, but others say that it does not help. If you want to install the native driver, this is one of the ways to do this:

    1. open Device Manager (type devmgmt.msc in the start search box and press ENTER) and then right-click on "Realtek High Definition Audio" in the sound... Category of controllers.

2 Select this option to "Update driver software". [This screen shot is of a different model that IDT audio - yours will be "Realtek High Definition Audio".]

    3. click on "Browse my computer for driver software".

    4. click on "Let Me pick from a list of drivers on my computer".

    5. put the "Show compatible hardware" check box if not already checked.

    6. in the list of devices, click on 'High Definition Audio'.

    7. click on "next".

    8. in the update driver warning box, click 'Yes' (the driver).

9 restart the portable computer if you are prompted. If not invited, so no need to restart.

    10. to reinstall the Realtek driver, repeat the process but select the Realtek driver to step 6.

Note that even if you use the native driver eliminates the noise, he may not be a satisfactory solution because it is a generic driver that lacks some of the features of the pilot of the provider.

Don't forget that there is a short return period during which you can return your defective laptop. After the expiry of this period, your remaining option is to obtain the warranty service, but a solution could not be achieved.

  • Inspiron 15R 7537 does not connect to the mini speakers Bose SoudLink Bluetooth

I can't connect my mini speaker Bose Bluetooth for my Inspiron 15R 7537. It does not appear in the list of available Bluetooth devices so that my cell phone, so I know that Bluetooth is turned on. -I placed the speaker Bose directly next to the Inspiron 15R and tried to add it, but no luck. I am running Windows 8 on this laptop. In the Device Manager, I right click the Bluetooth of Dell and Microsoft Bluetooth Enumerator (whatever it is) and selected 'update software of the reader' but the message came up saying to my drivers are up to date. -I have 2 other Dell computers that work well with this speaker - a desktop computer XPS 8700 running Windows 7 and a Tablet Dell coming 11 Pro running Windows 8.1, so I know that the speaker works. I was able to pair and connect the Bose speakers for them and they play very well. The problem seems to be with the Inspiron 15R. I would like suggestions. Thank you.

    Hello Jimmy10 66,

Thank you for reaching out to the Community Support from Apple. I know how it is important to follow your alerts, and I want to help you get your work again.

Before we get too far, it's always a good idea to check that your 'secret' button just above your volume controls is not engaged. If you see that the yellow indicator go ahead and switch to the other position to turn it off.

Alternatively, you can drag up from the bottom of the screen and make sure that the control of "do not disturb" is disabled.

If those who are for the time off, go ahead and restart your phone and retest alerts. If the behaviour continues or if you encounter any problems, please reach out again and let the community know what other steps you have tried. The entire community is here to help.

  • My computer makes a clicking noise at random - in the diagnosis of the Apple what is the meaning of error 4HDD/30 / 40000005:SATA (0,0) Please?

My computer makes a clicking noise at random - in the diagnosis of the Apple what is the meaning of error 4HDD/30 / 40000005:SATA (0,0) Please?

    Several clues:

    1. HARD and SATA drive in the message... On the way SATA HARD drive
    2. Clicking noise, which is an early signal of imminent death for HARD drive (there are only two types of readers... those who died and those who will be)

I would like to start keep good clones (CarbonCopyClone, bombich.com, $40) for external drives or backups Time Machine.  Any backup of the drive, not just your favorite parts.  Perform backups on a schedule without fail IMHO.

You can also start to consider a SSD at macsales.com (their mercury collection is highly recommended) or a new HARD disk, at least start planning if the SSD cost is worth the benefit of speed on the HARD drive.  You can buy it later.

Just my paranoid approach to this situation.

My Dvd Player does not work. When a disc is in, it makes some noises but never charges upward. Had this problem when I first bought the laptop but a parent set. Now I don't know how to solve the problem again.

Maybe the lens needs to be cleaned or maybe gear or bearing broke. Seems like a hardware problem. Better do inspected by a mechanic of the computer. S.Sengupta Media Center MVP

  • Inspiron 15R SE 7520 video card does not work after update Windows 8.1

The internal graphics are Intel HD 4000 and the graphics card is a Radeon HD M 7730. After update for Windows 8.1 almost everything worked, except that it only uses the integrated Intel graphics card. Now, the resolution is not right and parts of the interface Windows look rather mediocre in comparison.

    What I tried:

    • Uninstalling the video card drivers
    • Reinstall the drivers for the video card in Dell
    • Install the latest beta drivers directly on the AMD website
    • Disabling the integrated Intel graphics card
    • Uninstall the Intel integrated graphics card

    So now what?

    Hi all

After a lot of Googling, got this Dell website which has 8.1 Windows drivers for Inspiron 15R 7520 SE:

    http://FTP.Dell.com/published/pages/Inspiron-15R-se-7520.html#TopSolutions

After having installed the drivers from AMD & Intel HD4000 for Win8.1 on the site above, blurry of the screen disappeared and catalyst works again!

Please spread this link autour!  Very weird representatives Dell did not provide this link. Their advice to uninstall drivers / stop windows update does not help.

  • Inspiron 15R 5521 Wireless does not not on Win7 32 bit

    Hello

I bought Dell Inspiron 15R 5521, recently installed Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit and I have trouble finding the right drivers to get the wireless working. Can you help?

So can you advise any other drivers I need to install?

Your paper download section there seems to be only 64-bit drivers.

    Thanks in advance.

    Best regards

    Reinis

    The drivers are here:

    http://FTP.Dell.com/published/pages/Inspiron-15R-5521.html

Most are 32-bit and 64-bit. It is a bit more including the Intel graphics driver and wireless card Intel that are 64-bit only. The 32-bit versions of these lies in the Intel Download Center:
