Inspiron 3650 SATA power cable

I want to add a new hard drive to my new Inspiron 3650. I have the sata cable, but looks like I need to buy a power cable. What I should buy and where can I get a? Thank you

I had the same problem trying to get the secondary sata power cable to the sata 2.5 drives. In the first command, they sent me the primary sata power cable that has only a single sata power connection and a connection from dvd player. P/N = KC81G. The sales rep insisted it was the right cable.

I called back and discuss it with another sales who has been able to help me. She said yes, there are 2 different reference numbers and the correct is P/N = GP2JM. Once I received it I installed it and it worked perfectly.

The part costs $4.99 with free shipping.

Oh, they have no photos to show what they look like.

  • sata power cable 6-pin molex

I have a HPE-460z and PSU has only 6 pin sata power cables. My case is running hot, especially the southbridge chipset and I want to get one of those slot fans that match the area of expansion card, but the only guy I've seen take a molex connector 4-pin. I've seen conversion cables that range from cable molex to sata drives, but not conversely. Has anyone seen a sata cable molex OR if someone saw a slot fan which will have the power cable 6 pin?

LarryMeBoy Hello, here is a link for an adapter you are looking for, I think.

If it isn't, simply do a search on Google, and there are hundreds of these connectors there.

  • Inspiron 20 3052 - SATAP1 cable drive power?

I took a lot of the President on this AIO week last to use as an Internet/Netflix box for my recreation room.  It works great for surfing/streaming, but I plan to upgrade a little.

Adding a 8 GB RAM SODIMM should be a piece of cake, but when I checked to see if a HARD drive add would be possible, I discovered that Dell does not include cables power or SATA data with the device.  The SATA data cable will not be a problem... it is of standard connections.  The SATA power cable, seems unfortunately, use a connector owner in the Mo (SATAP1, that's how it was tagged... it looks like a connector small molex, 5 poles from what I understand).

Does anyone know if it is possible to order just this Uncable 'SATAP1' to power a SATA internal SSD?

When I asked Dell Technical Support, the gentlemen said that all their parts were available to order, but I'm not see anywhere on their Web site.

I would also be willing to buy a 3rd part of the game, but no one knows if someone does this (or adapter)?

    Appreciate all the advice.

    Gregg

Cable arrived today, its what we needed. RHYYJ is the part # on my order. Fittings for the SATA and power unlike VC6J3.  My MB came not with the SATA optical on it as well as a waste.

  • SATA power for Slimline 450-121

Just bought a drive additional sata hard. (to be added as a second drive)

I see the (data) sata plug on the motherboard, but the power supply has only 1 sata power cable.

How can I add power to my extra (second) drive sata hard?

I watched 2 docs that are no help:

    https://t.co/QXaueAKFFj

    https://t.co/ugPaqxrwjX

There are two ways to solve this problem.  You can get ONE OF THESE(simpler).  Or if the power supply has the former molex connectors, get ONE OF these, that simple.

BTW: I guess you know if there is a spare Bay drive.

I would like to bring to the Austria, Europe on vacation and there are kits of international power. I chatted with dell and the representative recommended a kit. Except - when I looked at the page I discovered that the power cable on the kit has TWO components. My Dell Inspiron power cord has THREE pins. The adapter's original dell and the pins are on a horizontal line, two of the closest together and the other more apart. Look directly, it lloks like this: 00 0

    My problem is:

Y at - it an international kit, which has a THREE pronged power cable that matches my inspiron 1150?

    Or

Y at - it a TWO parts Dell Inspiron dell brick of power that fits the international kit from dell?

  • New Inspiron 3650 - how to add an SSD

I recently got my new i7 Inspiron 3650 with a 2 TB HARD drive. I need to add an SSD to the machine and need advice on how to do it.

First question is: is it possible for one SSD + HDD in this computer? Or is it limited to a single player?

Open the case, I see that there are 4 units of SATA data cable (2 available) on the card mother, however there is no available additional power cable. The single power cable has two connectors, a session on the HARD drive and the other to the DVD player. How can I add another cable or splitter to route power to the SSD?

In addition, there are available for a 2.5 drive bays ", but I need an enclosure for mounting the drive. Is there an add-on Dell blue plastic mounting kits available for this? Otherwise, I can get the generic Assembly for this kits.

I would appreciate if any part numbers/accessories from Dell can be recommended to achieve this.

    Thank you.

    Hi Hkhawaja,

Yes, you can certainly have an SSD and a HARD drive, and I suppose you want to put the OS on the SSD.

This thread offers answers to some of your questions. And here is the link to your manual.

I have a link below for a very nice Windows reinstallation guide, which will help you to download an ISO of 10 Windows you can use to install the OS on the new drive.

  • For HDD power cable

Just bought a HP Envy 700-030qe CTO desktop PC. Because HP does not offer a hybrid drive SS I decided to install one myself and move the disc that came with the computer to the 2nd position in the car. Successfully, I have installed the new drive, restored the system and reformat the original drive using an external adapter to Apricorn. To complete the installation of the 2nd disk, you need the integral of separate SATA connector in the harness (no problem) and a power cable. The latter was not provided. Called HP support and they told me dryly that HP will not sell me the part since I did not buy a second drive hard when I bought the computer.

Someone finds a way around that stupid customer and very unfriendly HP political or otherwise know of a 3rd party where I can buy the cable?

Semibum wrote... "To complete the installation of the 2nd disk, you must the integral of SATA connector in the harness (no problem) and a power supply cable separate."

    I think you have that backwards... The power connector is the part that is "part of the beam" and you need to buy a separate SATA cable to connect the drive to the motherboard. If you follow the 'wiring' to its origin, it should go to food. The power connector/cable and SATA data connector/cable should look like;

    Example of SATA connections

    1 - power cable

    2 - SATA data cable

  • Phoenix 850qe: HP ENVY Phoenix 850qe Desktop PC - hard drives added additional... power cable?

Ordered with a SATA PC came with a power cord for this player. want to add my HARD drives... I have slots for three, but a single power cord for the SATA drive...

Is there a reference number or the name of the adapter to power these discs? (FRO three data cables supplied with unit)

Its dangerous with sata power thanks to the design of the contacts inside the plug.

This just sucks, I feel your pain.

  • Will not restart the PC if the power cable disconnected

After a brief power cut recently, my desktop computer Dell Inspiron that PC will not re-start. The Start button was dead, as if the power supply cable was not connected. After about an hour it rebooted normally and was going well until next time, I unplugged the power cable; then it was dead again for about 1 hour. This cycle is repeatable. All goes well as long as the power remains connected. I can shut down, hibernate, or whatever it is, as long the power is not disconnected.

It is never used to be like this. What has gone wrong?

    Hello

I agree 100% that it's hardware related. I bet that cut in power was a power surge or something like that and something inside the PC took the brunt of it. You connect the PC to a surge protector by chance?
I advise that you take that PC in a computer repair shop, or a competent expert, because it really doesn't sound like there is something of physically inside this PC that could be damaged. And whenever you're dealing with power, it is best not to wait until something is wrong.

  • New inspiron 3650 won't start

Saturday, I had a new inspiron 3650. I ran through the stuff to start and then I have it turned off and tried to install a new video card. The video card requires more energy than the 3650 has so I tried to replace the power supply. The new power supply was inconsistent with the 3650 so I put back the power SUPPLY original and the GPU. Now when I try to run just the power light blinks yellow. Fans start, but there is no input or output. That is, the monitor has no signal and the keyboard and mouse do not work. I have no idea of what is happening and any help would be appreciated.
