Inspiron 15R (N5110, early 2011)

I am very disappointed by the site of Dell support for this model. It shows 2 different AMD driver downloads...

AMD ATI Mobility Radeon HD 7450/7650

&

ATI Mobility Radeon HD 7570M

Problem is this laptop is not (and was not always an option to have) any of these chipsets. Generic AMD drivers (Omega 14.12) do not work properly. I tried to download the driver of HD 6470 M by searching from Dell website, but the pilot shows that only being compatible for Vostro Notebook 3555 and Inspiron M5110. When I installed this driver, it's pretend complete installation but then nothing (Catalyst Control Center was not available after reboot and still a yellow! in Device Manager)

Any ideas?

Its an AMD 6470 M and Dell have Windows 7 and 8.0 drivers here:

    PCIMPOTS,

You can update the bios of the computer. You can consider the formatting and installing Windows 7 on the system. Do a new Installation of Windows will more than likely fix the problem.

  • "Stop 0x000000A5 the BIOS of the system is not fully ACPI-compatible every time as the installation of a new windows 7 integral over Inspiron 15R N5110.

    Hello

I have installed Windows 7 ultimate 64 bit on many brands of laptops, but when I installed it on Inspiron 15R N5110, (core i5 and 4GBRAM). I faced an error at startup of windows 7 after completing the installation.
NOTE: When the installation finished and restarted my computer, this window shown to me.

Two options from the two options above I chose, I found myself with the blue screen:

Error blue screen said something these ' BIOS in this system is not fully ACPI-compatible. Contact your system provider for an updated BIOS I don't know what that means and I don't know where is the culprit. I wish I could capture this error screen. However, it is impossible to do because I wasn't the Windows environment.

Even if the error related to BIOS necessary for the update, so how could I update as long as windows has not begun.

Is there something that needs to be configured in the BIOS before installing Windows 7 on Dell laptops.
I'm quite surprised that the previous system was windows 7, but it was Home Premium.

The strangest thing is when I tried to start to repair the disk and even disk instillation of Windows to resolve startup problems, I found that this startup repair couldn't fix problems.

When I tried to do these steps:

    1. Insert your Windows XP CD into the CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive, and then restart your computer from the CD.

Note Some computers may require you change basic input/output system (BIOS) settings before you can start the computer from a CD-ROM. For more information about changing the BIOS, see your computer documentation.
    2. When the "Welcome" screen appears, press R to start the Recovery Console.
    3. If your computer is configured to dual-boot or multiple boot, select the appropriate installation of Windows XP.
    4. When you are prompted to do so, type the administrator password and press ENTER.
Note By default, the administrator password is blank in Windows XP Home Edition.
    5. By default, Hiberfil.sys is usually located in the directory root (C:\). At the command prompt, type del hiberfil.sys and then press ENTER.
    6. Restart the computer.
When I arrived at "system recovery options, I saw that my system is listed, then I chose then, but I found myself with this ' this"system recovery options"version is not compatible with the version of windows that you are trying to fix." Try to use a different compatible with this version of windows recovery disk, even if I'm sure only that the same disk to install windows I have installed since.

NOTE: I do not add RAM or other devices. There is a windows 7 Home premium and I just re installed a windows 7 ultimate 64-bit. I don't really know what the previous windows version 7 is 32 or 64 bit.
I checked the dell forum and I found ' your computer goto your BIOS F2

That goto advance Select ATA to instead of AHCPI save the setting, and then try to restart your Windows 7

    hope it will work. »

But he did not AHCPI, but I found AHCI and let ATA instead of AHCI, but no difference that happened.

    Hello

Check the steps suggested by LoneWolf1983 from the link below and see if it helps.

Warning: Be careful when you change the BIOS settings. The BIOS interface is designed for advanced users, and it is possible to change a setting that can prevent your computer from starting properly. BIOS update should be made only if necessary (to solve a compatibility problem, for example). It can be a complicated process, and if an error occurs, your computer could be rendered inoperative. Be sure to observe the instructions of the manufacturer.

    Thank you very much

I checked this thread, and I found this solves the problem

I have changed the serial port in the BIOS for 2F8/IRQ3 and I have not had a blue screen since... fingers crossed, it's her!

But as you know that no matter what BIOS are different from others.

Thus, I have not found any serial port in the BIOS to be replaced by 2F8/IRQ3

NOTE: My problem is when you install a new version of Windows.

In addition, every time a new windows installation 7 and facing the Blue error screen, I started to Macrium Rescue CD and clicked "fix windows startup", and then when restart my windows, I was not facing the the Blue error screen. If windows starts successfully.

If the blue screen error was tied to the BIOS, the Refelct Macrium rescue CD wouldn't no matter what (not know this problem)

  • Inspiron 15R n5110 brightness adjustment don't work anymore after upgrade to 8.1 Windows (x 64)

My Inspiron 15R laptop n5110 is 2-3 years old and it came with windows 7 installed. I installed Windows 8 after that. But when I upgraded to Windows 8.1, within a few days, I noticed other Fn keys work fine, but I can't control the brightness with Fn keys. What can I do to fix this?

I hope this helps others. My problem was related to the view being disabled in Device Manager. Once I enabled the generic PnP display the problem has been resolved.

  • Inspiron 15R N5110 says he does not charge, but it is

Since the last update of Windows (running Windows 10) my laptop says that it does not charge. I used it on a regular basis and the battery power remains just exactly where it is. When I unplug and use it, it drains as it normally would, and when I plug in, it keeps just some percentage that down.

Do I need a new battery or a power adapter? Help please

None of the suggestions helped. I had to take my laptop to my dad and he opened the "Dell battery meter" to right click on the battery in the taskbar. There is a setting inside, which gives you the ability to disable the loading of the battery. He checked somehow. I don't understand why this is even an option, so weird. I unchecked, restarted the computer, and now he is in charge.

Also, until I found the solution, BIOS was not detect a power adapter. After you apply the fix, he acknowledged again.

  • Inspiron 15R N5110 problem screen (purchased on 11/07/12)

My laptop screen will stop randomly and instead watch of dozens of fast-moving, horizontal, lines covering the entire screen of color. I wish I could post the video that I took with my iphone today showing exactly what happens, but I don't know how or if she is still allowed. The functions and I have to close it manually with the power button. As soon as I re-boot, everything works fine, until it does it again. Sometimes, it is once a day, sometimes several times a week. I understand that it is not good to stop very often in this way.  I do not have anything else that surfing the web, shopping, electronic control, watching videos online (ONLY for the reputable sites), etc. I have just this week learned to download photos and videos on Facebook. Nothing heavy. I'm not comfortable to Dell for repair of shipping my laptop because I have so many personal financial information on this subject. I have a program for the protection of password that I can set to open only with a master password.  I don't really know how is there to take to make meetings of Dell US support for this phone number and would NOT deal with the support of foreign countries.  I did not buy home warranty (probably should have in posterior view). Bought at Walmart.

I am SO disappointed. My husband has a Dell laptop old of 10 years who never gave him a minute of boredom. That's why I went with Dell. My last laptop is HP and it started freezing randomly. I even had my nephew, who worked for the support work for the top level HP on it and she was not yet set.  It used to be a gateway. I run up-to-date anti-virus (Microsoft Essentials), Malwarebytes, defragmentation and disk cleanup. I did several searches on Google using words and phrases that are different and have not yet find something to solve my problem.

Another weird thing: when I have it on my knees (I use a good quality cooling block) and go put, it usually gives me a slight tingling sensation on my thumbs along the silver border (I guess it's metal any) around the keyboard as I'm going to put it down. Even if I'm trying to be very responsible in taking care of my electronics, my husband thinks I have a negative aura that affects the operation of electronics. Laughing out loud!

I can just afford to buy another computer laptop so soon after buying it. If all goes well, someone has knowledge of it and can point me in the right direction for a fix.

    Thanks in advance!

    Lisa

Yes, you can switch to a guarantee on site during the initial warranty period.  You'll have to ask about the price, it's about $100 more for purchase;  I guess it's more like twice after the purchase.

  • Inspiron 15R N5110 'type and power adapter AC power cannot be determined.

I was faced this problem for 2 days now! Yesterday my charger(AC adapter) stopped to load my laptop in all of a sudden so I thought it was just the adapter that stopped working the next day I went and bought another adapter with the same input, and the output power is plugged into my laptop and it started to beep and then he showed me this:

The power adapter is just the same as the original one 90 W as well, but it seems that my system does not detect the card I went to my BIOS, and checked

The AC adapter type / CC: 'None '.

    Try to order:

A new adapter Dell OEM AC - if this does not solve the problem,

    Replace the DC Jack:

    >

    -If this does not,

    Replace the motherboard.

  • Dell inspiron 15R n5010 no sound, Windows 10

I have dell 15R (N5010) and have problems with the audio drivers. When I upgrade to Windows 10 my audio drivers not working and have no sound. I spoke with the community of Microsof, he send to dell... It's a rly funny because dell allow users of portable computers more former because they have no benefits for this. The warranty is over so bye :) Can someone help me?

Attention to anyone reading this thread:

Make sure you know the name of your template before you install a driver!

The topic of this thread is "Dell inspiron 15R n5010 no sound, Windows 10. The problem is that there is no model with this exact name. There is an Inspiron N5010 from 15and an Inspiron 15R N5110.

They are different models and different drivers. In other words, the audio driver for the N5010 is not intended for the N5110 and vice versa.

To complicate matters, someone named aimeehuang posted in this thread and put in a link named "dell 15r n5010 drivers download. But if you click on the link it goes to a page for Inspiron 15R N5110.

The person named 'aimeehuang' is not used on this discussion forum and probably got confused model names.

Check the name of your model. If you have an Inspiron 15 N5010, use driver IDT audio R280657. It is intended for Win7, so install in Win10 using compatibility mode (instructions below).

If you have an Inspiron 15R N5110, use the IDT 6.10.0.6421 audio driver. It is intended for Windows 8. He could install without problems in Win10, but if there is a problem, install it using compatibility mode (instructions below).

    1. download and save the audio driver on your computer or to any location on the hard drive...
    2. double-click on the new folder to extract (unzip) the files of the driver.
    3. the wizard of the extractor will create a new folder for the driver files. It will be located at the "c:\dell\drivers\xxxxxx". Note the exact location that the wizard creates.
    4. If the driver begins to install automatically, stop (cancel) installation.
    5. search for the driver files on the hard drive (the location you noted).
    6. find the file "setup.exe".
    7. right click on setup.exe to open the context menu.
    8. Select Properties.
    9. Select the Compatibility tab.
    10. check the box "run this program in compatibility mode for"... Win7 (or Win8 if you install the Win8 to the N5110 driver).

  • Smart response caching: HARD + SSD on Inspiron 15R drive SE, mSATA value SRT, still no button "Accelerate."

    Hello

This is probably a common problem that has been explained earlier, but I cannot find an answer here-I found describing almost the same question, but still not the same as the son.

So I have a cool Inspiron 15R SE with pre-installed Windows 8, 1 to HDD and SSD 32 GB on mSATA included for caching purposes. The problem is that, as far as I can see, without acceleration/cache that really happens with my SSD as just another drive.

In the BIOS my mSATA operation is set to 'Intel Smart Response technology' which seems to be a good option for caching. Looks like on this screenshot I took from another thread, the yellow highlighted option is selected in my system:

But when I boot in Windows 8 and run the Intel Rapid Storage Technology technology, I don't see "Accélération" button / tab - as if my drive is not eligible or is in the wrong mode. This is the screenshot of my Intel utility for you to see there is no option to activate the cache:

If it's relevant, my SSD drive appears in my disk management console and is also available as a regular drive in Explorer and other files with a drive letter assigned managers (guess which indicates the acceleration is not in use).

There is also a Hibernate (8 GB) on this disk partition, but there is still enough for caching (mandatory min 16 GB, 20 GB left) free space. Should I try to disable hibernation? My hiberfil.sys file is on the HARD drive so that probably won't help. Here is a screenshot of another utility pre-installed from Intel, Intel Quick Start Technology Manager, if this might be relevant:

Any ideas are much appreciated, I've been strongly trying this additional disc and it was actually the main reason for me to choose this particular laptop model. It's a shame, I can't use it for some reason any.

    Thank you very much!

I found the answer. To activate the acceleration must be no. PARTITIONS on the SSD drive even if it is still not enough allocated space.

If the partition of QuickStart technology, with that my laptop came prevented Rapid Storage to accelerate.

After I deleted all partitions on the disk, it worked.

If you still need the partition of quick start or for other purposes, you can specify less space for acceleration during the installation and create your partition later.
