Install a new hard drive

My Presario CQ5700F 500 GB hard disk is dead. If I install a new hard drive, but I can't find my recovery disc and HP has no more recovery for this PC model Kits. How can I put Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit of the system back on my computer? Help me please.

Download the version of Windows 7 which shows on the COA sticker and use the key code too...

Make sure that the COA key code is readable before you download the ISO, because without it, the ISO has no value. You should also keep a note of the key code in a safe place.

Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 - U ISO

English x 64: X 17 - 58997.iso

You will need to convert the download on a bootable DVD...

http://www.isoimageburner.com/

Note that you will have the task to install all updates from Windows Update Windows. Do NOT check, download and install the drivers on Windows Update.

You will also have the task of getting the device drivers which should ONLY be obtained on the website of computer manufacturer, UNLESS the manufacturer of the computer directs you to Windows Update. Start with the CHIPSET drivers and work from that point, video, audio etc...

Also, do not use the Web DRIVER FINDER sites. Always use the computer manufacturer OFFICIAL site...

After you complete the above tasks, install Microsoft Security Essentials and then finish with your favorite programs.

Soon as your App Photos or iPhoto lost track of your photo library, or there has not been migrated from your old drive. You can create an empty library and probably enable iCloud photo library for photos to upload to the cloud.

  • Qosmio F30 - installing the new hard drive

    Hello

I just installed a new hard drive on my Qosmio F30 - he came originally only with a 60 GB hard drive.

The second disc is identical to the first in every way, i.e. of 60 GB drive Toshiba.

I initialized the new drive and it also shows online and unallocated. I want to use the reader to basically increase my quality, not like a mirror and so chose this option using the RAID Utility.

However when I expelore the C drive, it shows than the total capacity of the drives as 60 GB. I guess that both drives should be showing as a player, like 120 GB.

    The drive works properly?

    Thank you

    Hello

You can check in the BIOS if the second HDD is recognized correctly

As you say you don t want to use a mirror mode, but then you must set the RAID0 stripping!

Please also check the settings of the BIOS RAID!

At page 242 user manual you will find all the details on the different options and what they are for

  • If I do not support until my MBP before installing a new hard drive...

    Very quick question:

If I don't support my hard drive before installing a new hard drive, SSD, the MBP (early 2011) "know" download all the OS X software appropriate and that sort of thing? I guess my question is: is the part of the hard drive of the same hard drive recovery? Or on a separate physical disk.

I don't have a time machine, and it would probably be easier to start from scratch.

    Thank you!

If your computer comes with 10.6.8 or earlier and did not have its updated firmware updated to use Internet Apple system recovery, it is only on the internal drive. Otherwise, separate recovery methods are in the firmware and the drive internal.

  • HP EliteBook 8440p: Best boot option after installing the new hard drive and put to memory.

I just installed the new hard drive for my laptop and will get the cards of two memory installed tomorrow. I would like advice on what would be the best option to start when the laptop for the first time I'm on fire.

I have the original Windows HP recovery disk came with the computer.

I also have a recovery disc and a system image on disks created with Macrium Reflect two days ago.

I also have a recovery disc and a system image is created on an external hard drive Seagate two days ago. (I've read mixed reviews on these is currently working as a media of rescue with Win7 Pro).

I guess if I use the HP recovery disc I would be then just use any system image I prefer, without the recovery disk. Anyone know if it makes a difference at all which method to use?

    bozzle73

My recommendation would be to restore using the image of MR (Macrium Reflect) you did.

But then, I used Mr. on all my PCs for years and am a big fan - having had it Miss ever in the years and years of use.

You will need boot from the boot of MR media (you did that right) and, if you photographed all the required partitions for the operating system, restore it on the new drive should take a few minutes, and when this is done, you reboot and everything should be OK.

    Good luck

  • HP Pavilion DV6-6c35dx: potential problems with OS driver install the new hard drive?

I want to spend the hard drive of my laptop, but my laptop did not come with recovery discs. I buy a full copy of Windows 7 Professional, but I did save it... because when everything has failed, I guess. If I'm able to reinstall Win 7 Home or if I have to install Win 7 Pro, how can I be sure to reinstall all drivers HP (p. ex., trackpad, meaning cool, beats audio, etc.) for my machine? It is best to download the drivers before you install the new hard drive and have them ready on a flash drive. or is there an easier way? Thank you.

I personally prefer the new OEM installation & then get required drivers to download for HP support for your laptop model.

It is slower and more difficult to do if it is not too well known, but the end result is much better.

If your system has flaws you should try to fix first, but better long-term results come from clean install generally.

  • Failed to install the new hard drive

I have a laptop Lenovo R61 on which I want to install a new hard drive, Kingston SSDNow V300 (60GB, 2.5 "), with Linux Mint.

I have a DVD of installation of Linux Mint. If I have the old hard drive installed, I can start from the DVD and enter Linux Mint where I can install it on the old hard drive.
If I change the hard drive for the new SSD, the computer starts only in part by the DVD (selection screen appears), then the computer automatically restarts. From AHCI in the BIOS (in Serial ATA menu) to compatibility did not change the behavior.

Any ideas how I can get Linux Mint installed on my new hard drive?

  • Having trouble installing new drivers after installing a new hard drive and Windows Vista.

I just installed a new hard drive on my computer of dell inspiron 1525. I managed to do it and it worked. I had a disc from dell to reinstall windows vista edition Home premium 32-bit and had drivers and utilities dvd. However I couldn't connect to the internet. I understand I'm missing some drivers but I rebooted the computer, but it goes to the black screen asking you to start in safe mode, safe mode with network, normally and something else. But after trying all of them, it goes straight to this same screen. What can I do? Or I can clear the new hard drive and start over? Any ideas?

I suggest that you run the Startup Repair tool and check if it solves the problem:

I suggest Download driver network card on another computer, and then transfer the file using any flash drive and even install in the computer you have challenged.

    Hey rcfball66

You can always buy a gateway vista recovery disk to reinstall vista back to the factory with the new drive settings

They provide at a nominal cost

manufacturers of hard drive normally supplies free software to their Web sites for the movement of the operating systems of the old hard drive to the new hard disk cloning you buy home

You can also use programs third 3rd to do this, or upgrade Vista Home Basic vista full for pc full upward

but you can normally buy 3rd party programs

read below information about such a program

  • After installing a new HARD drive, I get a screen "control i to access the configuration utility.

    Help?

I installed a new HARD drive on my xps 15 because the old drive crashed. Everything works fine and the system boots perfectly. Before entering the Dell splash screen, the screen "control i to access the configuration utility" appears for 5 seconds. After that, the normal boot sequence resumes. Can someone please explain to me why this is happening and what I can do about it?

Here is a link to the screen I get started: http://s102.photobucket.com/user/alexcinie/media/photo_zpsb75f0a7f.jpg.html

The mSATA drive is used as a cache for the hard drive dynamic - these are essentially implemented in a RAID 0 array.  See the link below (it is for Alienware, but applies to your system as well).

If you want to keep the disk cache, you need to configure the array as shown.

  • Installed the new hard drive - now "OS not found"

Hi, I recently installed a new hard drive in my laptop because the old hard drive was dead. So, I installed the hard drive and I am now installing the operating system using the Dell disk I received with my laptop. This is for the 32-bit window Vista and it says it should be used for re-installation of Vista. It was in a sealed envelope - so it has never been used.

When I start the laptop and insert the disc, it just says: operating system not found.  I made sure the cd drive is the first in the startup list.  I also put the drive into another laptop and copied the files on a USB key.  Then tried to install it on the USB. No luck.

I have run the system diagnostics, and it says that my hard drive and cd drive are recognized and functioning.

The dell cd drive is not bootable?  Thanks in advance for your help.

I was able to fix this on my own. It turns out that one of the files has been altered I discovered once I was finally able to get it to boot from a USB device.  I found the one window Vista installation disk other that I have with another computer laptop and used that. Worked well.

  • clean install on new hard drive

My hard drive crashed on my Hp laptop.  I installed a new hard drive and want to install my os vista on the computer.  I did the recovery disks when I bought the computer and told me that I could reinstall the operating system on the new hard drive.  My problem is that I keep getting error codes 1005 and 100a.  It stops the installation.  I then told me that I have to buy own recovery disks.  Can someone make me scroll through the process of getting the OS on my computer.  Can I use the recovery disk that I did or do I need to buy new, or I need to find a single version of full vista... Please help and thank you in advance!

I'm sorry but it is the HP recovery, not Microsoft Software/process of.

Also, you did your own Disk(which is correct to do) Recovery, but nobody would know if you make them correctly, or not.

Contact HP above the link for any problems with their software/recovery process.
